true story . i once constructed a toothpick bridge that consisted of 250 toothpicks, 6 inches long,a toothpick high and a toothpick wide and we could only use elmers white glue. i built it in only 2 days. needless to say i shattered the school record. my bridge held 1700pds at once and didt even break a single toothpick. true story.
@robroythefirstmm i'm not too sure if you saw it or not but there was a video above and when the bridges broke in it the tiny sharp pieces of wood flew away pretty fast.
i built one that was 30cms long and 5cms wide and held 20 pounds for 15 seconds before it collapasd............... the bridge is still together but a little broken and bent
although these structures are strong for being made of nothing but tooth picks, they are a very poor design for practical use as a bridge, could you imagine driving a vehicle up and down those angles?
just did a toothpick bridge project at my high school. I used this basic design and held 73 pounds, tho i did have a horrible partner and it was a smaller version of this. very good design, got first place ^_^

.. how do you get first place agan..
Jukeboxheroswsprod 2 years ago
i did really bad..had horrible partner that didn't do anything and made the bridge weaker...
by myself, it would have held so much more, but i didn't really care, school project.
im just saying that the design is very nice, for a half-assed bridge to win first place, very nice!
