  • where are you standing while doing this? that seems like the best view !

  • on the left corner of the show...yup the best position...

  • Alright! Thanks for all the help, man. I really appreciate it. The process seems kind of meticulous, but the video generally looks great. I'm actually going to hold off on buying an HD camcorder for now though because I recently saw that some high-MP digital cameras take HD video too (SD780) for not a whole lot more. I'm going to wait until Canon and Canon release the pinnacle of their new lines and new firmware to see what that amounts to, since I've heard the 581v's pictures could be better.

  • I really haven't tried any 3rd party editors...i have only been uploading the raw .mov files...it includes arcsoft total media extreme but I havent installed it.

I'm thinking of using mp4cam2avi ver 2.83 (i heard it converts the mov file to avi without any lossof quality or compression) then i will use virtualdub to edit.

yeah this cam is awesome! i can fit 4 hours into my 16gb sd card. and a full cahrge battery will record 2hr continuous.

    I bought a replacement battery for $4

  • I'm really loving your videos. This cam's a very serious candidate. Does it work with Sony Vegas?

  • Also i just posted another 1080 vid...I noticed if i changed these 2 settings in the menu the video playback is smoother.

    TV format - PAL

    frequency - 50hz

I guess the video electronics inside is PAL but because its sold in the US the software is set to NTSC.

  • sorry bout that...didnt know my cousin logged in on my computer,,,i replied using his username hehe

  • I found this in a forum:

To summarise, I take my MP4 AVC/AAC files, pre-convert them to AVI's with MP4Cam2AVI and then finally convert with Elecard AVCHD convertor. The two stage process is a bit of a problem but the first is very quick and I get MPEG2 .ts files which work perfectly in Vegas. Just drop them straight to the timeline/trimmer.
