I do a lot of downhilling HMing. I can go about 4 + miles on a strech of road in my town without engine power. It's sick, even my ten year old gets exited when we hypermile like this.

P.S. Yes, it is a safe strech of highway otherwise I would not do it, specially with my boy on board.

Oh my God! (choke) I need to make that MIMA modification. I drive an '05 5-speed Insight as my primary vehicle and brag about getting 42 average MPG. It's sad that Honda never came out with MIMA controls or upgraded the design at all for that matter. We need more compact sports models with electric assist or partially electric-only for traffic jams.

Randall is a great guy and an excellent hypermiler. My car is the silver Insight just behind his blue one. The Insight is a great car, the mileage is just off the charts.
