I,ve seen way to many close calls because of overeager marshalls

The corner workers are trying to get the bike OFF the track which cause MORE problems and is more of a danger than the injured rider who is crawling OFF the track... Corner workers can't do anything to the rider if he is injured that is why there is medical help there... They are trying to get the biggest threat on the track off the track so that others don't hit it.
Like I said above they should have fucking Red Flagged the race as soon as the dude was crawling off the track.

Those were peices of the bike. There are stories elsewhere that show everyone lived. The corner worker who you think is chopped up, has a blog somewhere and reports on his lengthy recovery.

Holy crap, talk about a DANGEROUS fucking way to run your track. As SOON as that first rider stopped in the track, the red flags should have been used and corner workers SHOULD have been pushing riders right to either corner immediately. There is no reason why they continued the race like this, complete hazard to the workers and the riders.
there needs to be three or four track workers attending a wreck. two or three attending to the one or two directing the rest of the bikes away. there also should have been a flagger on the corners entrance so the racers no to watch out in advance. i have volunteered at mx tracks and safety is way too important and this is the worst thing that could happen because now instead of having to care for one rider and pull off one bike, they have bigger mess to deal with and nobody around to help
REGARDLESS of caution flags it dosn't matter, theres fucking equipment in the middle of the track and works out there trying to stand it up. If they felt absolutely compelled to keep the race going, the entrance to that corner should have a red flag with works on the track directing people out of the way and then a green flag after. That second accident was completely unnecisary and it pisses me off that the tower allowed that to happen.
this happened in Loudon, NH. Everyone lived but at least then, shortly after the accident, Rob Dages, the cornerworker that was hit the hardest was in a wheelchair.

Yeah.. this video just boosted my respect for them.. Come on races don't have to be deadly.. If the rider has to crawl off the track while nobody is stopping the racers it is already dead wrong.. and no offense but the marshals looked like amateurs, dressed like amateurs and acted like amateurs..
Those pieces all over the track are bodywork from the bikes.
The incident was being flagged properly up-track, the flagger isn't visible in the video.
Motorcycle races aren't stopped every time someone crashes, the races would never be finished. Marshals often work a hot track, especially at tracks like Loudon, where this was videoed. What you're watching has been done many hundreds of times without incident.

Terrible marshalling, you would never ever run out to the track like that with no protective clothing on, what if the bike they were picking up caught fire. What the hell is a cowboy hat gonna do.

Rob Dage was the cornerworker, and his website lists his injuries as 'fractured pelvis and tailbone, bruised ribs (one broken), an impressively ugly gash in the left forearm, an equally scary gash in the head, and lots of bumps and bruises.' In short, he was pretty well fucked up and his recovery was long term. But he did recover.

What looks like body parts on the track is bike parts. Google Rob Dages, he was the marshal who took the biggest hit.
Maybe walking out into the track while guys are still racing isn't such a great idea though?

It's easy to second-guess the process after an accident occurs, but racing is dangerous and sometimes things go wrong. A number of factors contributed to this incident When things start to go wrong there isn't time to throw a red flag, which can take several seconds since it must be communicated from Control to the flagger. Far from being badly-run or amatuerish, Loudon marshals are highly respected in the business, but it is a dangerous job.

Yeah.. this video just boosted my respect for them.. Come on races don't have to be deadly.. If the rider has to crawl off the track while nobody is stopping the racers it is already dead wrong.. and no offense but the marshals looked like amateurs, dressed like amateurs and acted like amateurs..

Okay, no one was killed during this incident.
Those pieces all over the track are bodywork from the bikes.
The incident was being flagged properly up-track, the flagger isn't visible in the video.
Motorcycle races aren't stopped every time someone crashes, the races would never be finished. Marshals often work a hot track, especially at tracks like Loudon, where this was videoed. What you're watching has been done many hundreds of times without incident.

if u look at the footage closely you will see that he had a bike directly in front of him blocking his line of vision of the accident. by the time he saw what was ahead he didnt have time to adjust.

Terrible marshalling, you would never ever run out to the track like that with no protective clothing on, what if the bike they were picking up caught fire. What the hell is a cowboy hat gonna do.

The clip shows an accident that happened on July 7, 2001 at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon. Rob Dage was the cornerworker, and his website lists his injuries as 'fractured pelvis and tailbone, bruised ribs (one broken), an impressively ugly gash in the left forearm, an equally scary gash in the head, and lots of bumps and bruises.' In short, he was pretty well fucked up and his recovery was long term. But he did recover.
