  • You ought to ask them why they are not abiding by the rules, their charter not to be bias or show untruth...they clearly break both these rules, and have had to admit this several times, therefore why should we pay for a licence and abide by their rules.

  • @madzndean

Then make a choice, dump it or keep it.

dump it and all of the problems that it comes with, fade away...

Keep it? then stop complaining! THEY are the ones watching the stupid thing!

    HA!

  • why are they whispering

  • @ybot1983

i was out of breath - running up and down stairs - trying not to sound out of breath, duno why has was though?

  • I HAVE A VIDEO HOW TO NEVER PAY FOR THE LICENCE AGAIN EVER!!!

  • @dogmugga1

so have I... you just commented on it - DUMP your television :o)

  • What was he doing with Stirling Moss's ID card?

  • The BBC are in my way to free TV, I never asked them to produce and transmit TV, if they want money the ONLY fair and lawful remedy is for them to go subscription. and if they don't then they should stop producing and transmitting. You are either a government shill or just a dumb slave, please stop bring the rest of us down to your fearful negative slavedom reality

  • @therhythmicmenace (it makes me angry, hence the language)

  • @therhythmicmenace

    Why should you be angry?

If you know by putting your finger in the fire you will be burnt, so why cry about it hurting every time you do?

Acceptance? Or crying about the pain when we keep poking your finger into the bloody fire?

This is the very reason why I gave up TV, it's a bad distraction that manipulates ones emotions into trivialities of the mundane..

    Me a slave? Prob!

A Shill? Doubt it; I have no idea what I am on about most of the time anyway.

  • All you have shown me is that you are prejudiced, presumptuous, use stereotypes as concrete facts, can't follow an argument, write like a juvenile, repeat yourself and know fuck all about any "ghettoes". You know nothing of this man. Please enjoy my own snap judgements about you and don't bother replying:

    You are a cunt.

    You are a virgin.

  • Most of these comments, as well as the thoughts of most people as very oldfascioned. Here's why.

TV's are by fact now days just a big monitor. Get it through your heads.

Most people my age uses their big screen tv's in conjunction with their computer, console, other kind of entertainment services. Just by having a TV doesn't mean that it's used for watching TV-channels.

Stop making the assumption which only fits the FM-radio. If i have a Surround receiver, should i also pay taxes for radio??

  • I have a 42 inch plasma, but do not watch program's as they are broadcast in fact I don't watch terrestrial TV ever,I use it 80% for video games & 20% for movies streamed from my PC,I had a visit from TV license enforcement who I let in my house, they asked me to turn on my TV & select channel one etc & when they saw that my TV was indeed not hooked up to receive broadcasts they left happy,I have not heard from them since. So if you are told you MUST own TV license if you own a TV,it`s not true.

  • hahahah how is that TV license thing working for the UK??? lol not too good looks like.. Infringing on people's rights to watch something is against the law. Guess the UK gov wants an occupy movement.

  • Look at the state of your garden - bet you have an old couch sitting in the back yard,a dirty big Alsation that shits everywhere and an old car rotting in the drive......welcome to the council ghetto's of the UK - the big rusty sky dish will be on the front of this benefit paid rent council house just to finish off the picture! YEUGH!

  • @tartandaddy wow what a snob!

  • @paulspydar Are you? - don't worry you'll get over it.

  • @tartandaddy His grass is a bit overgrown in the winter and he has a mossy path, hardly crime of the century. You sound like a teenager and/or a cunt.

  • @MrRay523 I sound like a what? Go get your ears and eye's checked - and take a closer look at this license dodging benefit claiming parasite. Would you want to live next door to this lazy article?

  • @tartandaddy I looked, why don't you tell me what you can see that i cant? He clearly has an anti television agenda. You're making assumptions it seems to me, i don't remember anything about him being on benefits.

  • @MrRay523 Get out and take a walk into these benefit claiming ghettoes - can you not see what is going on ? I don't need to read a document on what this man's lifestyle is - it is so clear it screams at you - by standing at the front of the house I can tell you: Massive flat screen TV fridge full of beer house rank with fag smoke worn 1960's brown settee nylon loud worn flower pattern carpet dirty big dog He is on invalidity benefits full rent paid and he sits on his ass all day.......Wake UP!
  • Does it work in Ireland?

