full body fatness and punch even when cranked...i'm in loooove! i favor the higher tunings in general, but it's hard to find a drum that doesn't sacrifice tone and body when you dial in that splitting CRACK!!! amazing drum
Hello there. I am in a garage/noise punk band. basically i'm trying to find the fucking loudest snare drum there is. I recently used a ludwig 14x6.5 all maple classic that seemed to do the trick perfectly, are there any other snare drums that you could suggest to me? anyone.
@reykjavikband well if you're rich there's always a dunnett 8x14 steel snare, for a couple hundred less you could probably find a tama spartan warlord steel snare which i believe is 6.5x14 and is just amazing, versatile and loud and depending on the tuning it can sound like a gunshot
@reykjavikband Go for a thick shelled Birch , Maple or Oak drum. A wood shell thats thicker will vibrate less projecting more sound out.....which gives volume. I would go for a thick shelled Birch/Oak drum with Die Cast hoops. Or just build your own from a 15 ply Keller Maple shell with Die Cast hoops. Thats killer combo.

@vivaladusst No, this shell is blocks of Wandoo wood from Australia, that are stuck together, rather than plies.

@reykjavikband but if you want loud look for almost any large quality steel snare, or maybe aluminum depending on the tone you want

Sounds amazing!
But hearing the words 'Brady' and 'Drum' together makes me think of the loan I'd have to take out to purchase one of their beauties!
