Given the dire situation that the US faces for all possible scenarios such as a dollar collapse, deflation or hyperinflation, would you ever cash in your precious metals for federal reserve notes? Seems like most people would want to hold on to their precious metals in hyperinflation or a post dollar collapse event. In either case, they can trade their PM for real estate or other commodities.

I doubt I'll still be able to pay for food, utilities, property taxes, etc DIRECTLY with silver, but will instead have to turn them into (the hyperdeflated) fiat currency at that time to purchase.

SGT, the reason gold and silver dropped last week despite the fall in the dollar probably has to do with, among a few other things, the fact that China recently increased its bank reserve requirements in an attempt to stymie the out of control price inflation engendered by the Yuan being pegged to the dollar. There is talk that silver sales has sky rocketed in the first part of Jan to an amazing 3.4 million ounces and large holders have removed several million of ounces from the Comex, yet the price softens. If true, this is the kind of power they have to manipulate. Yes, PM's are good, yet not a guaranteed store of wealth other than for the long term and for excessive wealth. Investing in precious metals can be a leap of faith, and as a result people can become very dogmatic regarding the positive outlook, only listening to that which supports and does not threaten there faith. I currently have a lot of faith in PM's but it pays to listen to those that do not to stay balanced.

Given the dire situation that the US faces for all possible scenarios such as a dollar collapse, deflation or hyperinflation, would you ever cash in your precious metals for federal reserve notes? Seems like most people would want to hold on to their precious metals in hyperinflation or a post dollar collapse event. In either case, they can trade their PM for real estate or other commodities.

I doubt I'll still be able to pay for food, utilities, property taxes, etc DIRECTLY with silver, but will instead have to turn them into (the hyperdeflated) fiat currency at that time to purchase.

SGT, the reason gold and silver dropped last week despite the fall in the dollar probably has to do with, among a few other things, the fact that China recently increased its bank reserve requirements in an attempt to stymie the out of control price inflation engendered by the Yuan being pegged to the dollar. It amazes me that the Chinese don't seem to understand that their problems are self-inflicted. The way to stop inflation is to - what else? - STOP INFLATING!

Seeing the spot price and the price of physical diverge significantly is possible, in fact it's very likely. I can imagine a situation where the physical premium is 100% above the spot price.

There is talk that silver sales has sky rocketed in the first part of Jan to an amazing 3.4 million ounces and large holders have removed several million of ounces from the Comex, yet the price softens. If true, this is the kind of power they have to manipulate. Yes, PM's are good, yet not a guaranteed store of wealth other than for the long term and for excessive wealth. @Jarzelez So the dollar has been off the gold standard for about five decades now has it? Gold has no impact on the US currency? Really? Why do you think they unplugged the dollar from Gold in 1971 then? I suggest you do a little reading on the subject of monetary history first before you wade in like a peacock spouting non-truths like that.

@Jarzelez Jarzelez......I would highly advise you to go do some research before stepping in here and attacking the integrity of SGTBULL07.....he is a man of extreme honesty, morals, and with infinite patriotism for his Republic. He is not a seller of gold or silver, and does not gain one iota by making these videos....except the ability to sleep well at night knowing he is spreading truth and trying to help people. Go get an education before you come to this site again.

@Jarzelez You have a fair point. People shouldn't assume other people have authority because they are talented doco makers, and should keep an open mind. Investing in precious metals can be a leap of faith, and as a result people can become very dogmatic regarding the positive outlook, only listening to that which supports and does not threaten there faith. I currently have a lot of faith in PM's but it pays to listen to those that do not to stay balanced.

@Jarzelez The facts as we find them should be scary. The disconnect between PM's and the dollar is temporary and artificial. The market always wins in the end. Although not the only way to store wealth, the history of money is carved in gold.
