Very good picture quality for the price. Just don't get one for gaming, it's too slow. And by too slow I mean I get by okay with a 24" BenQ VA panel monitor, but this 27" is a tad bit slower and the larger surface makes the ghosting appear more clearly. The ghosting depends a lot on which colors are involved in the transition, but in worst case scenarios it's ghosting bad. Still fast enough for everything else but gaming.
Man this monitor in particular is impossible to find reviews for online. I think the design looks great and I can get it on sale for a pretty good price but I would kill to see it actually on and working because I am looking to buy three of them for gaming. I know its kind of hard to judge a monitor through a video but It would be great to see someone even briefly review/give opinions about its screen quality
@jolichja Yeah got bit to excited about the price I could get them for and didn't realize after a quick glance at the specs that the 8ms wasn't black to black but grey to grey.
@Adrastos34 As good as it is i wouldn't go with this for a multiple monitor setup. the bezels while look great are too thick for having multiple monitors.
@JeemOfRunescape Allting är väl relativt, när jag köpte min 20" IPS från dell gick den ju på 3000 eller 3500 och anti-glaren sög ju, vet inte vad en 27" IPS kostar men är det inte typ 7?

Contrary to popular belief and what the LCD manufacturers told you, LED/W-LED backlit monitors actually produce WORSE color reproduction than CCFL ones, at least according to what I've seen from many side-by-side comparisons between monitors that use these two types of backlighting technology.
I have its predecessor, the benQ V2400w and ofcourse I think mine is better looking ^^. Either way, I'm glad they come out with a design like this again. BenQ's LCD are outstanding again since 2007-2008.
DO YOU SHIP TO ENGLAND? ID LIKE TO BUY ONE, the 27"! I Was tempted to buy a 24" here at amazon, but I want the 27" apparently is not in stock yet... when will be the official release date? let me know!
please can you have a vid showing this in use, or the ew2430 :) really looking at this this range , but reviews are sparse and vids showing it in good quality are well, not there :/
@Audzic4 in my opinion 24" is perfect for desktop use. 27inch is good if you're going to sitting a bit further back. You should go to a store and check out the sizes though.
i loved your sibling storry and also my samsung syncmaster p2770 27 inch monitor has about as wide besel but i notice that about a 5th of it is see through and another 5th of it is to slim to fit anything in it but do you think that the monitor bould take any damage if i sanded it down cause then it would become about 15mm wide and totaly capable of eyefinity
Why are all monitor this day even newer one is all 1080P? Whatever happen to 1920 x 1200 or 2560 x 1600? Only a few one and older one have this resolution now.
TNs are good for low-response times, but for image quality/colour reproduction... no.
VAs have too slow response times.
IPS monitors don't have slow or fast response times, but a few have quick times. 5ms is fine. 5ms with 8ms GTG is also acceptable. Any higher... nope :D
Of course, the different specs depend on your needs and wants. There is a reason for all still being in the market for the consumers! :D
Hmmmm, well im defo getting a 27" but should i get asus vk27q with display-port, 2ms and LED for £300 or samsung p2770 monitor/tv 5ms with scart connection for my wii? the choices, the choices. IM an enthusiast gamer and use my comp for dvd/blu-ray and web browsing? any advice would be much appreciated :) thanks