  • @bridge1881 only North - S.Ireland get to watch it for free because they are not attached to the mainland UK

  • Is it not just the BBC you pay the TV Licence for?

Or has the law changed? Because I do not watch any of the BBC channels on my T.V, So if I asked Virgin Media to remove or block BBC channels from my set and they did so would I still have to pay my T.V Licence?

  • @GerEnglander Last I heard it was for having a TV set - I agree that is unfair though

  • @GerEnglander

    yes.

you could still be watching live broadcasts - any - live broadcasts

  • @GerEnglander have you read the small print of a tv licence? You need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast. This includes the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder.

  • Mike Read. An alternative "career" for the TVL guy is obviously as a Mike Read Look 'a like Tribute Act.

I would watch the Utube vid mate ;)

  • @markhorneyuk Well done. Remember the zero contact rule and this scum are powerless.

  • Isn't it stressful waiting for them to turn up all the tim?.Nice job btw,

  • @planetrockford

    who to turn up?

  • LMAO This is like a sketch show lol Well done ! Instant fave !! ;)

  • @markhorneyuk Well you know what to do if he turns up again, simply don't answer the door. No chat=no faked confession form. Research the number of complaints against TVL, you'll see what sculduggery they are capable of.

  • @onlywhenpissed, the fact was, I was going to pay for it, as I just moved in and was SAVING up my money up for a licence, I had to ask my mum and dad for the rest of the money to pay for the year, no fine was imposed, but I advise people to becareful of theses guys, they will do anything or say anything to get inside your mind or property.

  • @DumpYourTelevision Bullies in jeans. That's TVL for you.

  • see, the guy came to my door, didn't show his id, he came as a survey inspect, then she showed the licence...,, pretty scammy to get people off guard.

  • @markhorneyuk

I noticed that with a visit I had several years ago, he asked for me by name before announcing who he was, as soon as I acknowledged my name he quickly dived into his rear pocked and pulled out the I.D card for TVL.. not only was this rude and discourteous it was very disconcerting and made me feel as if I was being "bullied" with the "authority" in which he was trying to impose upon me.

He was wearing jeans and trainers which is not the correct attire for doing TVL visits.

  • @DumpYourTelevision , well, the guy who knocked on my door, was a black guy, wearing black coat, white shirt and tie and black trousers or jogging bottoms, didn't pay attention to the clothing type, just the colour and he asked for the prevous tennant who lived there, when I moved in, there was like 9 letters from tv licence people, address to prevous tenant and I only just moved in, my first ever flat after being on the housing list for about 2 years living with mum and dad.

  • @DumpYourTelevision Why should we pay for the bbc if we do not like it, sounds very draconian.

  • @therhythmicmenace

    Why?

Simply because if you watch TV you should...

Get rid, and DUMP your Television, or, hands in pocket and pay-up!

  • @DumpYourTelevision

F*** OFF tyrant scumbag, you can't force me to pay for anything, theres hundreds of other channels to watch that ARE FREE.

  • @therhythmicmenace

so why you moaning on here then?

I guess you think thats free too?

  • @therhythmicmenace you dont have to pay it. if you dont watch it at all then you dont have to, only if you watch BBC you have to. its a service, you watch you pay. simple

  • @DarkDanjamin

    F*** OFF! f***ing slave

  • I had one of theses guys knock on my door, when I just moved in, they never ask if I have a TV, they asked "hello, sir, i'm from the bbc, are you happy with the bbc channels that we provide?".

  • Actually, you do not need a TV Licence to watch TV, you just need a TV Liecence to watch BBC programs, that's why it's actually called the BBC TV Licence, they take out the word BBC, so that you will buy it, thinking "oh, i have to have a licence to have a TV", plus, if you haven't got a means of connection to terrestial tv and guy comes in and inspect the tv by putting his finger in the back and shows a picture, that's an accuse to fine you for not having the licence apparently....evil, i know.

  • now, with the switch over, if you have an old fashion colour tv, or the first ever HD tv that doesn't come with DTV, there is no means to harress you about having a television and doing the old finger in the arial socket trick, because from april, if you have a digibox or a DTV television, or skybox or freesat box, then you are in trouble, don't believe this rubbish about theses vans, from april, you can freely have a tv in your house (if non-digital) and watch your movies in peace.

