  • This song is one of my personal anthems ( because of my parents, the I;ve cheated, been mistreated lines)

  • Linda is amazing as is this classic Phil Everly song!!

  • Originally an Everly Brothers song and she does it so wonderful!

  • story of my life

  • Her voice is a gift from God......... just an amazing talent. She sets the high water mark for truly gifted singers

  • @Punkgunner......you sound like an idiot, but that's OK! My tastes in music have been questioned too!! Debating music.....almost as dangerous as talkin' religion......or politics!! LOL! :)

  • Rip the audio from this track at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • What a amazing voice!!!

  • Put her in the Rock - Roll Hall of Fame DAMMIT!

One of the biggest injustices of our time is he fact that she's not in there!

  • She rules!

  • I ask myself too since I have no one to love. :(

  • @Yourmomisnthere awwww me an u both lol

  • Great song, maybe Obama's new campaign song! Lol

  • Original was written by the Everly Bros circa 1957-1962 before signing their deal with Warner.

  • Does anyone knows who's written this song, and who's playing the original version. For years I took for granted that the original was by Sandy Denny & the Bunch, but because I've heard so many versions now that I'm getting more and more uncertain. So please, tell me if you know! Thx!

  • @GreatBonFire, "When Will I Be Loved" was written by Phil Everly [of the Everly Brothers].

  • @AGibsonJ Thx! I'll look for theire version next time I'm Spottifysurfin'! I figure they did record it!?

  • @GreatBonFire ---this awesome song was written by PHIL EVERLY

  • Smoked a joint with Waddy as 9/11 was occuring

  • Such a good song. Where'd this music run off to?

  • Love how she controls the band's finish at the end. TALENT, people!

  • was this concert, london late '76? (we're sure we were there)

  • a great song from Ms. Linda

  • this must be before she played Sun City during the boycott due to apartheid....and before she decided to wipe out McDonald's inventory of big macs.

  • @richiguy Aren't you late for a Tea Party?

  • @adcan45 aren't you a racist for supporting apartheid like Linda Ronstadt? must be

  • @richiguy no, I am not a racist; nor do I "support" apartheid; please take your misquided attempt to incite hate to your Tea Party...

  • awesome song... and her voice!!!

  • That kinna talent does not happen by accident.

  • Great vocals - love that twangy guitar too.

  • dear god, the total package

  • Yeah besides her so great voice I mean not only her body and face, I mean all!

    thanks again

  • I used to be in love with Linda big time back in the seventies, I even saw her opening for Neil Young back in the day (73) what a nice looking woman, wow.

    thanks for uploading

  • Great song, great voice one of my fav singers!!

  • GREAT

  • SOOOO SWEEET

  • Been loving this voice since Stone Poneys...wow. Where did 40+ yrs go?

  • @mikefmich Yep!- - all over!..about ready to die= = .. Nothing left but to die and have maggots eating out of our eye-sockets. Have a great day!

  • Now that's what you call singing. Unlike today's artist that sound like they are fucking the mic literally. You don't see em like this anymore

  • Lol This is cowgirl song!

  • Her voice is Amazing!

  • Siobhan mangus has the same sound

  • Siobhan Mangus sounds like Linda Ronstadt...I hope Suibhan sings Blue Bayou

  • I can't hear the song!

  • Did Linda ever marry and have a family ?

  • No she never married but did adopt a child in the 1990's

  • @nyrichiek Thanks for the info about Linda I love her and was just curious.

  • I love this lady..One of my favorite ladies of rock n Roll.

  • Marvellous voice.

  • Roy and Linda did Bayou on Carrot Cover check You Tube and put

Roy and Linda it should come up

  • when will i be loved,linda.

  • I loved this song I can relate, lsm

  • One thing has always bugged me, why two of the greatest singers never released a duet together; that being Linda Ronstadt and Roy Orbison ( r.i.p.).Anything they could have done together would have been unbelievable vocally and musically.

  • @AussiePegasus01 That would have been awesome.

  • @tfurner No h did not. Roy died in 1988.

  • Thanks for sharing this great video!

If you notice, most of the original Eagles are backing her.

  • I don't see any Eagles members. Andrew Gold and Waddy Wachel weren't in the Eagles and that's definitely not Randy Meisner on bass.

  • @lowspark68 That could be Kenny Edwards on bass

  • this should be my theme song

  • lol your funny i love you jk

  • What a voice!! What a God Given Amazing Talent!! Love this song...thanks for posting it!!

