  • i love this song

  • Joni just rips you open like a bullet through a bean tin.

  • I love everything she does, and this is one of the best! For those of you who haven't sat down and listened to the whole "Night Ride Home" album, you are in for a treat!

  • get the travel lodge version

  • I'm bursting with joy to just find out that Karen Peris of The Innocence Mission sang backup on this song.

  • I live in Saskatoon, just 4 blocks from the Broadway Bridge spoken of in the song. About 8 blocks from her old highschool. Can you tell I love her alot, bragging like this. Our population includes about 30% native people. Her freind "Cherokee" Louise was obviously treated with racisim back then. That problem is getting better all the time. Actually all the Natives are Cree and Blackfoot. Cherokees are from South. USA. Anyway, another great song. A favorite of mine.

  • @terrybeaton Hi Terry!! Thank you for your comment!! I'm trying to translate this song...my favorite too,

I'm just looking at the pictures of the bridge on google...fine!!

This song is so sweet and sad...musically divine, I was curious as to the content of this song

thank for info and excuse my bad English!

  • @friday61 Hi Friday, I don't know what language you are translating it into but I imagine it is challenging. It's so poetic, (like all her songs) and uses alot of colloquial language. "Tounges are waggin' over fences, waggin' over phones". I speak french, if that's a help!

  • @terrybeaton Hi Terry........Italian language!! Yes it is challenging!!!

    I speak German and Italian....:-(

  • joni ... wayne...blessings both...!

  • i want to dedicate this song to lauren ann kathleen capner my close friend who lost her luke green boyfriend a today Ps, I love you. RIP babyboy.

  • The way this song starts.. it always kindof enters my soul ... Joni's my favourite... such a fascinating woman..still

But its Wayne shorter makes this song ..... no doubt..

  • comprimary? what does that mean? or did you mean complementary?

  • @rennzzo ...please ask FuMoNoSmoke for "comprimary voice" (?)

  • Wayne shorter soprano sax is an indispensable unique comprimary voice. Two genius in a great song.

  • I adore this song..Thank you for posting it..Thank you Joni Mitchell and musicians for all the years of telling the stories of our lives...a very real blessing..

  • Cool and laid-back jazzy track. I like it!
