  • is beautiful ^^

  • Is Anne Boleyn and not Anna Bolein :p

  • Sounds eastern Asian

  • No historical fact that it's Italian at all. it states only Italian style of composition.

  • This king was so gifted And could have done so much good if not his sexual uncontroled misconduct.

He broke from the universal Church to establish his own church in order to justify his sexual misconduct.

His last words were: "all is lost"

  • Sounds like Ftikin

  • Anne Boleyn preferred burgundy and deep reds for her clothes, so I doubt Green sleeves releates to her.... Some sources suggest Kathyrn Howard caught his attention by singing this at court (his song, and given his reputed ego, that would make sense)

  • Actually Greensleeves is Italian and never reached England until after Henry VIII's death

  • @DungeonSeigeMaster Okay which one is correct now, Italian or English ?

  • @stevefp3 Italian.

  • @DungeonSeigeMaster no, it is an english song... its composition is in the style of of contemporary Italian, the song itself is english. :)

  • @tisFrancesfault english might enjoy the song, but it is italien, the song didnt even reach england until after Henry VIII's death.

  • @DungeonSeigeMaster You seem to have misread the Wikipedia article. It states this is an English folk song written in Italian style. The style did not reach England until after Henry's death, not the song. I know you only went on Wikipedia to find this information because you've practically copied it. Read better next time.

  • @George19881988 I read it correctly, it says Greensleeves is italian in origin.

  • @DungeonSeigeMaster It says "Greensleeves, which is probably --> **Elizabethan in origin (not Italian)**<-- and is based on an Italian style of composition that did not reach England until after his death.

Elizabethan in origin: meaning of Queen Elizabeth of England's reign. Meaning in England.

Based on a style that is Italian in origin: meaning the *style* was Italian (not the song).

    Capito?
