  • erkstein's first name was Abraham. He was a Jew.

  • when did superman renounce his citizenship??

  • it was a good movie, I enjoyed it, didn't wow me but I liked it very much.

  • nice review.

  • Great review, are you gonna watch the new comedy 30 Minutes Or Less? I'd love to hear a review of that :D

  • Hey, Fury. Let's be friends. I'm sorry. I put in my two sense where it wasn't needed. I'm glad you're happy doing what you're doing and being successful at it.

  • The movie was missing that "WOW" factor, nothing really blew me away. I would not have been pissed if I waited for dvd.

  • Is it an American Exceptionalism jerkfest or is there some social commentary in it?

  • @FuryoftheFilmFan. Look it was actuallty pretty ballsy of Kirkby and company for being so out front about being anti-Nazi. There were congressional hearings planned for the movie industry accusing Hollywood of producing anti-Nazi propaganda to influence American foreign policy. Hearings were sent to start on ... December 8th. So, give Captain America's creators props for being ahead of the anti-Nazi curve when it wasn't popular or expedient. Thank you for your alway enthusiastic reviews,

  • But it was STILL before the entry of the UNITED STATES into World War Two when American public opinion was still ISOLATIONIST. Historical context is not solely dependent on dates, and whenCaptain America was initially published, the UNITED STATES was NOT at war.

  • @marcd30319 sigh..congrats..you win the who gives a shit award.

  • Captain America comics came out one year BEFORE Pearl Harbor!

  • @marcd30319 cover-dated March 1941 and on sale in December 1940, a year before the attack on Pearl Harbor, but a full year into World War II !!

  • Fantastic review. You gave a well thought out analysis of Captain America and its characters that reveals the film as something greater that a superhero movie but as an inspirational and patriotic film that people can relate to.

  • I feel the same way about this film. But I felt the 3rd act was rushed. Like they just wanted to get to the end. Cool review btw. Can't wait to agree or disagree with the next film review. Either way, we can converse like adults unlike some people here

  • If all these reviews are objective why are you bringing in personal stories?

  • @Smoovies smoovies, just stop, you are one comment away from being blocked for general douchebaggery, I am seriously getting annoyed at your constant nit picking. Do I come on your channel and tell you what I think about your videos? judge your style? NO. so how about some common courtesy and a little respect. I'm only making the videos that are important for me, a LOT of my videos have personal stories in them, if you don't like it then move on to another critic. plain and simple.

  • @FuryoftheFilmFan :( Me so sowwie. Pwease don't bwock meh.

  • @Smoovies I checked your channel out, I had to, I asked myself..this guy sounds like a real bitch and I was right! you look like a real bitch, the kind of know it all bitch who just annoys everyone around him. cut your fuck hair you nerd. What the hell are you talking about Objective, Fury of the Film Fan gives personal stories in a lot of his reviews, that's because he's honest and talks about how the movies relate to him. check out one of his blog shows someday rather than trolling bitch

  • @DotoftheDead At least I have videos.

  • Funny thing is I never thought of chris Evans as the human tourch, fits the role of Captain much better. Yes agreed they should of had a more band of brothers vibe for a few missions. But, the first half of the movie was perfect for me, yes they had a slow spot in there, but this movie made Thor look like crap or at least for me it did. Nice review pal.

  • Dude, where can I get a copy of your No Texting picture. That thing's awesome! Totally agree with it, haha

  • @KmorrisonNCC1701 you like my propaganda posters? I'll put em up on my facebook

  • I loved the Raiders of the Lost Ark/Star Wars feel this had. I thought the opening was almost exactly like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, where some guys arrive, talk to the person they're meeting, ask what's going on/what they found, they say no problem, then the guy they're meeting says you don't understand, and then you see the object they're talking about, and you're just like "WTF?!" So I really liked this movie, and cannot wait for The Avengers. Btw Fury, did you stay for the credits?

  • Amazing review FotFF! I want to see the film. I can't wait to see it.

I hope The Avengers is decent too.

  • You always take note of issues that never once across my mind, but once upon hearing you mention them, they start to bug me once I start thinking about it...haha!

  • Fury you are absolutely spot on! Captain America could've been a great movie but I feel that Marvel is just saying, "We'll save the greatness until The Avengers".

  • One thing I do have to say is I sure am a BIG fan of Hayley Atwell now! Holy Christcrackers, that is one fine dame! I watched it again yesterday with my family and I have to say, the second time around wasn't very different than the first. My feelings for the film didn't change. It's still a fun film and I really don't think about ALL the flaws until it's over.

  • Its not Buckys movie or the Howling Commando's movie. They didn't need any more emphasis on them.

  • @Furyofthefilmfan I agree with you on the 1 actor should play one comic book hero. When they decided to cast Ryan Reynolds as Dead Pool (which was bogus to begin with), keep him as that, Don't turn him into the Green Lantern. Now Chris Evans as Cpt. America? He did 2 movies as the Human Torch. There are plenty of actors who could use a shot at being recognized world wide, and a good way of doing that is through comic book movies. Chris Hemsworth, no one really knew who he was before ''Thor".

  • @PumpkinEskobarr That being said, Chris Evans was a wonderful Captain America, he nailed the (thankfully not overly) patriotic aspect without being a flag waver, and he genuinely cared about his country and other people. You've also got a point about Chris Hemsworth, most people probably don't recognize him as George Kirk from the opening of Star Trek when he crashed the USS Kelvin into the Narada.....Jesus Christ I'm such a nerd, lol.

  • Awesome review, man.

