I just bought mine, and noticed that a year later, they have upgraded to a 1.6ghz duo core atom processor... will there be a noticable improvement in speed over the early reviews of the tablet features, or will the difference in processor be minimal. I am not that familer with laptop specs, so I don't know how to feel about it.

@TheChocopop202 It has windows by default, but you can put Ubuntu on it if you like. Another reviewer demonstrated this in his video. There are special kinds of Ubuntu that are touch-friendly and built for netbooks.

@polvereoro86 I do not Have the dell inspiron duo, but I do have the normal inspiron.. I'm not sure how similar they are other than the company, the name, and one is touch screen. But on my normal inspiron, the fan is for the most part quiet, but when the laptop does start to get pretty hot, the fan will be extremly loud... but as long as you don't put in on your bed or carpet for along time, it normally wont get that hot. Its been in my lap for about one hour or two and it has been quiet...

Hello I Purchased a Acer Aspire 9300 few years back. I have had quite big issues with it and I am wishing to sell it and purchase this laptop. I am just wondering is this notebook perfect for the following:

Windows Live Messenger, Social networking, iTunes. I noticed you are using Mozzila Firefox so that is no worry then :)

I am only 15 and the things I previously said I just use and nothing more

would this be a good move?

I was into this concept, but as I use my netbook to work it wouldn't do as it doesn't have HDMI or PC connection. How would I connect it on datashow to perfomr presentations?

I really don't get how they'd leave it without those basic functions! Specially if you think about its multimidia purposes, it's really a shame IMO.

I know you can get a USB adaptor, but then I'll wait for a more complete device while my netbook is still working fine.

the only good thing about this machine is the screen and the flipping mech.

The mb/kb body is very cheap look/feel. It's nothing more than a cheap asian netbook. The screen is slightly better but the touch is very slow comparing to any other tablet may be because of it's sluggish bloatware that are installed.

I did think about buying this for my girlfriend last Christmas, but I went with the Dell Inspiron M101z. It has a dual core processor, 4 gigs of ram, and 320GB hard drive. She loves it and let me tell you, it is impressive and it was a pretty good deal. Rather portable too. :)

@iqao It's called 'Hyper-Threading'. Look it up on Wikipedia. It just means there are really 2, but the computer sees them as 4 to handle things quicker. (takes longer to fill 2 to the max than fill 4 half-way, if that makes sense?)

@wek1991 I called Dell Tech support(they sounded fustrated lol) Yes as NewGadgetsDE said the dell software is sluggish...but when I talked to the Tech support guy he some how reduced the ammount of process from 100+(Alot of bull running on it on the first run) to around 60... and that alone made EVERYTHING run fast!

I originally thought this was the case because I went all over youtube for reviewing this device...and it was just a simple processes issue.lol runs like a new born steroid baby.
