    because upgrades are definitely way cheaper for a chevy than a toyota,

    and Vettes cost less (any vette short of the new c6), and are faster

    and you ricers always talk about power/weight ratio.

    well, that's what makes the Vette superior to the Supra

  • @kageryu311 Not necessarily... Have to remember the supra went to 2002 for japanese models.. The most noticeable difference engine wise would be the VVT(5/10hp gain and lower torque and spool times) which by now we all know has to be disabled with big cam profiles. I do know you can still reach some pretty good numbers though with the VVT enabled with stock cams. Though we couldn't get them, doesn't mean the two cars still wouldn't battle each other on the track.

  • @69C10lowrider I drag race too in both of my street cars lol. A two step and anti-lag which are both offered in the AEM engine management system that the Supra has would allow it to get in boost. That combined with slicks and skinnies would allow it to take down the Vette from a dig too lol. :)

  • @marc99gt depends on the blower and tune yes t/c are efficient but that doesn't mean it's SAFELY efficient...S/C's ARE UNITS THAT CAN KEEP A WELL TUNED ENGINE INSIDE OF A POWER BAND WITH MORE PRECISION THAN ANY TURBO. Leech effect is welcome anyday over lag/turbo failure.

  • @Speedmccool385bitch Superchargers fail just as much as turbos do. Plus they also generate more heat than turbos do in most setups. put a turbo on a vette vs a supercharger on a vette and the turbo vette will be more efficient in everything. Its different to say with different cars.

  • @kageryu311 I want to believe that so bad but it's just turbos generate power via exhaust right and exhaust is hot so I'm gonna go out on a limb and try to poke a whole in the theory of s/c building more heat. The sup on my s/c tbird works just fine and love the whine + it's a 89 lol 21yrs and counting. Turbs have 2many moving parts, efficiency and precision are to different things t/c=efficient s/c=precision.

  • @Speedmccool385bitch There are many cars with turbos that last long. As long as the car is tuned properly it will last long if not longer than a car with a supercharger. There are many factors that are placed into that.

  • @kageryu311 true... but all the plumbing/hardware just seems like too much of a hassle. T/C's are great power adders, but you just gotta love that whine that a S/C gives you plus centifugal sups are starting to put out around the same psi as some turbs now...they're both great but I just prefer the s/c more. the tuning/install is just way easier. I get were you're coming from and your right about efficiency with an exhaust powered turbine.

  • @Speedmccool385bitch - most eaton based chargers on gm's and some fords are not good. Most came unintercooled and known to blow early. Eaton top mounts also allow heat to soak in quite rapidly. Most units are only 4-5psi. Superchargers require loads of power just to make positive boost. Also put undue stress on the crank (usually front crank bearing). With proper sized turbo/turbo's You can get rid of most of the lag. Lag also can make a big hp car more streetable, where a s/c is harder to do it

  • @zcarporn Ok. I'm a S/C fan I LOVE THEM. I NEVER said t/c's where bad. I like precision, plain and simple, and I love the whine. AGAIN there are centrifugal s/c's out that put out around the same boost as SOME t/c's. The reason I favor the sups over the turbs is the INSTANT POWER you get there's a s/c vette vs t/c GT3. Spool up gave the launch "W" 2da Porsche roll out vette DOMINATED. perfect compare and contrast.

  • @Speedmccool385bitch - i like both, one just more potential then the other in a certain range while the other does the same, but in a different range. centrifugal s/c's are rarely come on stock cars (factory wise, kinda why i mentioned eaton as a example). Also i live in a climate where we get snow and so on, instant power isnt the best way to maintain street-ability, but the same can be said for turbo's. New tech like variable-vein turbo's miminize the lag and are getting pretty close to s/c's

  • @zcarporn I can respect that. I stay in Michigan and tend to love the instant power in the snow...lol. Tires with alot of grip, all wheel, and a supercharged whatever in anything. You can always make a custom cog setup for everything on the front with a differential type setup...sounds crazy right? but think about the stress elimination. That had nothing to do with anything just wanted to type it.

  • @Speedmccool385bitch - i'm in canada, i got cold n snow covered :P As for centrifugal, they use thick ass plates 2reduce that issue, but now ur stuck with extra weight. Superchargers would be 100% more better if you could change the psi on the fly like a turbo does. Must change a pully to do so. On top of the belts are a weak point as well. I like either way SC or TC, depends on the application and so on. Turbo's for me are easier 2setup. More OEM cars are TC vs SC as well for a reason ;) jk

  • its funny how the supra has all the stats and is almost fully tuned and upgraded but the vette isn't any special vette at all. Lets see a 811 rwhp vette with a turbo an see the results. These supra vids are all the same. they're cool and all but people make them look and sound better than they actually are. Real Talk No BULLSHIT

    Oh and heres a link dude. This is the real deal. Forged 347 with a Vortec T Trim supercharger and a built tranny. It was definately far from stock. I'm putting a similar setup on my Z06 except I'm using a Paxton.

    All in all give credit where credit is due. The Supra won the race and Corvette lost the race it happens.
