I came back to watch your review of August Rush because I just saw it last night. I was so impressed with the music and percussive guitar he played, and also felt the story was predictable, but not believable. The finger tapping and banging on the guitar reminded me of some music I have heard, but unfortunately I couldn't remember the song. Joe Satriani did some of that. "Baroque," "Always With Me, Always With You," and "Surfing With The Alien" are a few of my favorites of his.
u giv away 2 much ov the movie's chill out boy willa ,dont blame it on the moon light , , ,dont blame it on the good time's , ,,, blame it on the butter ,.,
In my opinion, August Rush made me more jealous than anything, but oops that's my fault. You made me want to see No Country For Old Men. And I really really liked Horton Hears A Who but of course I'm closer to the intended audience age than you are ahah! I pulled the whole "overthinking" thing about the speck too, but the whole religious connection I think is pretty clever and I didn't see it that way before. Thanks :D
A large annoyance to me has always been people saying the word "basically" much too often. Another annoyance is using "so" in the beginning of a sentence. Both are used a ridiculous amount in communication and it really bothers me.
I don't want to appear as some angry yank when I say that, but I've heard you say "so, basically" a couple times now and I got ticked by it.
You're still awesome, by the way. Even more so for doing intelligent movie reviews.
Dan in Real Life- is the best movie ever! i loved it SO much i watched it twice in theaters!
Horton Hears a Who- i really wanna see it, but i'm not the animated person anymore.
have you seen "We Own the Night" it's a good movie except for the first seen. it was very.....umm, sexy. lol but you just gotta sit throught that first scence and then the movie gets WAY better! it's 18A by the way....
I just watched August Rush with my brother like two weeks ago. And I just watched Horton on Sunday. It was adorable, I was thinking religion too when I saw it. But mostly I was laughing my head off which just made the kids around me laugh harder. My brother and I are kind of adults lol
WOW! I havn't actually seen ANY of these movies... YET! After all of your reviews though I am most certainly looking forward to seeing some, if not all of them... just to see if I agree. :) August Rush sounds fantastic because of the involvement of music but No Counrty For Old Men sounds perfect without it... WIERD! I also really loved your Christian metaphor to Horton Hears a Who, because I've totally used that in a Sunday School lesson already... :) LOVED IT!! GOOD JOB COREY!!
