I'm pretty sure I saw her on a couple of variety shows in the 50s. I checked wikipedia and agree she had a range of 5 octaves, but I question the figure of 2270 cycles. (Why did they change it from cycles to Hertz?) The average man can hear up to 10K CPS, and the average woman up to 12K CPS. The average man SPEAKS under 2K CPS, I believe.

Even though we can't hear much beyond 15Khz the greater range provided by Hi-Fi equipment does allow us to be "aware" of harmonics.

This song was released in 1974 and was on the album "Heart Like a Wheel". It hit the #1 spot on the charts in early 1975. She had the best voice of any female singer I've ever heard to date, Patsy Cline included!
