  • I love your channel so much!!!! So many people stick to only one genre without realizing that books are books and they all rock!

  • Have you read The Giver by Lois Lowry? That's a really good dystopia novel.

  • Great review for shades of grey, i will be reading it soon. What kind of camera do you use to record your videos?

  • i feel exactly the same about The Death Cure. I loved the first two books but I was disappointed by the last one.

  • It's funny, but I actually quite like The Death Cure, I felt that it was a very fitting ending to the series. But now that I listen to your review I see where it did become lazy in some parts.

  • i wanted to ask the shades of gray it's 18 and up does it have mature content or it's just the language ??? please answer T_T i need to know before i buy it

  • Oh my god, Priscilla, that intro is friggin adorable.

  • I'm feeling really silly for not being able to ever see the annotations O.o where exactly are they?

  • @rvb23 They're at the bottom of the video. They look like buttons. :)

  • I like the new format but change the book reviews into weekly individual reviews.

  • Haven't read the Maze Runner series, but insert Katniss' name into what you were saying about Thomas and that is *exactly* how I felt about Mockingjay.

  • Hey guys im new to youtube and i was hoping you guys can check out my channel!!! Thank you and please check out my channel!!!:)

  • You should do videos in 720p or 1080p! The editing and color correction is so good, it deserves HD quality.

  • After reading your post on tumblr, I LOVE the new format. I'm excited to get to see different videos from you. I love hearing your opinions in your "Let's Talk" videos and the tags you do. I think its going to be a great change. :)

  • Have you read "Sisters Red"? It's an awesome book. I'd love to hear your opinion! :)

  • Shades of gray sounds like a book a should read!

  • @thereadables love your reviews, succinct, insightful, and have gotten me to diversify my reading choices!

  • Okay, now I've read you post on tumblr, and I have to say - you totally won me over! I guess I just didn't know what to expect before, but now I understand the changes, and it sounds awesome :D I'm sorry if it seems like everyone is hating on the change, because change is good! It's cool that you're doing something different. And I would lovelovelove to see some new and creative bookvideos + more let's talk vids.

Keep doing what you're doing! Now I'm really excited about The Readables 2.0 :)

  • hei Priscilla, i love your tumblr and video book review, good job and i'm inspired. nice to meet you :))

  • Priscilla!! I finished The Fault in our Stars. It was amazing, a must read!!- Justin

  • @Frosty27302 Glad you enjoyed the read! I'm probably the only one who HAS the book, and hasn't read it yet... :|

  • I happened to stop by Chapters and was pleased to find Shades of Grey on the bargain shelf!! I enjoyed your review and will now read it :) Have you read the Thursday Next series ...I love them!

  • I simply just adore your videos. Very detailed reviews! I'm thinking about reading "Shades of grey". Would you say it's hard to read? English is not my first language and the english books I read is YA. :)

  • @missburn Kind of... Some of the world-building aspects/vocabulary took me awhile to figure out and visualize. Overall it was very well written. :)

  • Hi! Dunno if you remember me, I totally understand if you don't lol, I recognized you on the street the other day, sorry for saying "hi I watch you on youtube, BYE!" I was in a hurry but I got so excited that I saw you lol (couldn't help but feel like a creep afterwards =P)

Anyways I think you're doing an awesome job, this a bit of a change, but I'm not one to judge! Change is good! Happy reading! (ps, SO happy someone else has read the Devouring series!)

  • @RedCandle1989 Of course I remember you, how could I forget! :D I was pretty excited too, that was the first time I met anyone in person who watches my videos. lol

Thanks so much, I appreciate it! YES. The Devouring series is amazing!

  • @thereadables SPOILERS FOR THE DEATH CURE:

Why don't you like the ending? I mean, sure it wasn't a fairytale ending, but it was pretty realistic. Sometimes, things don't end happy. Sometimes, It ends bittersweet. That's how the LOTR ended. (MAJOR SPOILER) Is it because Newt and Teresa died? Sometimes favorite characters are killed off. It happens in a lot of series

  • I think your new format is great and thanks for explaining it in detail on your tumblr. It's great that you care about what your viewers think, however it's your channel and you should do whatever you think is best.

I'm already excited for your next videos. Happy Reading!

