I was asking myself the same question. I would be curious to know if it's the case or not. The FX loop on my Solo 50 seems weird. I have to be careful how loud I send into it or there's some low wobble sound that comes out of the speakers. I'm wondering if it's normal or not. Anyone?
Yes I get the same with mine when using delays with high level settings on the delay. Its because of the parallel FX loop. A conversion to series will fix the prroblem.
I've done some digging on this and it's because parallel pile up your "original sound" and "the processed sound + the original sound again". The result is somekind of phasing because the original sound is up there twice. Your solution is to put every effects in 100% wet. But then, you'll will be limited with what you can do. Or have it modified to Serial. I currently use it unmodified but plan to have it modified with a switch and footswitch to go from one to the other. Parallel is good too.
i don't get it why jealos people always morph into assholes. this is a cool sound und there is no to be offent only because you cant stand that he has so nice gear
obviously if it were that easy to get this sound, Metallica would have used a squire through a DD6 Boss into a Crate but that isn't the case and anyone worth their salt as a guitarist will know this is true.
The G Major is only time based effects, but it does them at a pro level. Maybe not something a major studio would use to wet tracks, but pro none-the-less.
You should set your input to barely but not peak with no effects, and set your output the same volume as if you had nothing in your effects loop. It can be tricky.
hey man i have the same head and a g major but cant figure out how to set the thing up in the loop. What were the send/ recieve levels on the head and all?
yo i have a line 6 flextone head with the corresponding floorboard to control all the amp models and effects n crap t make my own presets. I wanna buy this thing cuz it just sounds amazing but I just dont know if i can like switch to a clean chorus and revrb n delay (off the g major) to a distortion off my amp (without the chorus delay n reverb from the g major) idk if i was too vague so if you understand what im asking, please get back to me. and is it good for playing live?
well you can but you will have to control them separately, so you would have midi controler the g-major and the floorboard to switch amp. till i get a switching system i have to change both.
Most Line 6 heads have a MIDI output so if you set the MIDI on the G-Major and the head, you could get both pieces of gear to work with the FBV Short/Longboard.
DSJ: The Recto is a non-MIDI head, so I doubt a Mesa switch would work.
HI, i have a question, how does one, make their own presets using the tc elec g major. I have it along with the manual but i can seem to figure it out. If you can tell me or send me a link that would be awesome.
hmm and I see already that I am going to buy. thank you very much. otherwise defective Gmajor's not something that you convensa or missing? thank you very much for your help.
Hey very nice sound! I've got the same rig as you have but I can not get this fantastic clean tone. Could you advice wich EQ setting to have in your recto and what effects you're using in the G.major? thanks!
eq for ch1 is pres:12:30 bass:cranked to 10 mid:2:00 treb 3:00. on the g-major i you the advanced chorus. the speed is set at 0.122 HZ depth is 65% hi cut is 15.8 the cho delay is 14.0 ms

Ive read about having to mod the rectifiers from parallel 2 serial fx loop to get the g-major working. is that right ? how do you connect yours ?

Your premise is that this type of sound is hard to get....and it just isn't.
any thirteen year old with any focus and a couple hundred dollars of their parents money can make it happen.
It is a generic neck single coil with some chorus into any old circut amp.
Its NOT like your knocking off Brian Setzer's tone or recreating Paco De'Luca's fingerings on a nylon string
to quote Mike Patton,
"you still won't hear."

Hey, I have an extra Mesa Rectifier footswitch. It's for a dual. Would that work for a channel switcher on the G-Major?
dsjkak1 3 years ago
Linkin Park PRS:
Most Line 6 heads have a MIDI output so if you set the MIDI on the G-Major and the head, you could get both pieces of gear to work with the FBV Short/Longboard.
DSJ: The Recto is a non-MIDI head, so I doubt a Mesa switch would work.
