  • This was the most useless video I have ever seen. It explains nothing...

  • theres a lock logo on the video that i made

  • can Divx .avi files work??

  • cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

    zThat is my problem help?

  • How do i save it as an avi and put it into movie maker?

  • Can somebody help me..... How do you even get the avi files into software editing programs? OR at least save it as a wmv cuz this isnt working in movie maker....

  • @VirtueRiley Because how do you import the video if its saved as a avi!?!!?!?!?!??!?!!!!!!

  • CamStudio is a really powerful tool, but it's kind of sloppy when it comes to video conversion and exporting.

Especially if you want to view the movie on a pc where C.S. is NOT installed.

Does any of you know how to get a "portable" version of camstudio outputs?

    thanks! :)

i tryed converting and it didnt work either

  • try searching free x video converter download on google and x video converter converts almost anything... and it does convert to avi which you need for windows movie maker

  • you need the software for your camera or google

converters until you find what you need.

free software sometimes will post adds on front of file but it usually only last 6or7 second start filming early.. check jimmycon (channel) for this type of stuff..lol

  • i have same problem =(

  • I just noticed I posted my thank-you just now one whole year after you made this video...if there are easier ways to do this now, anyone, PLEEZE email me, and thanks!

  • One of those rare tutorials that is actually helpful. I was able to convert my avi format to the wmv and it finally worked. Uploads still take longer than I'd like, as does the dang conversion, but at least it WORKS. Thanks, great great post.

  • bence güzei değil

  • virtual dub will get yer file sizes down

  • virtual dub is crap

  • t/y very much this help me alot

  • Thanks! Very informative.

  • your voice is slightly low in the video!

  • Hi and thanks for your video! the text in your video is better than anyone else's! You used a very small screen region but though I've done that and followed all instructions, I'm still getting horrible quality text!!

Only .swf format is good- but no-go for Youtube so how do you get such a great quality using Camstudio - or did you actually make that video with Camtasia?!

What font do you use? please tell the secret with another video!

    all the best, Miranda

  • just save to my computer, when it's afer the name click the more options and make sure the vid is less than 50 mega bites or less. It's a lot easier.

  • OR if you want to make (like you said in the presentation) video for the web, set the output stream to FLV (flash video). But it's nice of you to show others how to do this, and I respect that. As long as you know I'm only giving you some tips since you seem interested in creating video's for presentation.

Sorry if my grammar doesn't make sense, It's not my native language. And I needed to split up my comment =)

  • This could be distracting from the actual presentation. I usually use a default gray background with the dock hidden (i use osx) and no extra programs except for the one I am going to show, or code I am going to show. What I usually do is set the resolution to 1024x768 and output codec on .mov with either H264 or .avi with a XVID codec, since no default installation of Windows can playback .mov files and most users install 3th party codecs.

  • Looks like an 'Camtasia' clone, wich is nice to see an (open source) version of applications like that! I've made (php, sql) video casts before and you might want to write down or memorize what you want to say before you record it. It's not criticisms or whatever, just a tip =). Other thing you might want is to create a new user with minimal desktop settings. In the video you showed there is a clutter of icons, a wallpaper etc.
