Thanks. It was long (6 hours), but otherwise uneventful. I now have a lot of hardware in my heel. ;-)

The surgery went just fine. I'm recovering well, and I'm having my stitches out tomorrow. :D

Try telling an ER doc that your 3 year old daughter beat you up and broke your nose and watch him laugh himself silly

By the bye, what's the health care system in Australia like? Is it as borked as it is here in the U.S., or is it fairly good? Just curious.

Actually I think you may be quite lucky mate.

If it had been me I would have certainly landed on my head. Not because my brain would have been the heaviest part of my body and the first to hit the ground. Far from it infact. But because I have only ever broke bones in my head. Skull from a car crash, cheek bone from a beating,nose from falling out of bed and nose again from my youngest daughter re breaking the nose before fully healed

Our health cover is much better than the U.S.

We all get free health cover with Medicare and have the option to 'upgrade' with private cover. I have never needed to get private cover myself.

Id think its not that much if I hadn't fallen about that far of the jungle gym in 3rd grade or so and gotten a hairline fracture in my leg