  • Thanks everyone for your feedback, concerns, and suggestions! If you're main concern of wanting separate reviews is so you can watch certain ones (to avoid spoilers or details of the book), I understand! I've added annotations at the bottom, so you can go straight to that review if you wish. Feel free to watch the other reviews at a later time.

I've posted an entry on my tumblr further explaining the new format of my channel, and insight as to why. I've left a link to that in the description :)

  • @thereadables well, I love the new format!! You put a lot of effort in your videos and that shows! And I read your post on tumlr and I love the ideas for the new videos with recepies ect!! :D

  • @MiriamMiriamV Thanks so much, I'm excited for the changes! :)

  • You didn't talk about getting noticed! :D or recognized, I should say.

  • I just wanted to say that your reviews are amazing. Please keep making awesome videos :D

  • @powertoanna Thank you! :)

  • Alison*

  • I just read the book Eon by Alisom Goodman last week, and just finished Eona today. It was fantastic. Such an amazing duology.

  • @MarisaAnn5 Great to hear! I can't wait to read it :)

  • I absolutely loved Shades of Grey! Japer Fforde is a genius! Have you read his Thursday Next series? If not, you should, it's wonderful. I've seen Farenheit 451 quite a long time ago, I want to read it now, thanks to your review. :-D. Also, I agree with you on the Maze Runner series. I hate when authors back track and right prequels.

  • @suemoro I definitely have to look into that series! I'm so glad to have read one of his books! :D

  • what's the link to your goodreads account?

  • @twilight4ever1417 The link is on my main channel page, in the description.

  • I'm almost halfway done with The Death Cure and I agree with you. The characters are frustrating and it's not as good as the previous books.

  • I remember for my A'level in English Lit I wrote my final paper on comparing the dystopian visions of Ray Bradbury, George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. I did this about 100 years ago and had forgotten all about it until this video!

PS - I am a graphic designer too.

  • I just read The Maze Runner triology in the past few days but omg! amazing. I guess the Death Cure was a bit disappointing/rushed but I loved it regardless, and now I definitely need to check out Shades of Grey.

  • I have to add my voice to those saying they preferred having your reviews spaced out!

I absolutely love Jasper Fforde, one of my favourite authors for a long time, and you're getting me excited about picking up Shades of Grey. I made a promise that I would finish my TBR pile before I would get any new books, but I might just have to break the rules!

  • Hey Priscilla! The quality of your videos has really gotten better! Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the others about spacing out the book reviews. Putting them all into one video feels really crammed. Also, I wanted to skip the review on The Maze Runner because I want to read it and that was a bit tedious. And having the movie review be after the book review would be better so we kind of know what the plot is like. Whatever you do though, your reviews are still amazing! Keep it up!

  • @softball43va Thanks for your feedback! I'll be adding annotations to future In Conclustion vids so you have the ability to watch reviews you want. :)

    Cheers!

  • i love the coloring of your videos. :)

  • Shades of Grey sound great, I'm going to definitely check it out! Love your reviews<3

  • Dang it you are just so pretty!

I know I keep saying this every video, but it's true! You bring out the creepiness in me!

  • Looking forward to the February Book Haul. Sorry to hear that the last of the "Maze Runner" books was disappointing, hope the prequel redeems the series. I will consider buying "Fahrenheit 451" the book, and give "Shades of Grey" a look. Good Video Priscilla.

  • @sfighter991 Thank you! I'm very excited for February. A theme I didn't decide till recently. X)

  • I'm a new subscriber, and I have to say that you are really getting me back into reading books :) I also really love the pacing and set up of you videos.

  • @beautybudget88 Thanks so much! :) I hope you have a great reading year!

  • do you have tumblr? if so please check out my page;

    ilyjoannaaa.tumblr.com

  • Please review "The Night Circus" By Erin Morgenstern. It's been marketed as the next Twilight and Harry Potter. Who knows, you may really like it.

  • Great reviews...I really like the way you did the finger and the stars appear...:) LOL

  • I really want to read Fahrenheit 451

    Thanks for the reviews :)

  • I NEED to read The Maze Runner.

  • I LOVED the first two books but wasn't a big fan of the last book in the Maze runner series.

  • Another great video !!.. Looking forward to the next one as always !! :0)

  • I actually enjoyed The Death Cure. There were some parts that were hard to read cause some of my fav characters go threw some tough spots. I found the ending very sad but slightly uplifting. I also would have like to learned more about the secret orgainzations. It was very Mockingjay like but I actually enjoyed Mockingjay. Its different and not like the 1st 2 and the same could be said here. The Scorch Trails however is easly the best in the series for me. I'm looking forward to The Kill Order.

