  • any difference between this and the .40 cal?

  • I like my glock 23 loaded with federal 180. hst jhp I like the xdm but If I wanted another polymer. I would go with Glock.

  • It's just a shitty copy of the glock

  • @crashtest2302 um no...

  • What is the opening song plz?

  • @dadiddlydooda Its a track from my imac video editing program

    :)

  • I bought the 9mm XD-M a week ago and all I can say is, it is AWESOME!! This 4.5" barrel, 9mm is nothing short of amazing. A TRUE tack driver. I shoot about once a month, so I'm not a pro but I was shooting 2.5" clusters at 30 feet. Out of all my guns, this is my favorite. Solid, non-jamming, easy to field strip and clean and above all, EXTREMELY accurate and priced right too. GET ONE!!

  • I got a xdm 40 and i wish I should have bought a 9. :( If anybody wants to buy it I got a 40 s&w xdm in od green.

  • I bought a 40 s&w I went to the range and I think I should have got a 9mm. :(

  • @losunimo88. The xd and xdm are very similair in demensions. If you want a smaller version go with the xd subcompact. Or the xdm 3.8. I perfer the xdm 3.8

  • Sweet vid. Bro. I just purchased a XDM 40. Looking forward to seeing part number 2. Great job!

  • hi! which have the slimmer or shorter grip, reach to the trigger? xd or xdm? ><

  • just ordered one in bi-tone!

  • This review is 100x better than a nutnfancy review because it is short, direct, and to the point. It doesnt involve an extra 15-30 minutes of nutnfancy giving opinion after opinion just to hear himself talk. I also like how you named the channel Safe Arms Review, instead of doing something arrogant and prideful like name the channel/project after yourself... *cough nutnfancy project cough*

  • Nice review so far man. What's your hat say? I turned annotations off and I still can't see it.

    Mike

  • yeah man, sweet gun, ive put about 20k rounds through mine so far and its an excellent range gun

  • Wow nice job you put a lot of effort in mixing this. well done

  • 19 round magazine? Wow. Talk about firepower.

  • Although I like this gun more than the Glock, I just haven't gotten to the point where I can like a striker-fired pistol. Something keeps screaming at me that I need a hammer! The striker is simply the firing pin held under spring pressure. When released, it "strikes" the primer and is returned to its rest position. It's inexpensive to build, but I prefer a hammer. Ever since I owned cheap Ravens and Jennings, I just never liked striker fired concepts.

  • LOL XD xD

  • looking to get one of these pistols. and looking at the 3.8" model. any ideas on the quality for a conceal carry pistol

  • @bmstylee If your firearm is for CCW and the lives of you and your family are at stake, I would NOT go with a cheap one. I suggest XD or XDM or similar model.

    :)

  • @SafeArmsReview well that is what i think. however the staff at the range i shoot at are not in favor of spending a lot on a cc gun. reason being is that if you have to use it in a justified shoot it may be beat up by the law enforcement jurisdiction you are in. so they do not recommend carrying something like a sig or a kimber. they say get something that if you get it taken and they beat the hell out of it you are not losing to much money on it.

  • @bmstylee wow, I have never heard of anyone, LE, military or CCW instructor suggest such a thing. I can get a XD or XDM, or Glock for about $550 and thats not much to ask. I look at the torture tests of both and they both pass the test. I cannot say the same of lower cost brands.

However it is a personal decision, so whatever floats your boat, I guess.

    :)

  • @SafeArmsReview

yea was a bit strange but i understand it to a certain point. i want something that will not fail when needed. and the xdm is a great shooting pistol. there is a reason it is getting such high marks.

  • If the trigger safety or the grip safety fail or if both fail will the gun still be operable? Thats my only question at the moment.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 I have never heard of the safeties failing - contact springfield & ask them. I have put over 5,000+ rounds thru mine & never had a problem.

  • @SafeArmsReview Ok, thank you. I have just recently purchased an FNP-9 so this really isn't much of an issue. Again, thank you.

  • Great review (Part 1). I will watch part 2 & 3. Reviews like this will be helpful in determining my next purchase. Thank you.

  • Do you have any reviews on a regular tactical xd model?

  • the music is annoying as hell

  • Could someone do me a big favor and help tell me the difference between xd and xdm. I hope i didnt say the names wrong I'm new to Sf pistols minus 1911's

  • How much does this weapon cost?

