I was in my favorite Record Store today, I was originally there to pick up my reserved order of the soundtrack to the film One From The Heart by Tom Waits & Crystal Gale. And the film Down By Law, it was expected to be there in two weeks, I got there in four weeks. I thought I was leaving empty-handed, but I spotted this album, on vinyl. I listened to it in the store for a few tries, I didn't like it, sounded like a nightmare. But it grew on me, and it came with the Compact Disc inside, awesome.
I like amanda palmer but I started reading about this on a website that discusses disabled feminists perspectives and learned that this is pretty much ableist appropriation and exploitation of disabled culture based on stereotypes.
This video brings back so many great memories from that week ~ Michael Pope did an amazing job pulling it all together! And Sxip... I still crack up laughing at the simple amazement that is you.

Look, I love love love the music and the concept (kind of like musical theatre, yes?), I'd even love to see the live show. But - and there is a but - when I sit there seeing Amanda and Jason fake interviewing about them it leaves a funny taste in my mouth. I'd just really like to leave the fiction on stage.
And fans don't crucify me, I still think Palmer and Webley are the most awesome artists out.

I was in my favorite Record Store today, I was originally there to pick up my reserved order of the soundtrack to the film One From The Heart by Tom Waits & Crystal Gale. And the film Down By Law, it was expected to be there in two weeks, I got there in four weeks. I thought I was leaving empty-handed, but I spotted this album, on vinyl. I listened to it in the store for a few tries, I didn't like it, sounded like a nightmare. But it grew on me, and it came with the Compact Disc inside, awesome.

Look, I love love love the music and the concept (kind of like musical theatre, yes?), I'd even love to see the live show. But - and there is a but - when I sit there seeing Amanda and Jason fake interviewing about them it leaves a funny taste in my mouth. I'd just really like to leave the fiction on stage.
And fans don't crucify me, I still think Palmer and Webley are the most awesome artists out.
