  • is there anyway of making a cold air intake on this car? Or a Custom named brand intake tubing?

  • @OZ31K what you need is a 1993 Honda Accord Cold air intake kit and a generic 90 degree pipe off of ebay. The S-pipe that comes in the kit will replace the stock one coming from the throttle body, the 45 degree bend one will go from the MAF to the headlight (will be routed to the right of the battery below the fuse box), and the last 90 degree bend will go below the headlight into the fender where you will attach the filter. So really all you need is some extra couplers and an MAF adapter plate

  • please tell me there is a hole somewhere in that area that leads outside.

  • That is *NOT* a FILTER, it is 12 times smaller in surface area than a paper element. So the holes are at least 12times bigger allowing huge bits of dirt in to your engine! This reduces performance and BHP. The paper filter & housing passes more CLEAN & COLD air than the engine uses at full RPM. You are a victim of very clever sales teams as they use key words that you want to hear. They sell to boyracers who can't afford a decent car. Go and learn about filtration and engines. K&N is junk!

    .

  • dude this doesnt even sound the great srry to say this really didnt add th t much HP to your car at all and all those bends in the intake you lose alot of HP

  • @tmakidd0703 All I did to this intake was take off the airbox (and resonator), and replaced the box with an MAF adapter plate and conical style filter. I know the gains aren't great, if any, but it does allow the engine to rev quicker and breathe easier. This was a long time ago though and the car has since been modified by my cousin.

  • THE MORE BENDS YOU HAVE IN YOUR CAI THE LESS HORSE POWER YOU GET...

  • @fucimports agreed

  • ok i did the same thing in my 89 maxima..actually got it from this vid..thanx.its the aem old air intake...i took apart the original intake box and it had a circular metal small tube inside of it..i drilled it out and reonnected it to the sensor and used the 4" adapter to put the intake on

  • i found the red filter part but do i need tubing or piping for it to work properly?

  • ya tornados are stupid, lol. ANy u guys got cardomain page?

  • I have a cardomain page. o_O

  • @tmorales509 ive got a cardomain

  • I have a maxima GXE 93 and this summer I will put too a air intake K&N. So I hope that my car will have same the noise as it your. Nice !

  • i got a 93 nissan maxima its a beast i got a tornado in it i think it gave me alot of power and i have a k&n high flow air filter im only puting out 200 or more horsepower

  • hmm tornado hurts fuel economy and airflow, and you are not putting down 200hp to the wheels...

  • all the tornadoes do is hurt your fuel economy, those things are a rip off to consumers, and like the other guy said. no at the wheels.... you prolly have like 170 something at the wheels.

  • u shouldve gotten a CAI instead of a SRI

  • its not an sri, i did the same thing with an apc cone filter to my friends 94 max. its just a new filter. probably put on with pvc. our pipe was a craftsman leaf blower tip...

also, this guy didnt rev it too much. in addition, cai's are expensive.

but w/e nice max(and everyone should get a cai, lol)

  • Where did you get it? Cattman or K&N? Either way you have a nice sounding maxima. I have a 94 GXE.