  • @markhorneyuk Spot on.

  • @T0X0PHILUS Technically your statement us incorrect. The law says you MUST have one but you can still watch any channels without a licence. You just have to keep below the radar :) Not that I condone licence evasion of course no matter how much Indetest the scum at TVL.

  • great dumpyourtelevison, ive got them knocking on my door at the mo,next time they answer im going to do exactly as you did cheers pal

  • @Cyrax181

Well I sure hope you dont use a TV for watching live programs?

I would be very dissapointed if you are trying to get something that you should be paying for, for free?? .. if you are DUMP your TV and join the many thousands that are enjoying a life free of TV.

What? the misses wants the TV? what are YOU doing to make HER want YOU more than the TV? work on it dude! :o)

  • amazing

  • look how fucking pleasant they are to each other.

its a damn police state that would sooner see you lick the queens asshole, than have you be a free citizen, but they will force you to do it with kindness.

  • @NoahHoe

    Perhaps a better phrase?

"they will force you to do it under the guise of kindness"

Where paper work over rides human thinking, compassion and discretion. Funny, those who work for corporations/pubic servants are seemingly turning into computers, as they only do what they are “PROGRAMED” to do.

My ex boss said to me once.. “I DON'T pay you to THINK!”

  • I don't even watch tv since I found you tube.lol

  • Confused American here :) Is a TV license like cable TV in America,..or do you seriously need your TV's licensed, like a car?

  • @chllywllyd The TV licence pays for BBC programmes which are broadcast without adverts. You must have one to watch live television even if you never watch a BBC programme.

  • @T0X0PHILUS

Thanks,..well that suks, but we pretty much have to pay(or get very limited channels) and we still have commercials :/

  • I've never heard of a TV license before, living in Canada. Is this common in many other countries or just UK?

  • @colinsn201

    h t t p : / / en. wikipedia . org /wiki/ Television_licence

  • @DumpYourTelevision Wow! Thankyou very much. I need to look into this. Not that I've even turned on a TV in the last 2 years....

  • @hackingpete sorry but this is a fucking stupid comment. you think the same of David Attenborough's programmes? Inside nature's giants? meerkat manour, animal hospital, animal park.. I'm sure someone with different interests to me can list a lot more. SOME television CONTENT could be seen that way but it is purely down to the individual as to whether or not they want to let themselves become the way people think tv makes them. Fucking sick of humans blaming other things for their own flaws..

  • @hozbeb

Naaa, the only stupid thing about having a TV is having a TV, I know that cause I used to have one.

David who? who cares? just the TV addicts!

  • if i own a tv but only use for xbox and then watch tv through my laptop do i need to pay the t.v licence

  • the perfect way to deal with these people. and, of course, the best way to avoid these laws is to not own or watch a TV. pure brain rot...

  • @hackingpete

    Amen!! to that!

  • @tudortoomey Could just be an empty threat, I had the same letter this week. Have a camera by your door just in case they do come. Film the door being slammed on them.

  • They're coming round to me in a few days. I've never been so excited.

  • @godkingRoss I was kidding. The scum at tv licensing (The BBC) disgust me beyond comprehension.

  • Just don't watch TV, it feels great after a few months.

My political ideals changed dramatically after realising what the BBC were really about.

Oh, the BBC accepted £3,000,000 in bribes from Brussels, if you were in any doubt.

  • You don`t need a TV License if you don`t watch or record live TV.

  • @ged8802

Nor do you need one for driving your car, mowing the grass or shouting obscenities to your loved ones... Just saying....

Fact is you dont even need a TV... just saying,,,,

  • Having the cctc gave him time to unplug the aeriel in case the tv guy got a warrant. Pay up you license dodger you are only costing the rest of us that finance the best institution in the UK a whole load of cash.

  • @GRPLiningServices best institution in the UK, you are joking right? Why should people who do not watch TV be constantly harrassed and forced to pay for other people's propaganda?

