  • What a wunderfull song I like it,thanks.

    Greetins from me Hans

  • Oh What beautiful song Dinah Washington What great Pipes...................

  • What a wonderful singer !! So much feeling !

  • Just awesome!

  • Heard this song on Run Lola Run and decided I love it.

  • @HLYSHFT Same here! I was surprised to not recognise it.

  • Yeah he just did :)

  • This is one of my songs I would love to dance it with you.

  • Why are people comparing Amy to Dinah... they sound nothing alike :|

  • OHHH SO VERY NICE!! THX 4 POSTING.....

  • Amy compared to Dinah is a lot wider than Night and Day. No means of comparison.

Dinah Washington is a confirmed icon.

  • Alexdurrant7..., I'm sorry that you do not feel the genius of this lady, Dinah when she sings...., specially "What a Difference a Day Make", which I consider her version the best. I also think her better than those other singers that you mention, except "perhaps", the grand lady Ella F. The soul and the emotion in her interpretation(s) put Dinah Washington way up there among the singers of all time.

  • thank you scrubs

  • press F13 for better quality =D

    joking

    nice day everyone

  • Cuando vuelva a tu lado

    No me niegues tus besos

  • Nujabes' Flowers song brought me here ^.^

  • So much like Amy Winehouse R.I.P. to them both

  • In the 50s i listened to great artists like Dinah, i,m 65, i miss the great music of the 50s, it was pure and simple,

  • I never saw the fascination with Dinah... , I know that she could definitely sing, butDinah didn't appear to have 'it'... she didn't seem to have 'the voice' in the same way that Billie, Sarah, Nina, Etta and Ella had distinctive voices... could someone explain why people compare her to them? I'm obviously missing something...

  • @Alexdurrant7 Dinah is just about my favorite singer. I wish I could explain it to you but for better or worse music is just one of those things that defies explanation. It was meant to be that way.

  • Run Lola Run, Casino, Chungking Express; that's the order I recognized them in~

I'll never forget them fleeing in slow-motion; terrific shot; and Chungking, the lassitude was wading.

  • I asked my grandmother to name some of the songs she loved in her time, and this is who she came up with. My heart is melting.

  • Scrubs ep 203 brought me here!!

  • It's so nice to see the wonderful Dinah be opened up for a new generation. Amy would smile.

  • ....I liked Amy better...plus she wrote her own songs...and she could swing it vocally better too!!!

  • @Shamagogue That is your opinion. I couldn't stand Amy Winehouse.

  • @MessiIsAChoker -Amy's voice is rough around the edges... Dinah's is very clear and melodic..

  • why apologise for insulting me shucks 555,your entitled to your opinion even though u don't even know, ironically enough i'm entitled 2 my opinion too & i didn't insult u

  • "The Music"

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • My first job in radio was at an oldies station, this was the program director's favorite all-time song. I made sure I played it a couple times a week just to get on his good side, I could play just about anything I wanted as long as I played Diana Washington.

  • Amy & Dinah = <3

  • She and this are both magnificent!!

  • Got a scotch and water and lots of memories.. Mom and Dad sliding across the floor.

  • This is stuck in my head Great song

  • What a difference a day made Twenty-four little hours Brought the sun and the flowers Where there used to be rain My yesterday was blue, dear Today I'm a part of you, dear My lonely nights are through, dear Since you said you were mine Lord, what a difference a day makes There's a rainbow before me Skies above can't be stormy Since that moment of bliss, that thrilling kiss It's heaven when you find romance on your menu Oh, what a difference a day made And the difference is you

  • Rest Peacefully

    DINAH WASHINGTON (1924-1963)

  • I can find the song Dana Washington sings titled Aint Misbehaven. Has anyone heard it?

  • A great song performed by a great lady !

  • A smooth and graceful voice which can't be mached by any other.

  • My favorite Dinah Washington song and one of my all-time favorites.

  • That VOICE! They don't make em like that anymore.

