Why do all modern 'horror' films rely on brutality? I think the film should be under the genre of gore film, not horror.

I'm a huge horror fan but not of the gore variety.

Atmosphere and imagery are everything, and this film seems to have this, A dude shoving an implement up a womans nether regions is indeed horrorful, but is just gratuatous.

@RockinAnimz I don't think that there is any evidence that it's an abortion and the fact that it's a holy place (according to you) makes that even more unlikely. Nuns are catholic, and abortion isn't allowed in that (or any) branch of Christianity. Not to mention that the title is "Death of the Virgin", virgins don't usually require abortions.