  • @GRPLiningServices "best institution in the UK"

surely you mean "best propaganda arm in the UK"

  • Your just being awkward, its obviously not harrassment. Think of all the people who cheat the government, they're only checking up on people to see if they can find anyone breaking the law. Your a prick really

  • @ihave4gt

    you're a prick really

  • Comment removed

  • @DumpYourTelevision brilliant comeback. There are better ways to deal with people, i.e. not acting like he's just arse raped your mum.

  • First World problems.

  • @majorkeybaree

    Go back to sleep.

you missed the real message that lies on this video, your trivial observations are masked by your manipulated opinions forced down your neck by a consumeristic sheep pen.

What a tragic comment you made ...

  • @DumpYourTelevision I'm sorry, you're a true hero.

  • @majorkeybaree

And your an idiot.. but hey ho... the wind and the rain

  • @insideahorse I wouldn't. The sooner the BBC and their threatening manner pisses off the better.

  • haha oh my gosh, I never even answer the door, crapping it, a if I'm going to be arrested or some shit :O now I honestly can't wait till they next come round, thanks man!

  • you sounded so evil, the tv dude was prob shitting is self

  • Orrrr instead of being a douche bag to him you could inform him that you do not have a tv.... I guess some people thrive of trying to belittle people and "Beat the system" when in reality you are the one who really has the problems, There is a huge difference between knowing your rights and having an attitude problem!

  • @CalcityAirsoft

They have been informed... several times.

Fell off your bike have we?

  • @CalcityAirsoft

Well I can see that the "rub" here is that you are quite miffed lol.. thats cool dude!

I used to get like that when those horrid letters came through the door, I got over it and love to see "ordinary" people getting off on one because I am not conforming to an invasion of privacy, perhaps when you are not so red faced you may see the irony in your comment..

    knock knock... haha

  • @Mr70sFunk

You own a plasma monitor and you call me stupid... ?

  • hehe creepy sinky bastard like hehehe

  • ah mate that was so cool, well done!

  • TV license??? Hahaha. That sounds STUPID! You have to have a license to have TV in your home?

  • @du24pont70

    No...

  • @du24pont70 The fee goes to pay for the BBC. The BBC is worthwhile if only that they provide programming that isn't interupted by commercials. It seems a bit nuts but I have watched TV in countries which show 7 minutes of programme interspersed with 10 minutes of commercials, making a film like 'the godfather' last 5 hours. We all complain about the TV license but I think we would miss it if the BBC were gone

  • @insideahorse

    What has TV given you?

Can you do stuff that it has taught you? what stuff can you do because of TV?

  • @DumpYourTelevision it gave me a neck ache once. The BBC does radio too, or is that equally as bad?

  • Look at it this way to pay the head of the BBC Mark Thompson 2010 annual salary of £834,000 you would have to collect 5750 full TV licenses, don't you think thats a bit wrong? then you have all the other management who are on similar money. Too many people on too much money. I personally have watched everything on-line now for the past 3 years, no live broadcasts. i only have an X-box connected to the TV for gaming, Don't waste £145.50 on these people, i am not breaking the law in any way.

  • @BeastlyDean 2011 licence fee is £145.50 (not that I'll be buying one). The average fine (if you convict yourself by letting this scum into your house is often less than the cost of the licence fee.

  • you can own a TV without a license (i do, just for the DVD player) but you can also watch all the channels other than BBC ones, and still not need a license

  • @RustyNex

bollox.... what a load of misinformed BOLLOX

  • @DumpYourTelevision care to explain?

  • @RustyNex

If you read the informed comments here, I wont have to.

or better still pop over to the TV License website and inform your self.

Seriously though, many people on youtube are giving mis-info and it creates more problems than you could imagine, on many subjects.

  • @RustyNex your a moron. you need to read up on your information before misinforming more gullible fools.

  • @Kosmetik thanks for your input, you are doing a great service defending the internet, youtube would be chaos without you

  • Somebody explain to me what a "TV Licence" is.What the hell...do you have to have a licence to watch TV?Am I correct that this is in the UK?.What the hell is going on?

  • @profsat5 its a fee (£142 a year I think) you pay to watch TV programmes as they as being broadcast. e.g. The news. it pays for the BBC because they don't get their money back from adverts, like on every other channel.

You can watch TV without a license, but you can be fined up to £1000.

Yes, this is in the UK.