  • @slashermoviereviews I definitely wanted more answers for sure! I agree, this last book was quite different than the first two.

  • Gah! I just started the Maze Runner trilogy..I'm on The Scorch Trials..now I'm kind of nervous that I will be disappointedl

  • @jsnail89 You never know, there seems to be a split reaction on goodreads with The Death Cure. Hopefully you'll fare better with it than I did! :)

  • Loved the reviews! Now I kind of skeptical to read the Maze Runner trilogy, but alas I will :-)

& Might have to pick up Shades of Grey as well

  • @Bookables Try it out. I liked the first 2 books a lot. Maybe the third will gel better with you. :)

    Shades of Grey is great!

  • I've been a silent viewer for a while, but I thought I should comment to commend you on your exceptional book reviewing skills and awesome editing. Keep iit up, love your videos!

  • @jamiechoi I appreciate it, thank you so much! ^__^

  • Kudos of the amazing editing and animations! I love your creativity, Priscilla! =)

  • @jazzer53 Thanks so much!

  • Like always I love your reviews but i do have to confess that i preferred it when you did individual reviews than everything together. I had keep skipping the video because I am going to read 'The Maze Runner' soon and din't want any know anything about the book. And also I liked your book and movie month videos where you spoke 1st about the book and then the movie. I am sorry but that's what I felt.

  • @eternalangel11 Thanks for your input. I will be adding annotations to future In Conclusion vids so you can watch whichever review you'd like. :)

  • great reviews! Now i really wanna check out shades of grey...sounds amazing!

  • I don't mind the one long review however annotations to skip between parts might bennifit some that do not like each.

  • @ThePlatypodes Thanks so much for that suggestion! Done, and done.

  • What's the title of this Distopyian novel where the community is devided by the languages they speak and that there is this person that understands other languages?

  • @auag19 I think it's The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

  • @nancydrewgeek YES it is! ThnQ :)

  • @auag19 This book sounds so cool!

  • I saw the film Fahrenheit 451 in school and was so troubled for weeks I just can't make myself read it - too disturbing! But that already shows you how amazing the story is, to influence its audience like that.

  • @1book1review Definitely! The book is quite intense thought, I do recommend check it out. :)

  • Love the Intro!!

  • Love love love Jasper Fforde. Shades of Grey is my least favourite of his books, I mean it's still better than most over books but some of Jasper Fforde's other works are soooooooooo good...

  • @SableCaught I can't wait to read more of his work! Really great author. What books would you recommend by him? :)

  • @thereadables His Thursday Next series is definitely my favourite, it's so astoundingly clever, so astoundingly funny. Then again it takes a little while to get into it. I always make sure people read at least the first two books, because the first one's not as polished at the rest of them and it's only in the second one that the main over arching plot really establishes itself. The first two are The Eyre Affair and Lost in a Good Book. They must be read!

  • GAH, I was really upset with The Death Cure. The ending was so random and unbelievable. Thomas's reaction to everything was so uncharacteristic. And what had they done to poor Teresa? :/

  • @Yvaia YES. I was confused with the last half of the book. OTL

  • I really want to read Fahrenheit 451. It's already on my 2012 list!

And I also want to read Shades of Gray. I'll have to see how I can find an english version here, but I love this kind of book. I really do!

    Love your videos :)

  • do you have a goodreads account?

  • @Bellaful900 I do! The link is on my main page.

  • Can't wait for the prequel in the maze runner series!!! Nice video!

  • Lips

  • After watching this video, i decided that im gonna check out the fahrenheit 149 and shades of grey at my local bookstore! They really sound like a good books to read! Ur an amazing book reviewer! Keep it up x

  • Thumbs Up!!

  • I completely agree with your Death Cure review. This book was a pile of shuck-face klunk! :(

  • Comment removed

  • Wonderful video as always, Priscilla! If I might make a suggestion though, I think spacing out the book reviews (and putting the movie review after the book with the movie adaptation) would be...not exactly easier, but not as crunched together, I suppose? :)

  • @TheMetalheadBookworm Thanks, Melissa! I definitely like the idea of movie review after the book/movie adaptation review. :D Thanks for your suggestions!