  • SafeArmsReview the facts you give are wrong the Glock kicks less than the XD.Learn the facts the grip is 1911 on the XD so it kicks harder muzzle flip relates to slower follow up shots. You got dnkeypunched!!!

  • @boostimalaka1, that's not a fact, that doesn't even make sense, the grip has nothing to do with recoil, go troll somewhere else

  • @UrbanKnight12 you're a cockball

  • @UrbanKnight12 Yes the grip has something to do with recoil....

  • Overall, awesome vids. Keep them coming.

  • Why do you have music in the review?

  • Because I like it

    :)

  • do you have any info on the M&P's? Im thinking about getting one cause they feel so good in hand! Shoot well too!!

  • Nope but if your comfortable with it, you can put rounds on target and its a proven performer, then it sounds good, but only you can make that determination.

    :)

  • XDM or Glock ? I dunno...

  • XD is a beatuiful gun and my wife put me 1 in layaway last week

  • dat gun is uuuuugly!

  • and yet it performs flawlessly

    ;)

I will take function over form any day

  • nah change my mind man, how much did u pay 4 it?

  • @SafeArmsReview I just got a XD-M 9 less than a week ago. I have had 10 james in less than 200 rounds. I thought it was the ammo then tried different ammo... I am very upset do you know what is wrong with my gun?

  • Take it back & exchange it &/or get in touch with customer service. I have never heard of that happening with any XD or XDM.

    :)

  • I've put over 5,000 rounds thru my XD-M 9mm - different companies and types of ammo to include reloads. Never had a problem.

With that said, take it back and exchange &/or contact customer service (be sure to include serial number & receipt). BTW you did send in the registration yes?

  • @SafeArmsReview Yea i know i've never heard of it either... I went with the XD-M because I knew it would be an amazing gun... I'm going to call customer service in the morning thanks for the reply.

  • No way, that thing looks evil !!!

  • very profesional review. I like it by far one of the best ones out there.

  • I wish everyone who posts reviews of weapons, or anything else for that matter, would do so with as much forethought and knowledge as you showed on this review.

  • You did a great review. I new to guns and I really appreciate how you break down technicall terms. This is a great review.

  • Nice review. I have held one and it feels

    great.

  • first of all guys follow all the safety rules especially the ear and eye protection. As for the gun I have the 9mm XD 4inch barrel and it's awesome. I love the weapon i carry it on duty with two 15 round mags and a 18 round mag. The 18 round mag is a tight fit when inserting the mag but good practice on that is to slam the mag in as if your were in a gun fight. Now i say slam i dont mean break. I love the grips on the gun, i tried the glock and sig and grips are to big didnt like them.

  • never use hearing protection and your just fine...

yea right and I have a bridge to sell ya

    ;)

  • Every time you fire a round, you're doing irreparable damage to your hearing. Yeah, you might not notice it over the short term. But your hearing WILL be worse than those who do use hearing protection. You might also end up with a constant ringing or tone in your ears as well. Assuming you're the same species as the rest of us, at least.

  • @amazingaustin13 if you do not wear hearing protection you are going to deaf or get tinnitus be safe hearing pro and eye pro dude!

  • if i would work as a policeman, i would work best with this wpn, 5 satrz mah friend

  • 20 rounds...you almost dont even need an extra mag! Alomost.

  • This gun is awesome with a viridian green laser. No question the accuracy tops an out of box Glock, reliability should rival Glock. Even though this is a new model, the HS 2000 has been with us for a long time and it has a terrif track record.

  • You do know we can turn off annotations right?

  • ha i was thinking the same thing

  • hey man great review, I love my xdm but one complaint I have is with the mag release. When loading a full mag it is impossible for me to use the mag release without pushing up on the mag its self and then pushing the button. Its def not a deal breaker and i kinda look at it that in the case of having to use it in defense, i wont ever accidentally drop a full mag hah. Also one thing I thought id point out is with the butt safety, in that is that without depressing it the slide will not rack.

  • Illegal in New Jersey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Then I'm glad I live in Colorado

    ;)

  • sucks to be you. move to a state that is not run by fascists.

  • XD9 is awesome. Just bought one myself. It's more ergonomic than the GLOCK. Doesn't matter how well made your glock is, if you aren't comfortable shooting it your shots will be crap. Also, one thing I didn't know, the XD was designed around the American shooting style.

  • I agree, for me it more comfortable from me, my wife & daughter. Glock, tho it is a very nice firearm & a proven performer just didnt feel right for any of us.