This is a good thing. I bought a 24" BenQ monitor and it had 3 dead pixels near the centre. Those lousy BenQ crooks wouldn't let me RMA it >_< 3 bright green pixels near the centre of my screen. Buyer's remorse to the max.
@LinusTechTips Every time you mention the glossy/matt screen thing i turn my monitor of to try to see if it is matt or glossy. I have a BenQ G2420HD. What type is it?
Doesen't really matters tbh since i never get disturbed by reflections etc, but I would still want to know!
@vadFANeDotA Matte finishes tend to have a smooth touch to them with a slight texture (depends on panel type though). Glossy tend to have a glass or plastic sheet over them, and are finger print magnets, and the dimmer panels tend to hate any kind of light coming from anywhere but the screen and cause reflections and wash the picture out lol. Newer ones with LED backlights tend to be a lot better at handling bright surroundings though. I think you have a matte screen looking at pictures btw.
@knightjocke It's cheaper. They just use the same panels they use in TV's and the same production lines so they don't need to retool them. It's annoying how these days you can't really find good computer monitors any more, unless you look for them, usually online. A few years ago you could get IPS panel displays in most high street electronic stores at 16:10 ratios, now it's all 16:9 TN cheap flimsy stand crap with shocking colour reproduction.
@warmaxxx Any sources? Pixel-response affect the input lag. If the screen/TV take a long time to handle the image with or without image improvement features the input lag goes higher.
There is a EW2730V too, it has component inputs (dvd player for instance) and it has extra rescaling thechnology;s 24 frame rate able to display etc. Not yet available in europe (the 2730 also not available now in june 2011)
Now that you have one... would you give it away to one lucky subscriber to have the first one in Canada? (of course the winner has to be in Canada...)
My Dell 27" has better resolution than 1080p. And its like 3 years old. 1080p on monitors bigger than 24" sucks a fat one. 1080p this and that will be old tech in 2 years.
@skulkloe depends on the use. Its great for video. Imagine looking at a blue ray on this, really you just put it up your table in the living room and its equivalent to a 2 meter diagonal screen that would be on your wall 3,4 meters from you! . Most people think they have cinema lcd at home with a 40 inch screen on their wall. Its a tiny screen when you are 3,5 meters away already! I have no television anymore and this monitor will be used at my pc AND as a movie screen on the table.
Hopefully these 27inchers ones don't have the same ripple effect like the initial release 24inch Benq VA versions. I love mine but it has the ripple along the bottom :(
This is what I hate about the new 1080p phase... It's taking over! I want more 1200p+ monitors. Screw 16:9, and 1080p. I want my monitor to stick out. Hell, if I pay $300+ for my graphics card, I want it to do better than 1080p!
09:00 It's getting it's imput from a VESA (The four holes in the back) mounted computer. Check them out, they are pretty cool for a iMac like setup without costing an arm and leg.
2nd, Alot of People hate Linus & how he only unboxes products instead of reviewing them
3rd, People either hate the way the video was recorded(bad sound or video or linus saying dumb comment's like when he said some of his sport's fan Viewers should Unsubscribe) or people hate the products he reviews.
IDk im just taking a shot in the dark but im guessing thats Why :)
I wish marketing could get it through their thick skulls that glossy is horrible, not what everyone raves for. Cheap looking fingerprint is all that makes it look like...leave the gloss for kids toys. Pro-sumer/Pro gear should always be matte..no exceptions!
Still...that will make a nice monitor for someone. If it were 1920x1200 without gloss, I'd be saving up for one ASAP! :D

This is what I hate about the new 1080p phase... It's taking over! I want more 1200p+ monitors. Screw 16:9, and 1080p. I want my monitor to stick out. Hell, if I pay $300+ for my graphics card, I want it to do better than 1080p!

I sure hope BenQ fixed their issue w/ HDMI set to 1:1 on a 1080p source while having stuttering black bars underneath the picture ....

Height adjustable? If not, the monitor is fail.

If only there was something like a booklet that would tell you what features the monitor has..

09:00 It's getting it's imput from a VESA (The four holes in the back) mounted computer. Check them out, they are pretty cool for a iMac like setup without costing an arm and leg.

60Hz? 3D?!
guigopereira 8 months ago
@guigopereira It has to be 120Hz for 3D because in 3D The GPU needs to render the same frame twice.

As products get more shiny, it's gonna get harder to hide Camera-man and Crazy Russian from view.

why did some pricks thumb the vid down ? why would they do that ?
MultiGeekster 8 months ago
@MultiGeekster
There Could be 3 Reason's why:
1st, Linus is still using retarted intro
2nd, Alot of People hate Linus & how he only unboxes products instead of reviewing them
3rd, People either hate the way the video was recorded(bad sound or video or linus saying dumb comment's like when he said some of his sport's fan Viewers should Unsubscribe) or people hate the products he reviews.
IDk im just taking a shot in the dark but im guessing thats Why :)

@yarlyramuh TN, yes. *IPS, no. VA panels are the middle ground.
