Call me bizarre but its hard for me to watch something with Gale where he's not Brian Kinney, Idk why. Just because he portrayed that character so amazingly and because QAF was so impactful to me. However, this looks really cute and I kinda wanna watch it. Gale's gorgeous and incredibly talented.
This film is not about race or fitting in or self love or self hate. This film is about enjoying a journey of discovery, a journey that takes Grace from where she is, to where she wants to be. And ABOVE ALL this film is about entertainment ... and by the way IT IS ENTERTAINING. A good film that gives you a quick look at self discovery, gives you a good escape from the day, and lets you enjoy some good entertainment.

The white man, I believe, is NOT the point of the movie nor is he the savior...He was merely a path to her discovery of what's most important - which is her family, her Chinatown roots. Apparently, her Chinese family is what the audience loves the most. I heard the film was great and had a lot of depth to it. Can't wait to see it.

I liked it -not a great film but a nice feel good film.1 of the few films that was culturally accurate about ChineseNorth Americans from the black/white photo of a deceased ancestor 2 the underwhelmed reaction when brother gets money from Grace. Grace wasn't poor. Her family was.
Finally, an Asian female (and lead, no less) who's neither an icy/deadly dragon lady nor some pathetic, dependent pseudo-geisha. Are there even that many white chicks in movies that work on Wall Street?
It's about time there was an Asian American/Asian Julia Roberts; hopefully the film will do well and Hollywood will start casting Asian Americans as something more than stale stereotypes.
Plus, Ken Leung is hot and talented and deserves to break out in a big way.
YAY!!!! I hope it's released in England...I SO want to see that. The movie looks a bit booring but if Gale Harold's in it it's a must see. ♥ him.