  • @SLC11692009 -FIVE AMAZING OCTAVES! Check out Karla Bonoff-who wrote several of linda's songs in the late 70's.

  • @hitchiker441 I love Linda's voice, but NOBODY has a range of five octaves, thank you very much.

  • @theoriginalbadbob, well Linda doesn't but "Yma Sumac recorded an extraordinarily wide vocal range of more than five octaves from B2 to C#7 (approximately 123 to 2270 Hz).", if you trust wikipedia

  • @Toffeeman01 Thanks for the info. I have been aware of Yma Sumac for over 50 years, but didn't realize she had such an amazing range. I'm pretty sure I saw her on a couple of variety shows in the 50s. I checked wikipedia and agree she had a range of 5 octaves, but I question the figure of 2270 cycles. (Why did they change it from cycles to Hertz?) The average man can hear up to 10K CPS, and the average woman up to 12K CPS. The average man SPEAKS under 2K CPS, I believe.

  • @theoriginalbadbob Bad Bob, I suspect your right about the dubiousness of the range in cycles (or hertz) but it might explain the number of dogs that bought Ms Sumac's records :-).

Even though we can't hear much beyond 15Khz the greater range provided by Hi-Fi equipment does allow us to be "aware" of harmonics.

  • @SLC11692009 there is no god

  • @phildirt3 If you there is no god then you are in big time trouble as you are just foolish to think that way .

  • @Sheepbuz and you are a fucking moron

  • @phildirt3 Hope you will enjoy life in the lake of fire as some day you will be there as we all die one day and you will burn with that thinking .

  • @Sheepbuz Right. God's such an ego monster, he'll roast anybody who dares to question His existence. I guess it's true what they say about His making us in His image.

  • @phildirt3 That is to say if you think there is no god then you really are foolish in that thinking as he does care for his people !

  • @Sheepbuz oh bullshit

  • she sings it the best

  • wow mono been awhile since i dealt with that

  • This seems to be my life story!!!! When will I be loved?

  • Linda is perfection on this Phil Everly song!!!!

  • Great voice. She has natural talent! Sings effortless!

  • I love this classic rock song and no one sells it like Linda Ronstadt. I'd love to hear a remastered version of the song that picked up the great drum line.

  • One of my favorite pop, country, rock artists. I loved her ability to cross music genres, and regardless of which type of music she sang, I loved it all. My only wish is that she would have stuck with this formula later in her career. I miss her.

  • This must be from BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test performance (1976). Absolutely gorgeous!

  • That was a fantastic show, wouldn't mind getting hold of the full programme. Come on Whispering Bob (Harris) can you help. Definintely worthy of 5 stars.

  • Linda are you married ? I'd luv a day job. lol

  • I want to say that's Waddy Wachtel on guitar, right?

I know the Eagles were her backup band for a while before they got big themselves.

  • Yes, it is.

  • I think it is Waddy W. in the background. The ginger haired guy is surely Andrew Gold.

  • saw this line up with linda on 1976 uk tour, absolute brilliant gig!.

linda & ann wilson (heart)should both be inducted in r&r hall of fame, they are long overdue!.

  • What year is this from and what is it from?.......I just read that Fogerty's new album will have him singing a duet with Springsteen of this song.......Not sure if it can top Linda's, but it should be good

  • This song was released in 1974 and was on the album "Heart Like a Wheel". It hit the #1 spot on the charts in early 1975. She had the best voice of any female singer I've ever heard to date, Patsy Cline included!

  • Thanks........I was mostly curious about this particular performance, where and when it was recorded. It's awesome....She certainly ruled the charts in my junior high and high school days!

  • I had the damndest crush on her from the time I was 10 years old in 1971 right on through 1982. I have 14 of her albums! People said Stevie Nicks was the first lady back then.....They never looked or listened at Linda!

  • Or, saw the cover of Hasten Down the Wind!

  • On the beach with the see-through....yeah, I looked a hole slap through it!, LMAO!

  • You got dat right MultiBald. By freekin far. What an original she is. Oh Linda baby, you're the best that ever was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    And so damn gorgeous!!!!

  • Fogerty and Springsteen are probably trying to cover the Everly Bros. who first recorded this song.

  • ...and wrote it

  • she has a groovy outfit on.

  • Zooey Deschanel should play Linda in a biographical movie !!!!

  • Super - love some Linda!"!!

  • Nice to revisit this girl's best days. Say it again, nobody like Linda. Clean and real.