    :)

  • GLOCK "Perfection" is 3 ounces lighter, used by law enforcement "that should tell you something" and also is more reliable. I hate the trigger on the xdm and i hate the palm safety. I own both 9X9 pistols and glock blows this gun away. XDM is a great gun though!

  • Glocks are nice (planning on getting g22 soon) but being lighter does not mean better.

Its been proven lighter means the shooter often experiences more recoil which affects sight pic & follow up shots. Heavier firearms often take up a bit of recoil which allows shooter to stay on target longer. There are full metal guide rods dat add 3 ounces or so & reduce recoil by up to 37%. Every little bit counts IMHO.

    BTW I am looking at getting a trigger jobs done on my XD-M 9 & XD 9 & 45.

    :)

  • SafeArmsReview apparently you're wrong the Glock kicks less because of the lower bore axis and grip angle.Dumb white trailer trash hick has an XD and thinks his guns better than a Glock.WTF the Glock is proven the trigger sucks on the XD BTW.You got donkeypunched!!!

  • i own a xdm 9mm and gotta say i really like it,,,,have a viridian green laser ordered and cant wait to take it out and site it for some fun target practice....next upgrade will be the tung. guide rode 4 oz and tung. mag, release button around 1 oz.....good job on the vidz bro from a xdm koolaid drinker :)

  • Sounds like your gonna have some fun too - nice upgrades.

I too am hoping to get a new guide rod and a trigger job. Thanks for watching and compliments.

    :)

  • Can you actually put 19 rounds in yours? If I fill the magazine I can not get it fully into the pistol, with 18 I can but it is very difficult, 17 is the max for me but it is still difficult to insert and the mag release is very hard to release.

I really don't like the trigger at all. The normal XD has a much better trigger and I hope to replace mine as soon as possible.

  • Yea its hard to get that last round.

Now after having this for a while and shooting other pistols, I think the trigger could be better. I would like to see springfield make a pistols with 3.5 lb trigger already installed - I think that would be a big seller.

    :)

  • what is the MSRP on the XD-M 9 MM ?

  • Last time I checked they were around $550 to $650 - so it pays to shop around for the best deal.

    :)

  • Is it just me, or do i find those tiny white dots in the rear sight annoying. I went and bought paint thinner to remove those white dots. Also i chose the 40 over the 9 because i reload and pay about 13 cents per round, and packs more of a punch.

  • depends - at times they bother me, but in low light they help a bit. btw I like the 9mm but I also have an XD 45 subcompact which is nice too.

I am hoping to get a glock 22 by spring and get the 9mm and 357 conversion barrel for it too = sweet.

    :)

  • Why did you choose the 9mm over the .40?

  • 9mm is more available than .40 where I am

    ;)

  • had one of these i traded it off wish i hadnt i will buy another someday.....

  • I love this weapon! A lot. Kimber, Glock, S&W, Ruger all have nothing on this. Only thing in the box I didn't care for was the holster.. but at least they give you one with the purchase.

  • yea I didnt care for the holster either, but I guess shipping these things out with Serpa Level II holsters would cost too much; but as you say, its better than nothing.

Thanks for watching & the comment.

    :)

  • There is one aspect of your safety steps I take issue with. You keep your finger parallel to the trigger and resting on the trigger guard, but if the user has shorter fingers it's possible that their finger could accidentally actuate the trigger.

I learned that the trigger finger should rest straight along the slide ABOVE the trigger until such time as the gun is "pointed in" and on target. The result is a safer grip with much less chance of accidentally firing.

    Regards,

    Steve

  • ...Ran out of room to respond, but wanted to say I really enjoyed your review otherwise!

    Regards,

    Steve

  • That is possible but with proper training this can be avoided. Both my wife & daughter use the XDM 9mm & the XD 45 and neither have problems with negligent discharges (but then again they dont have really short fingers).

However if this is the case, then your right in having such a person place their finger higher up.

Thanks for the compliment & the safety tip too.

    :)

  • This is a great weapon. After testing a S&W MP I went with that instead in 9mm. The .40 was great too. My next gun is a 45. I didn't like the grip safety. Just my feelings, but nonetheless a great sidearm.

  • I like it, but I also like the XD 45 too - it makes a great self defense/CCW.

    ;)

  • you forgot the most important rule of safety, #1 don't go hunting with Cheney!!

  • LOL

    your right about that

    ;)

  • Great video Steve...

