    Regards from Sweden.

  • WOW.

    TEACH ME YOUR WAYS.

Is just the E dropped to D, or is the whole guitar in open D tuning?

  • You're a hell of a player man! So much tone and vibe. You deserve an A+ do you have any tips on the tuned settings besides the Capo. Slide guitar harmonica and a great mojo amp what a thrill! Great stuff

  • I like this........ j'aime ca ste style la .... jenre blues rock .... j'aime bein le style jenre george thorogood ou johnny winter ....

  • I really like your tone.. That counts for all of your posted videos :)

    Nice playin'

  • my kinda slide

  • you are in dropped D, capo second fret, you're playing in E, am I correct?

  • the low e string which was drop tuned is back to e, but then the rest of the strings are a step up, so no, its not regular tuning.

  • Whoo hoo!!

    Excellent stuff!

    Cheers.

  • This is just totally sublime Kirk, I really haven't heard slide like this with so much passion for a long long time! Harry

  • @Lansdownekid ... Thanks, Harry!

  • @Lansdownekid

    Cheers Harry!!

  • awesome kirk you are a great player taste tone and feel all the things that make a great player you have in bucket loads *****

  • dropped D tuning huh ? Sounds great!

    What strings do ya use?

  • Heavy! 016 - 018 - 024 - 034 - 044 - 054

  • unbelievable

    very nice ;-)

  • Holy crap! That's some very nice playing man! Love this kind of music..

  • Fu$k ya! Dude you play good!!! thank you very much!!!

  • How high is your action?

I have real trouble playing slide on an electric due to the action being to low for slide and if I raise it to a height that alows me to slide with out banging off the frets then I can't finger the strings...

  • you are very good musician )

  • what year is that strat?

how long have you been playing?

sounds great man. not too much of this, or too little of that...

  • Thanks, Siolazi. That's an early 60's Strat, I've been playing since 1961

  • i have treid slide guitar using my hardon ...im not lying, i treid it, could only pull off a couple of notes though

  • c'mon blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i was waiting for the note in statesboro blues in the intro. Its the same riff

  • woow

    thats a sexy guitar :D

  • haha i love blues guitar with a slide added to it, i think its one of the coolest sounding things you can do with a guitar

  • I second this, there is nothing better then the blues imo... Its sets my soul on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • unreal very sweet blues brilliant guitar work, ive never really heard much of this kinda stuff before but damm it makes wanna start learning slide.

  • Excellent - but also it encompasses everything i always hated about blues music as i heard it when i was a kid (now i'm peculiarly drawn to it). Where's the friggin soul spirit or musicality in a dry technical excercise of expertise though - nice one - but not for me thanks.

  • every time i*ll eat an Orange, i*ll think about your sliddddddddddding

  • parabén !!!!!!! muitoooooooo bom!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where did u get the background sound? :)

  • dmnd good blues for mr. Bluesbelly1

  • Great times two!

  • Great!

  • Ill never try bottleneck again in my whole life :D !!

  • f*kin AMAZING :)

  • holy shit this is damn fine work

  • is the backing track, "walking be myself" by Gary Moore?

  • damn man, you brought my screen on FIRE ! keep on rockin' with that bottle neck

  • With how great this is, I don't know how it doesn't have at least 100,000 views by now!

  • if you slide up past the frets you get the coolest sound ever

  • lol it's the kind of sound Jimi Hendrix would have been proud of:P

  • wow ;) make better videos and you'll be new Youtube Star or even more who knows ;)

  • This is one of the BEST I have seen in recent weeks! 5 Stars man!

  • can you say 'chord tones?'

  • Holy crap!!! Do people know about this guy?

  • Wow wouldn't you wanna rock with this guy!!

    awesome!!

  • nice tone

  • There were a few points at which it sounded like you were channeling a muted trumpet from some older style blues and jazz. Real nice!

  • Excellent Slide work. Kirk is damn good. Killer tone. Killer phrasing. Also excellent harp in the background. Lets see/hear some more

  • great stuff - send him over to Europe please

  • Kirk Is a great Aussie legend!

  • häftiga grejjer

  • Love this slide work, real great tune too.

  • I have been hammering at slide for a lot of years..I know it doesn't show..but Kirk has more control, dexterity, and placement perfection than ANY slide player I have ever seen. WAY better than Derek Trucks..the only better player (and I have studied all of them) is Duane Allman.

  • This guy is awesome, no doubt, incredible feel, dexterity and timing. but WAY better than Derek? Are you crazy? Dude, unless you're this guys mother you need to listen a little more carefully

  • I saw Derek when he was 15..I saw him about six months ago in Orlando..he ain't that hot, he's noisy and is limited to open E tuning. Kirk dampens ALL the strings except the ones he is using, you need to listen a little closer try this /watch?v=SysY0h5QmuE

  • In response to the comment about trucks.HE IS THE SLIDE KING.Seen him play couple of months ago and he is awesome!

  • I would love to see Kirk (planetalk) and

    Fretkillr jam.. wooo hooo... !!!

  • Loved it. Great slide ;o)

  • Kirk can crack a walnut with his pinky...;)

  • I've never heard that one. ;o)

  • Allman Brothers feel. I like it.

  • Just a question on the capo. Is there a reason why you don't put it a the neck the other way around?

I used to hate a capo because it got in the way of my hand. Until I realized I had it put on the (I thought) wrong way. Now I see you having it in that awkward way as well. Am I missing something?

BTW: Thanks for your great work!

  • NO it's on right lol

  • Wow !!

  • great sense of rhytm and musicality :DDDDDD love ya :P

  • Very Tasty Kirk.

  • very cool..!

  • I'd slide with you anywhere..Great technique..Bravo

    Melody/Montreal

  • Great Style Kirk, do you mess 8 string lap steel?

  • Thanks! I'm in dropped D (D A D G B E) ... I did a DVD on how to play in this tuning.

  • how do I get the DVD..??

    Thanks

  • what tuning is that? awesome stuff!

  • hey man i like this !!!!
