Taupin wrote the lyrics, John wrote the music, neither of which matters. He was compared with John above and, since everyone knows John didn't write the lyrics to his music, this seemed a straight-up comparison between Jackson and John on the total. And to argue Jackson passes Elton as a musician or a performer is, as much as I like Joe, simply absurd.

I didn't say I disagreed. you are right. However, JJ is my favorite combined songwriter/producer/musician. And his concerts are EPIC!!!

When you said I was wrong I assumed that meant you disagreed. Like I said, I'm a huge JJ fan and have never had the pleasure of seeing him live (was supposed to see him at Irving Plaza a few years back but my wife was having surgery). Hopefully I'll catch him the next go-around.
