  • so slow and relaxing

  • Left bank 2

  • I'm sorry... we can't return any of your pictures, but we give a small prize for those that we do show.

  • @effyleven lol

  • I like to pause it at 0:30 and imagine he is stroking two American Water Spaniels - one slightly shorter than the other.

The shorter one has a daffodil sticking out of it's anus.

  • My wife met Tony Hart many times as his life drew to its end. Tony suffered from diabetes, and, as a dietitian, she tried to to control his condition and keep him around that bit longer. She said he was a lovely man, but he didn't take kindly to being old, or being ill....

  • sounds Great . Thankyou :)

  • HIya all. Here is the chord structure for Vision On.

Remember this is my interpretation of the piece. I do not have the sheet music for this.Watch the bar lines.

    D |B7-9 |Em7(4), Em7-5|Em7-5, A7|D MAJ7|

    Bm7(4)|Em7 | Em7 | Em7 | C#m7-5 | F#7 |

    Bm | Bm | C#7, F#7 | B7 , E7 | A7 |...........repeat

the first 10 bars and then jump to .....| D |

    Bm , F dim | D , B7-9 | Em7(4), A7 | D , A7| D ||

    Good Luck ...Gammaseven.

  • @gammaseven

These chords look spot on - many thanks. Saved me a lot of time. I think the original was in G.

  • @gammaseven

thanks for the chords- I have been after this for years and my ear is not good enough to work them out!

    cheers

  • Hi 1969knulp. I would love to know what follows your colon in your message! Thanks in anticipation.

  • Excellent playing. I am desperate to know the chord sequence behind the tune. Any chance you can post it. You have changed the key to D - I think the first 2 chards are D then B7 after that I struggle.

  • Hi my friend, some years ago in a guitar magazine they transcribed the song, and this is the chord sequence:

  • Hi 1969knulp. I would love to know what follows that colon in your messsage! Thanks in anticipation.

  • this theme was on CBBCs SMart with Mark Speight and Kirstin O'Brien when Speight and O'Brien looked throught the SMart Gallery and the show was nearing the end. Still prefer the original.

  • Does anyone know what is this music called and where can I get it?

  • It's called "LeftBank2" by the noveltones.

There's some clips of the original piece here on YouTube

  • i like this better than the original, more flowing, mellower, really nice, great job.

  • They use this music in Little Big Planet, too. I knew it sounded familiar.

  • Very happy memories of growing up watching Tony Hart in Vision On and Take Hart. Why on earth you never got an OBE I'll never know. RIP and sincere condolonices to your family.

  • Goodbye Tony. R.I.P. :'(

  • I looked this up because I've just read that, sadly, Tony Hart has died aged 83. I'm sure he must have inspired thousands of young artists.

  • Very Nice

    Tony Hart RIP

  • Tony Hart legend. RIP xx

  • nah m8, though not a bad attempt, the orginal noveltones version is much better, too much organ sounds in this version

  • play it straight - trying to be too creative - and 'organy' spoils it

  • Great playing! But check the semitone at the end of bar 14 - is it really right?

  • Oh heaven just been sent back to my childhood with our tiny black and white telly that had to warm up before you saw any picture. You could quite often hear what was going on but couldn't see it. Loved it

  • Found this song while watching CutNSprays vid on how to make wheat paste, great song! Very catchy :)

  • When my brother was about 5 he sent a drawing of a lighthouse into Vision On hoping to get it shown on the gallery. We waited for weeks and weeks and it didn't appear and then in the half-term break, when we went out and missed Vision On, it was shown! After I'd assured everyone that Vision On wasn't on that afternoon 'cos I wanted us to go out...

  • Where can I get the musical score?

  • I love this!

  • LittleBigPlanet

  • What a great piece of music! just downloaded the original theme 'Left Bank Two' from dewolfeshop...dot...com

  • This would be great in a film, with a massive (and very gory) murder/slash scene! I'd buy that for a dollar!!!

  • It's a wonderful tune--great for road rage!

  • In The gallery played, and this music, way back.

Is there any original footage of this anywhere - we love your drawings but we cant return them, you know.

  • Trowy237: unfortunately, according to Wikipedia, John Williams' Cavatina was the original gallery tune, used until The Deer Hunter film adopted the tune. Left Bank Two was used after this point, and carried on into Take Hart (although Cavatina also made a reappearance here), Hartbeat, and even SMart.

  • A girl in my office called Jelly says that this wasn't the original theme from the Gallery ????? She says it was the theme from the Deerhunter. Please, please put her out of her misery and confirm that the Deerhunter was not the the theme tune.... She doesn't believe anyone in the office as the voices in her head are telling her it's something else......

  • That's true Cavatina was used for The Gallery until it became associated with The Deerhunter at which point they started using this instead, that's what Wikipedia says, unless the girl from your office edited Wikipedia?

  • It brings back memories, there are lots of those on youtube. Try the seekers, cilla, avangers, etc! I love it. Find a memory and type it in, and there you go.

  • the music is called left bank 2

  • yay! i am trying to find this song for a seaside video spoof everywhere. i can find it on here but nowhere else, cant find the actually song anywhere. help me people!

  • slideshows aren't video. save em for flickr

  • how do you upload music to your images on flickr ?

  • Beautiful piece of playing. Thank You.

  • This piece of music is called Leftbank 2 - you can find it on some lounge compilations.

  • Man, oh, man! That sounds sooooo good. I used to watch "Vision On" on WDSU channel 6, in New Orleans, on Saturday afternoons. I used to hope they were not going to shuffle it around for football, golf, or something else less enjoyable.

  • The whole point of this is that in those days broadcasters didn't insult the viewers intelligence no matter what age they were. Pure quality broadcasting. Bring in back - please.....

  • Thats totally classic!! Good memories of when I was a kid watching this show.

  • Great memories of childhood watching Tony Hart gallery. Been trying to get copy of song for my dad but no luck. TV theme done by Wayne Hill I believe.
