I know this sounds a bit off, but he almost has a touch of John Lennon in his voice on this #. I know fucked up, but I hear a bit of John's peace here???
@spolier YEAH , that is right. just yeah.. never a misunderstanding for me.. just a long long wait..for nothing.. shame that every fucking track you made out was for me , made my insides churn. you have a cheek, not balls, just cheek. Cocksure? Just a LITTLE....
Bloody love this. It was on my fav list after the first chorus. Then I heard Clark's original. Both are exceptional but my heart sank. Marks brilliant with covers but without the overtures this was very similar to the original. I honestly wish HE'D wrote this. I know Love Songs was marketed as covers but I was always left with brilliant but slight disappointment. He obviously loves this style aka Bell Black Ocean etc. SO GET IT OUT MATE! We all want the hear YOUR best cries! x

I saw him in Austin a year ago in a small club, I was almost in front of him and I can tell you this guy is out of this world, in the same league as Chris Cornell and Layne Staley. His solo works are also remarkable.
@19mono75 I'm with you, I think he was more creative then the 2. They were all together at the right time in my life. I'mlooking for something like Mad Season, the ones who made it. B. Martin on drums again, Mark,Chris and Jerry Canterll would make a lovely harmony, I miss Layne, but he knew where he was going, as Andrew Wood wrote, He who rides the pony must some day fall. They knew they were to deep I believe.. R.I.P. I love u both!
If i don't do anything else today but listen to this tract 20 times I will be a happy man. Contrast the writers compassion for humanity & his need to save souls with the darker sounds and wonderfully bleak & beautiful images, and you have the universe in balance..
@ghostwhiskey Richard Warren's the guitar player. He started out in the 90s in a Britpop band, The Hybrids, then did some arty post-rock stuff with Echoboy, and brought out a solo album last year. Not sure he ever lets rip like this on his own stuff though.
i'm locked in country that has serious penalties for smoking a joint....but i'd love to smoke one right now while laying on the floor with the lights out and this song on 11

@realMAFUCKAH you think? Mark is dark and has always made reference to it, but Cristian based. Mark is far from that, it's hard to be on the juice and not see the light.
who told you that and how would they know? i've wondered about his beliefs. christianity comes up more than once in his repertoire and in his documented travels as well...
@lamaddussa A mixture of intuition and reading different articles and interviews with Mark Lanegan. I talked to this person once who was analysing his lyrics for a Degree thingy-ma-jig, and she agreed that he was an atheist but that he was rather fascinated with the concept of salvation and divine inspiration. I'm an atheist, but I've got no "theological" axe to grind, if he was a Christian, I'd still listen to this band, it's nothing short of great music.
oh, i see... that's more interpretation than knowledge... i'm an atheist as well, myself. mark's various references to christianity & his travels to christian sites have been a curiosity to me, though, & i've wondered what his beliefs are.
@lamaddussa You're right, it could mean something, but from the interviews I've read and his lyrics as well as looking into his past, I'm pretty sure he's an atheist. I read somewhere that he is however, fascinated with the theme of redemption and salvation...
honestly, who knows? i know i'd respect his mind a little more if he didn't, um... believe in imaginary things. but, a lot of people who get into drug addiction / alcoholism recovery find the need to believe in religion to accomplish that... so, who knows what's up with his belief system. i'm curious, but we really can't know unless he says something about it.
@lamaddussa True, I think I would respect him a little less if he did believe in codswallop and I think my attitude towards the second album would change, but I'd still be a fan. I might utilise google in a little while to try and find out the answer to this question once and for all... If I find anything intresting, I'll msg you...
@rimfa123 from what i read his(mark) parents were really damaged by religion and had no faith to speak of but he was encouraged to believe what he wanted,i also read he spent some time in southern baptist churches, not really buying into it but just enjoying the theatrics of it.again this is just what i read, ive never met him so it could all be bullshit
I'm a big fan of the original. But this version honours Gene's composition. It is just a beautiful cover. Great Job. Nice Video which fits perfectly well. Thanks for this contribution!
November Rain was from Guns N Roses. I remember MTV played that video every hour when it came out. It was fairly long, too. I liked it then, but not now!
this is so much more than 'november rain'. 'november rain' ia a self indulgent, over the top, emotionless example of everything that was wrong with Guns'n'Roses. even comparing these two is ridiculous. i'm not even a huge fan of the Soulsavers but i respect their emotional input and the self-expression they put into their music. Guns'n'Roses were, to me anyway, truly awful, not only did they not SOUND good, but there wasnt a shred of dignity or passion in their music.
I know this sounds a bit off, but he almost has a touch of John Lennon in his voice on this #. I know fucked up, but I hear a bit of John's peace here???
