@lucinit1985 they sure do,i miss working there.gm deff had to ruin a good thing.they had the s series and the L series and as soon as they worked all the bugs out they stop making them what a joke.they should have got rid of olds, pontiac, gmc along time ago there all the same just a chevey with diff head lights.but they destroy a good brand that was very different then nething that they had that many people like what a shame.
95 Saturn SC1 Engine blocks were found later to have very small cracks in them from when they were manufactured. Thankfully im getting a 97 engine with 59k miles put into my 95 sc1 body
I was never a big fan of Saturn but it did start out as a great car brand it wasnt until GM started merging it with the rest of the GM brands did it start to crash...
i guess in the long run it did follow Geo to the grave
I bought my '94 Saturn off the showroom floor in '93. In '02, with 114k on it, I sold it to a friend who drove it for 4 more years. I still miss that car.
I have a 98 station wagon and it only has 55,000 miles on it, runs like a charm! If Saturn ever comes back, they still won't ever have that same hospitality that they used to.
My 2000 SC2 was built in 1999. bought it used last year with 100,296 miles on it. The only problem I had since then, and 10,000 miles later, was the EGR valve got stuck. I was told it should be replaced fairly quickly but i drove a few more weeks after it was unstuck and it worked just fine. I love my car. runs clean and looks great. Maybe one day they might resurrect Saturn. If i had the money, I'd by them up and bring the return of the orginal Saturn engineering!
@DrSurprise Actually its neither. According to MSNBC the plant that first made Saturns is still running only its making other GM models. This happened in 2007, so Saturn has been in a downward spiral for a few years now...
My dad inherited a 1994 Saturn SL1 from his uncle that passed away. He has 180,000 miles on it now and never had any problems with it. None! I do the maintenance for him. The first time I serviced his auto tranny I was shocked and happy. It has a drain plug and a spin on filter. Genius! I am looking to buy myself a saturn now as I am sold on their reliability and amazing mpg's. Very sad to hear Saturn will be no longer. Times are changing folks.
I remember those days! When i was little and my mom worked for Saturn, we used to build playgrounds for youths and all the owners would show up with their Saturns =(* Sad times now.

Lemme just say that Saturn was never a good company, it always built half-assed cars with half-assed parts that consistently got poor reviews from Consumer Reports and respected auto trade magazines alike. May they burn in hell.
@oktoberfeeeeest Have you ever owned a saturn? let alone driven one??? christ i hated saturns until i owned one and now I cant believe saturn motor company is gone!!! NOOO!!!
I owned a 94 SL1, logged in over 280,000 kms on it before the transmission failed on me. I loved that car, it drove really well for it's age, and great fuel consumption!
The good old days! My '97 SL2 is still on the road. Saturn used to send me Mets game tickets every year back then. I think they even sent my car a Birthday card!
Saturn S series are very good cars. One of the few reasons Saturn was brought in as a GM division was to attract young car buyers as a competitor to Japanese cars. Yes, the Vue used a Honda engine in the past, but other manufacturers have used different engines in vehicles, such as my 1986 Dodge Caravan SE has a 2.6L Mitsubishi engine in it. Alot of car companies do that, like a joint venture kind of think, like Chrysler had with Mitsubishi and the AutoAlliance between Ford and Mazda.
I had the 04 Ion Sedan. The Air Conditioner didn't work, the turn signal blew out 4 times and the car was stalling out. One day in the middle of a NYC highway. I no longer have the car and will not buy another.
Saturn is what woke up GM! THIS DIVISION WOKE UP STRAGGLING DIVISIONS LIKE CHEVROLET AND CADILLAC, TELLING THEM THAT IF THEY WANT TO SELL CARS, THEY NEED TO CLEAN UP THEIR ACT! I AM A FORD OWNER, BUT IF I WERE TO BUY A GM CAR, THIS IS THE FIRST DIVISION I WOULD LOOK AT. SATURN'S QUALITY IS TOP NOTCH, AND THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST OVERALL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION OF ANY GM DIVISION. THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING. CHEVROLET AND CADILLAC SHOULD TAKE SOME LESSONS FROM SATURN!
Mine is the first year they made a Saturn and its still going today I dont know why so many hate saturn.Mine was gave to me and its only gave me a few problems since 2003.
I love Saturn's,mine has 354000 miles on it,still goes strong, and its very dependable, and Saturn is a division of GM , I steer clear of the asian cars,I rather have a dependable, cheap on replacement parts, reliable domestic vehicle.
Too bad they shut down the Spring Hill plant. I don't care what anybody says though, I like my 2004 Saturn Ion much more than my girlfriend's 2002 SL2.
i have worked at a saturn dealer since day 1. the true saturn died in 2000!!! boy it was great. we set out to change the world, we did, than it was back to old school gm and saturn parished!!!!
saturn is nothing but a imitator it stands on the shoulders of really great gm cars. never offering nothing more than clever ad. trying to be a oldsmobile a falling short. sad thing is that it is now where oldsmobile was in the gm line up. saturn at best could never make a spot on oldsmobile. but one thing is certain and gm stated this in its last quarter review that the only two companys are safe and that being chevy and cadillac. so hopefully saturn will be the first to go since buick is back
With all respect man, i think oldsmobile is cool, and i hate honda, but just make a little research on Saturn and u ll see what I mean, just go to wikipedia and search for it, it will amaze u. So that means the Chevy Equinox Sport Pontiac Torrent GXP and the VUE RL use Honda's engine? No. Honda's engine was only used is Last Gen's VUE RL. Now it uses GM's sophisticated, high-feature 60-degree dual overhead cam 3.6L V-6 VVT that delivers 257 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 243 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm. To anybody that says saturns are crappy cars i have a vue with 100k. Never had a problem or had anything break even after spinning it into a ditch (consiquence of reckless driving). Plus, vues can smoke ricers.
The new 08' Saturn's are very nice but there just too much money, I bought my 1999 SL1 with 26 miles on it and after 81,056 miles i had no problems AT ALL everything worked perfect, thick and thin and I also hit a 18 wheeler and drove home at 60 m.p.h even the air bags went off but no problems. the best 12,000 dollars i ever spent!
Agreed. I plan on keeping my ION until it runs into the ground, but I still figure on getting my next new car from Saturn. Even if they are just another GM branch now, they at least are different when it comes to styling and pricing, and theres a nostolgia factor.
Yeah so what? They don't look like chevys. They look like Opel's in Europe (Saturn Aura = Opel Vectra, Saturn Vue = Opel Antara and Saturn Astra = Opel Astra) They now look very hot! The Old one looked like cheap Asian Cars, now they look very stylisch!
I love my Saturn ION. and I had a 97 SL2(Sedan) amazing lil cars we have. The ION may not have been an S car but they were at least built by Saturn people in Spring hill with polymer bodys. Dont know what to think of new Saturn :(