  • Linda Ronstadt and Ann WIlson. No one is doing this kind of quality singing anymore.

  • amen to that:)

  • i really fan of Linda and Ann. great musicians!!.

  • Its not stereo...

  • i love this song its amazing

  • i have known about this song for 20 years

  • I've know it close to 40 years.

  • @punkgunner DOOFUS

  • what happened to the stoned ponies

  • Such a beautiful talented artist.

Something the world needs right now.

  • Flawless performance. Like, seriously, not one bad note.

  • like the vince gill version from 8 seconds the movie as well

  • wow so so cute..

  • Great band. Linda provided the pipes which were heaven sent and Andrew Gold the great musical direction. Totally classic lineup. I never get tires of listening to this particular lineup.

  • No one since.

  • Thank U

  • Bye bye

    VVVVVVVVVVVV

  • There are times in everyone's life they wish they were somewhere else.

I wish I had been THERE this night.

    Damn!

  • She is soooo beautiful. She has the cutest nose and lips. Not a bad voice either...lol

  • Linda Ronstadt was, is and ALWAYS WILL BE one of the GREATEST FEMALE VOCALISTS of ALL TIME!!! : )

    <3 <3 <3

  • Written by Phil Everly I believe. Great song. Love the way Linda sings it ~ Everly Brothers wrote the book on harmony!

  • Here she is! the queen of cover hits!

  • This is so my song. LoL.

    =D

  • like i said before, they should take madonna out of the rock HOF and put linda in her place, linda is the real talen, why the hell isnt she in there, she has damn near the most incredible voice ive ever heard

  • Linda and Jessie Colter look alot alike. they are both Babes.

  • I always kinda thought Linda and Debra Winger looked alike.

  • OMG. Linda is so gorgeous in this video.

  • Check out the video of her singing at some prison (FOLSOM?). She's so young and cute in it......

  • my life fits this song aw so well my husband has done all this to me!!!

  • this is music

  • Dawm!! That voice this woman STILL has!!

  • She's so talented! This is one of my favorite "rockers" from the 70's. One of the most distinctive female voices of the last 30 odd years.

  • This song is the story of my love life!!!

  • mine too

  • Join the freakin' club!

  • ♥ ♥♥ ♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...

  • I resemble this remark.

  • I love this song. It was the song of my soul.Thank you Lord Jesus for being the one who loved me before the foundation of the world. You knew the world needed a Savior. John 3:16 You hear and answer the cry of the humble.

  • Great to see this old performance, but why oh why did they cut out the fabulous steel guitar break and only use it as a stage prop? electric guitar is not even a reasonable likeness!

  • I had dinner with Andrew (Gold) last night and asked him about it....He said "no pedal steel was used on the recorded version of this song...It was just Dan Dugmore and myself on the record playing duel-lead".....He went on to add...."I never could replicate THAT sound (that's on the record) onstage."

    -Stephen J. Arti

    Drums/Perc....Andrew Gold Band.

  • Well shut my mouth. If you didn't tell me so, I never would have believed that two leads could get THAT sound! a real testimony to a peak performance I have to say; thanks for setting the record straight & Happy New Year!

  • thanks for the insight. the sound of that solo always was fascinating to me

  • Zooey Deschanel(sp?)could easily play Linda in a story/Rockudrama of her life !!!

  • You're right! They do kind of have the same "look" don't they? I love Linda Ronstadt's music, brings back alot of good old teenage memories for me!

  • Good concert!!!!!!!!!!! This stuff isn't all that easy to "pull off" all the time on a live gig. I know, I'm a musician, also, and I know how it is, especially when it comes to the good harmony and "twin leads" stuff. You can't just put together some BS band and always expect them to pull that stuff off, so my "hat's" of to Linda for keeping it "professional". Good job, girl, and keep up the good work. Marc Trainor.

  • Taylor Swift, Carrie, eat your heart out.

  • Well said. No offense to either of those two, but it doesn't get any better than this.

  • When will I be loved is the title of this song in case noone posted that yet.

I ask myself almost daily when will I be loved?

  • a say it

  • Classic Karoke song at the bar

  • Superb -

  • Hahaha....oh this song should be my life song. Always seem to come right back to this tune.

  • I was just growing when i heard Linda being repeatedly played by my eldest sisters. She became my idol. I used to sing most of her songs when years ago. Now who can help me download some of her songs because it's quite difficult to get her album with all of her old time bests!