  • con't Personality & I'm Gonna Get Married by Lloyd Price, Young Love by Sonny James, Oh What a Night by Dells, Gone by Ferlin Husky (super version by Joey Heatherton), It's All In the Game by Tommy Edwards. I could go on & on. All of these can be found on YouTube.

  • NaniBleu One that comes immediately to mind & for same reason above is Love Letters Straight From Your Heart by Ketty Lester. Let It Be Me by Jerry Butler & Betty Everett, For Your Precious Love by Jerry Butler, You Send Me - Cupid - Only 16 - Bring It On Home To Me by Sam Cooke, I Only Have Eyes For You by Flamingos, Endlessly & It's Just A Mattter of Time by Brook Benton, Dream Lover & Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darrin, Only You bu Platters (to be con't)

  • @Deshard62 Never had that pleasure, just listened on my record player to those good old 78's. Actually still have a box of old 78's somewhere! No player, though.

  • I can't believe this masterpiece leads you to a trashy song: Ketty Perry - fireworks.

  • how peacefull this makes me feel xx

  • She died at 39...while in her 8th marriage!! Guess a lot of guys fell for her voice...for awhile anyway.

  • I have around the every where with this song !!!

  • What a superb rendition!

  • Casino

  • I lived in Chicago for a short while, I lived on the north side the 4600 Block of Wilson Avenue. There were two ballrooms at that time, The Aragon on the north side and the Trianon at 63rd and Cottage Grove. There were other dance venues but they were not catering to white folks, there was Lincoln Gardens and Club De Lisa. Meade Lux Lewis was driving a cab for living expenses we were terribly unkind to black people in those days. I thought Joe Williams had a super voice

  • They don`t make songs like this anymore. Where did all the great music go....?

  • @Machomannorway If you are into Jazz you should check out Buck Clayton Jam Sessions, these date back to the 50s and I think they are the greatest redition of the numbers in existance.

  • @2grouchy1 BIRD'S NEST?

  • Foe anyone who finds Dinah's music inspirational look up a song titlds "Dream" she does a chord change in that on the will knock your socks off.

  • Wonderful song!

  • Actually, I did check with Google and found out that Dinah Washington died of an accidental overdose of prescripton drugs. Obviously that rules out suicide! I didn't think Dinah Washington was the type of woman to commit suicide anyway. She sounded way too strong for that!!

  • 13 green coconuts...

  • Best song in the Movie Goodfellas who see this movie Thumb UP<3

  • Her signature song will last for ever. Just great music.

  • I hear Dinah Washington in Nancy Wilson too. That's why I love them both!!

  • @Angel19403 I have always wondered if eerie similarity between Dinah and Nancy singing voices could have contributed to Dinah's suicide. I have trouble telling them apart.

  • @2grouchy1 I had no idea Dinah Washington committed suicide. I'll check Google for the details.

  • @2grouchy1 Nancy Wilson's style was some combination of Dinah and Little Jimmy Scott filtered through her own sensibility. I grew up hearing them them all and never confuse them.

  • @Alemayehu45 You are obviously much younger than I, I first heard Nancy while living in Dallas about 1964, and I first thought it was Dinah, the DJ identified her and in subsequent offering by her I found her voice and that of Dinah to almost indistinguishable. I'm not sure that I have ever heard Little Jimmy, I doubt that I have. I saw Nancy on some television show and she gave me that "smell of me" impression and I have nothing in my record library by Nancy.

  • @2grouchy1 No prpblem... people hear whatever they here... I am on the early swell of the War Babies, 12.31.1945. I feel very lucky to have been exposed to the music by community that LOVED the music: blues, jazz, r&b, folk, and new thing. My heart and ears were well fed! LOL

  • Chungking Express! Wong Kar Wai used this song like no one.

  • where nujabes got the flowers sample from

  • "What a move. I fell in love right there. But in Vegas, for a girl like Ginger, love costs money."
