I am actually on my way out to step falls RIGHT NOW. It's not as deadly as everyone is saying, although now there is a tree lodged at the bottom that you hit sometimes underwater, although you are slowed enough to not break anything. It is a far jump, but youre safe.
This is one of the hardest jumps to make at ANY swimming hole. 1 slip and your DEAD! No broken legs or arms, D-E-A-D. I'd rather my own kids Jump killer about half mile up stream than Jump the Step Falls. It's a hot, sunny beautiful day. You find this wonderful cool swimming hole with a few nice rocks to jump off. Is it worth loosing your life to say "hey, I jumped from the top?"
yea, most people think that jump is too dangerous. that kid barely made it, but he gets his props from me. hahaha, im pretty sure i heard him going oh shit!
If you go on a weekend when school first gets back in, you will see kids running from the top of the dam, or jumping off the metal box at the top.