  • The Death Cure unreadable? :( I loved it!

  • @MsElskie For me anyways OTL

Glad you enjoyed it though! :)

  • I love the Intro!!!

  • I always want to read all the books you talk about!

  • @hi3uu Do it! :)

  • Awesome video, Priscilla! :D Hope you're having a good week. :) After watching this, I am definitely going to pick up Shades of Grey soon! It seems awesome. Oh, and I like the editing on this one!

  • @PureDragon100 Thanks, James! I am, it's been super busy. X) Shades of Grey is great, definitely a book that needs to be re-read.

    Have a good weekend! :)

  • @thereadables Hope you get a break soon! I'm going back to school tomorrow, so I'll be busy as well. It was my birthday last week, so I have lots of money to spend on books. I'm thinking of buying Shades of Grey with that money. (Hopefully!)

    You too!

  • Great video, as always. Sorry to hear that "The Death Cure" didn't really work for you, it's always bad when that happens with the last book in a trilogy.

Love the thing with the stars that appear, so cool and cute :)

  • @abouthappybooks Thanks so much. I was super sad how The Death Cure ended ;__;

  • UGH! always the last book in the series that kills it =(

  • Yay! Nice long video :) But I too like the weekly bookreviews better. Not because I don't like long videos (I love them), only because I want more videos, and more to look forward too, not just one at the beginning/end of the moth (that I know you'll upload).

Anyways. Can't wait for your February book-haul! Also I have to say, you looked like you had such a good time "pointing" out the stars! hahaha :)

  • @angellmarlene Thanks for your input. I'm still doing weekly videos, that's not changing. :)

Me too! I think I over did it with the book buying again -__-; But hopefully I can read them all.

  • I bought shades of grey cause of you but yet to read it but loved lived loved the fault in our stars!

  • I wanna read shades of gray now!

  • I was skeptical about the one video review thingy, at first, but you handled it very well and it was a VERY pleasant surprise, as always. Keep the great videos coming!!! : )

  • @TheVeronikaification Thanks so much! ^__^

  • Comment removed

  • You are an amazing book reviewer! Please, NEVER STOP!

  • I started writing book reviews this year and it is a lot of work! I'm sure making video book reviews is even more time consuming, so thank you so much for what you do!

  • @CassCassMcG Thanks, I appreciate it! :)

  • book haul againnnn plzzzz

  • @87nuralina Patience, grasshopper.

  • AWESOME REVIEW, MANY THANKS AND I WISH YOU THE BEST IN UR STUDIES ^_^

  • how many books have you read ?

  • @LittleMiss0wl I've only read 3 books for January. But if you mean since I started this channel/little before that, I would say just over 100?

  • @thereadables ohh cool :O :D ! so what would be your top 10 ?

  • Sam as @kiwifruitfig, I also liked your old/original format where you posted one review a week. I feel a bit overwhelmed when all the reviews are in one video. But nevertheless, great video, Priscilla! Sorry you were disappointed by The Death Cure, but I hope the greatness of Shade of Grey made up for it. Can't wait to see what you're going to do for next month!

  • I enjoyed getting reviews scattered throughout the month better :(

  • You need an Opti-Grab. :)

  • I loved The Death Cure.

  • @SynchronizedReading Glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • I think the original format of doing separate reviews for each book was better. I also think that the movie reviews should come after the book reviews so that there's a greater comparison of the two mediums. I dunno, just my thoughts!

  • @KiwifruitFig I have to agree. I liked seeing the separate reviews throughout the month. And I do like the movie vs book videos all in one. As always, I love how you break down the aspects of the book when you review!

  • @KiwifruitFig I love the production value, it's awesome. But I agree about the separate reviews :( Still super good tho, Priscilla!

  • @KiwifruitFig LIKE 1000X

  • @KiwifruitFig Thanks for your input! Doing the book review first before the movie review and then compare together is a great idea. Thanks! :)

  • guh, there is nothing worse than investing your time and emotions into an entire series and being totally let down by the last book. Boo, I say. BOOOOOO

  • @BunnyCates YES. It's been awhile since I've finished a series, and for the most part I've been having bad luck with the last book D:

  • First! At first I was like, how can you do an in conclusion without Death Cure review!! AHH! =O all better now! I'm on the 2nd one almost done so excited for the 3rd one! :)

  • @payalas Hope you fare better with The Death Cure than I did. :)