  • If only somebody could design a device, similar to a PVR, which delays the television picture by 1 minute, then you wouldn't need a TV licence because you aren't watching it live as it is being broadcast. Simple loophole!

  • @TelevisionBritish

    no no no and NO!

Just dump your television and have done with it...

  • @TelevisionBritish there is apparently a delay of some seconds between the analog signal and the digital, but I'm honestly not sure how much of a delay is required to stop it being 'live'.

  • @jwhitenstall It's an interesting idea. What exactly DOES the BBC define as 'LIVE'. Live to the second? Live to the minute?

  • He was just trying to be nice

  • I appreciate that you were testing the 'no obligation to answer' theory, but if this happens every few years, have you given them an explanation as to why you don't have to pay for a licence? It's just that if you haven't, then maybe it's not harassment. There are people out there who watch TV and don't pay for a licence, clearly that's not you, so it's just wasting their resources if you keep refusing to tell them reasons why you don't need to pay for one.

  • @ryan270286

Have you not read the description?

Maybe anyone who knocks on your door that you dont have to speak to, is harassment -

In gen anyone who knocks on your door is normally a sales person/beggar (all ACTING under control from a corporation) if its not your friends or family.

btw, its not wasting their resources - its a business, so its classed as business expenses, and as so: it's TAX deductable.

  • I haven't watched TV in over 12 years and I don't miss it the slightest bit. I utterly refuse to pay for a TV license, I refuse to watch all the rubbish they call entertainment. I refuse to be spoken to as though i'm the lowest common denominator in the country. I refuse to swallow all the media propaganda they try to pass off as truth. - F*%k em'

  • @JOE1986D The fact that the goon even walked on his prodety is harrassment. So is the way he was peering through the windows.

  • TV Licence? Is that like The USA's Cable television? A monthly fee but you call it TV Licence?

  • @hotdog2020

    no.

google uk tv license or go to

    3w's tvlicensing dot co.uk

  • @DumpYourTelevision Wow that is just crazy. We have pbs(Public broadcast service) it is ran on donations from viewers and companies but it is not manditory.

Public service broadcaster that you have to pay for just because you own a tv,pc or radio! Wow is all I can say.

  • @hotdog2020

    noooo!!! ha...

If I own a TV i DONT have to pay for a license just because it sits on a box in a corner of a room. ONLY if I use it to WATCH LIVE broadcasts as they are shown on live TV,

For watching DVD's, VHS, CCTV, Toilet spy cams etc... NO license required..

    hmmm kaaaay? 0.o

  • @hotdog2020 its because the BBC has no commericals!!!! thats why you have to pay a fee!!!!

  • @hardman476

    LOL

    hahahahaha....

    I dont HAVE to..

  • @hardman476 That sounds good then. Ads get on my nerves lol

  • I used it to watch presstv news but the government shut that down last week for showing the truth now I watch rt news and channel 200 edge media I dont bother with the zionist crap or BBC or any news or soaps it just for the kids realy and they are awake to reality wont let them get brainwashed by usa rubbish I see were your coming from.

you will like this on my channel.

    watch?v=Mks5rnTayko&list=UUIIl0w2duJodE7NUSzqgNZQ&index=75&feature=plcp

  • I'm from the states and never heard of a tv license. What is it?

  • @flooringpro A TV license is just another corporate fee levied against the entire UK population that allows them to "legally" watch the television. This is just a statutory act of parliament, and therefore only given the force of law by the "consent" of the governed.

  • Why bother answering the door at all? Were you feeling lonely?

  • @WeAreChangeTelford

Naa. just testing the "no obligation" which I heard about..

    Want a chat?

Sorry just making some bread - in a bit :o)

  • GREAT VIDEO MAN i HAD SAME RESULTS THEY KEEP COMING BUT NEVER EXTRACT ANY FUNDS FOR THE CORPORATE LIE MACHINE THE BBC IM HAPPY TO SEE PEOPLE WAKING UP THEY HAVE NO POWER THEY ARE BULLYS EVERYONE DO THE SAME AND IF YOU HAVE SKY PLUS DO AS I DO MY SKY IS PAUSED FOR 15 MINS THEN I START TO VIEW SO IT AINT A LIVE BROADCAST IM WATCHING 15 MINS AFTER IT IS AIRED WHICH IS LEGAL YOUR TV DOESNT NEED A LICENSE TRY TELLING YOUR TV IT NEEDS ONE I GOT NO WHERE WITH MY TV IT IGNORES ME.