  • Great review.I've seen the other films. They were aweful.

  • I was pleasently surprised by this movie, slightly even more than Thor, however it somewhat dragged by the end. I loved the last scene though. And the part where they have Cap sell war bonds was priceless. So I'd give it a 7/10.

  • me and you have alot of the same issues with the film i found it to be a good summer action film if only it was longer and more time to explore the characters personalities it could have been great

  • did anyone see the 70s version of captain america, it had a completely different story

  • I respect your opinion but I have to disagree.

  • Superb review, Fury! Absolutely superb! This is why you're such an inspiration. You said everything I wished I had said.. The lack of a believable friendship, the lack of training and establishing the bond with his team. Perfect analysis. I didn't think about that until after my review. Damn, I wish I had the attention span you have, lol! You rock, Fury!

  • @StuffedBurritoEnt I'm only a man Gabe..a shiny..golden...heavenly man...

  • I've only seen Captain America in some cartoon movies and shows. I get the feeling from those movies and shows that he is more of a legend than anything ales. He help America during WWII but know that the good war is over, he doesn't have the same appeal as someone like Spider-man or Batman.

  • I agree with you fury on the one actor one hero thing..., especially if both heroes reside in the same universe (marvel)

  • The Avengers Tie -Ins Ranking

    1) Captain America: The First Avenger- 9/10

    2) Iron-Man- 9/10

    3) Thor- 8/10

    4) Iron-Man 2- 8/10

    5) The Incredible Hulk- 6.5/10

  • @MrIr8urfrigginmovie

Incredible Hulk was much better than Ironman 2 imo.

  • @civilwarfare101 Really? I honestly did not like The Incredible Hulk that much. It was weird that once the Hulk actually appeared on screen, it became boring. I believe that Iron Man 2 is extremely underrated.

  • @MrIr8urfrigginmovie

I found the Hulk action scenes to be a lot of fun to watch. Ironman 2 had too much comedy and not enough action for my taste. I can forgive the first movie for not having much action, but I found it rather annoying in the sequel. A lot of the fight scenes in Ironman 2 sucked.

  • @civilwarfare101 For me though, all the Hulk had was action. Everything else was just boring about the film. Iron Man had great characters and a great story to follow and so did the second film. Sure the action was pretty bad in the films but everything else about the movies made me not care. The Hulk on the other hand was really dull and boring in my opinion. I did not hate the film though. It had it's moments but it just was not enough to top the other Marvel Studios films.

  • @MrIr8urfrigginmovie

I also really enjoyed Ironman's story and characters. I really enjoyed Edward Norton as Bruce Banner (sucks that he's not in the avengers movie), William Hurt was fun to watch as General Ross and I found Abomination to kick a lot of ass. I liked Ironman 1 more than Incredible Hulk, but I found Incredible Hulk to be much better than Ironman 2. Incredible Hulk is easily better than the 2003 piece of garbage.

  • @civilwarfare101 No doubt man. Ang Lee is a great director but his Hulk film was garbage. Edward norton was a fantastic Bruce Banner and William Hurt was great as General Ross as well. I just wish that they had more to do in the movie. And I agree with you on Abomination. He was just a pure badass villain. It sucks that Edward Norton is being replaced by Mark Ruffalo but Ruffalo is also a great actor so it could come out great. I just hope in the future they improve on the Hulk films.

  • @MrIr8urfrigginmovie

If it hadn't been for Ang Lee's garbage movie, we could've gotten an Incredible Hulk 2 by now.

  • @civilwarfare101 there sort of was a Hulk 2 with Edward Norton. it was very good, but Norton had problems with Marvel studios

  • I loved this movie. Sure it had it's flaws but all of the good aspects of the movie outweighted the flaws. I was a huge comic book fan as a child (still am now) and I could never get into Captain America's comics, so judging this movie as a film fan and not a comic book fan, I loved it. I actually want to see it again and that is rare for me to want to see a movie in theatres twice. Great review as always Fury. Wish that you could have liked it more though, but great review none the less.

  • @FarCry21 Completely agree

  • True, one actor one hero

  • Great review. I agreed 100%. First review of the film that I completely agree with. Did you see the post credit "scene"? It was glorious.

  • I know I won't like this film. And it has nothing to do with my geographical location, or political views. I hated the Thor film (I'm Scandinavian), and I fell asleep during The Green Lantern. Hollywood is just pumping out these superhero films, by utilizing the same safe method of storytelling that is seriously too stale for someone like me, but they bury it down with an overflow of special effects.

  • @sinbysin666 I would say that's a reasonable and safe assumption.

  • @sinbysin666

I know I'm scandinavian too. And I had to sit through hours of history lessons to learn norse gods and mythology! To see it being ripped apart in the first few minuttes was really low (Thor is norse why does he speak english?). But if i want to understand The Avengers i need to see it and Captain America.

  • @sinbysin666 well said!! thank you!

  • I think Evans has been slowly redeeming himself with roles like this and Scott Pilgrim. I also hope people have gotten over the whole supposed jingoistic feel for the hero and realized over the past few years he's been anything but.

  • @Woodshatter Evans has no need to redeem himself. He was in Sunshine, one of the best movies of the decade, and he was hardly the problem with the Fantastic Four movies.

  • Just bronze?

  • @alittleolder yeah man, wasn't really a silver film, fun film but nothing to go OMG about.

  • Outstanding, as usual.. maybe I should pick it up on blu.. as you know.. I am very picky with what I buy on Blu Ray! ;-)

  • good review man