  • thanks for the compliments

    :)

  • Ez tök szar.......

  • Yeah... it allows you to have 19-rounds in the mag - IF you can find 19-rnds of 9mm!

Man...I love this pistol. Great review, man. I subbed you...

  • thanks for the kudos

I hope to do more reviews soon.

    :)

  • SSG

  • There are really only 2 other pistols I'd like to have...the XD and a Glock.

  • Only 2? If I hit the lotto, I would like to get a glock and about 20 other different weapons.

    :D

At any rate I hope to find a range close by and do some shooting vids.

  • Yes 2...of course if I won the lotto I'd have a complete arsenal of my own! Aren't you out in CA?

  • I'm in Colorado - love the rocky mountains.

    :)

  • Glad I found your channel. Good review, I dug it. I gotta say that aggressive grip is a double edged sword. In a neutral grip how are you going to double tap that bad boy?

  • well there are pros & cons to everything - there is no perfect 'silver bullet' grip or stance imo.

BTW I dont have a problem with two quick shots, but I also know I can improve more. The goal is to shoot smooth with steel on target quicly.

    ;)

I hope to do some shooting vids in the near future with the XD 9mm, the .45 and other stuff.

    :D

  • Do you carry this concealed or use it only for home defense?

  • Both

At first I thot this would be kinda of big to CC but there are ppl who have M1911s as their CCW. I guess it comes down to what your comfortable with.

    :)

  • Some of the best training anyone can receive is join IDPA. You will learn the basics, have fun, and get that much needed practice that most people lack. I'm not talking about shooting at paper targets at a table; it's walking, running, kneeling, using cover, reloading and shooting. You'll have the time of your life out their. I just picked up this gun a few days ago to shoot ESP. I can't wait to see how she handles.

  • that does sound like fun - when I finish moving I hope to find this or some similar group to shoot with.

    :)

  • Its one of the easiest things to do. Go to IDPA(dot)com fill out the info, its $40.00 for a membership a year, and the matches usually cost less then a standard range fee. Our matches are about 150-200 rounds and ton fun

  • wow now that sounds cool - I hope they have matches in my area. thanks for posting cause I will definetly look into that.

    :D

  • I have a Intratech 9 as my side arm

but its to bulky to be holstered/ or concealed, I want to stay with a 9mm cause i have lots of ammo for it

seems most hand guns cost around 400

while a shotgun is around 250, I don't get it? anyway is the XD-M your fav or do you recomend something else like a glock or

    Barretta,.

Great Safety tips! amazing how many ppl don't follow them and screw up bad

  • I like XD-M but glock is a very solid weapon which has proven itself over time again & again. Same goes with other autos, so it just comes down to personal pref.

The biggest reason we like the XD-M is that the wife & kid like the grip & trigger safety. It doesnt bother me cause the best safety is your finger; pull trigger gun goes bang, no finger on trigger = no bang. Again wife & kid like the 'safety' of the xd & also the smaller grip assortments.

So it works well for all of us.

    :)

  • btw I taught my wife & kid never point a gun at nothing your willing to shoot, how to clear & strip down/reassemble the XD-M.

    Safety First

    ;)

  • very cool, yea the saftey features of that gun make it a great choice for families

    Thank you

  • audio blows dead monkey dicks

  • lol

well u work w/ what u got but if ur really concerned, then send me about 150K so I can build & equip a studio w/ the proper equipment. Mixing board, digital recording, heck w/ that money I could even get a sweet green screen w/ pro lighting, teleprompter, a green room & maybe even my own assistant who brings me a double latte w/ a spritz of hazelnut on top as I go over the script.

    That would be really nice.

Anyway when ur ready to send the money shoot me a pm so we can get this fixed.

    :D

  • Nice. You guys seem to know alot about guns. Im getting a hand gun soon and I need some advice. Im useing it for home protection. Im 24 years old. I dont want a compact like what a women would carry in her purse, but I dont want a desert eagle neither. What should I look at?

  • If just home protection I would get a 12 gauge shotgun but thats just my opinion. Shotguns are easy to use, just rack it (a VERY intimidating sound) then point & shoot.

Now if you want to skip the SG & decide on a pistol consider a .40 cal. They dont have a large capacity as the 9mms but their knockdown their power is impressive.

Whatever u do, get some quality training that focuses on safety & proper handling = good stuff. Shop around, research & make an informed decision.

    I hope this helps.