  • @edtheball69

you have missed the point completely, this videos is not about that at all.

Sorry dude; no offence ment here.. You are still sleeping when it comes to watching TV no matter what dely you have with your sky high prices box to justify watching brainwashing consumer designed crap.

Dump your TV and do something more interesting with your life -

I am just making a stack of bread - yummy! = thanks to me for not watching TV :o)

Let me know when you have dumped the TV hmm kaay?

  • When you dont ahve a TV for watching live broadcasts and that they have been to check in the past, anything else is just harassment - and rude, he didnt even say hello before asking very personal questions.

Yeah, UK had a Law where you had to pay TAX for glass windows - how things change eh?

  • First of all, this didn't look like harassing. The gent spoke very polite and he wasn't rude at all.

Second of all the TV licensing is the dumbest law in the world. you need to pay to watch tv? Are you serious? You buy the TV, you buy the pack from providers to watch any channels and then you need to buy the TV license to watch them? that is a sack of @#$@. but hey, UK had a law for windows and for chimney pots, so it's kind of obvious that they tend to have dumb laws all the time.

  • @JOE1986D It is easy to find an explanation on the Internet of how the TV Licence Fee works. Too long to go into here, but it was designed to keep the BBC self-funding and therefore free from government interference. It works out at 60 cents a day, and for that you get 5 BBC channels and a dozen or so independents. BTW, we have a law against carrying guns, as a result of which our firearms-related death rate is 1% of the United States'. That doesn't seem so dumb.

  • @HengistR The gun law is far away from TV licensing. But I understand your point.

  • Sorry to appear ignorant, but I haven't heard of a tv license. In America a tv license gives you permission to broadcast on tv. Is it like cable? Do you actually need to apply for a license to watch tv? I despise tv to the last pixel and I try to get those close to me to stop watching the horrid thing. There are so many great books to devour, I need twenty lifetimes to just make a dent. Health, love and peace to you.

  • I gave up television a long time ago its a brainwashing tool.

  • How little do these inspectors get paid ? I just looked up and it's 150 for the license. Surely the cost to pay the inspector, supervisors, dispatchers, computer support, vehicles, mailing, form printing, inspection equipment, gas(petrol), and everything else must eat up all of that if not more.

  • @randrews02809

Who cares? it has nowt to do with me as I am not a license payer, let the mugs who watch TV and pay the license fee pay for them.

  • The TV Inspector (cough) would defiantly have another career as a Mike Read look alike.

  • @DumpYourTelevision That's perfectly logical - but iirc there's a bit on the TV licence site that you can say "I have no TV" and they tend to leave you alone. They did it to our student property and after we said that we didn't need on we got no more bother from them.

(In response to your comment on my vid which you might not get, no I didn't)

  • @GonegalRose

sorry you didnt get 1st... its very interesting that stuff.

I would get a decent mic though, SAMSON do cheap USB mics that sound like radio quality! I have one for my piano stuff, and looney rants on here :O)

  • @hubswitch Ask away. I'm not saying that he's right in taking the personal information btw, just that the point of them providing "I don't need a license" is to avoid this.

  • @GonegalRose

    Ask away?

hmm, so you are open to be taken advantage of, or possibly you could be asked a question that would incriminate yourself.

For example did you not say "you cant help but feeling" ?? theres a serious side to that if you catch my drift.(I thought it quite funny tbh)

Words are funny, and can be taken out of context very easy, legalese is a mine field.

Dont be so open about answering question from strangers. Remember what your mother told you! DONT speak to strangers!

  • Can't help but feel you could just call them and say "Yup, no TV at this address"...

  • @GonegalRose

    Keep feeling the buts..

Seriously though, why should I answer anyone who comes to my doorstep asking personal questions? If I knocked on your door asking personal questions I am sure that you would put me to rights.. Just becuase I hold up a card that says I am blahh blahh don't mean a jot, he could have been anybody, and he was.

Can I ask you a personal question?

  • @TheAustiniho Me scared of a TVL goon? Do me a favour. That scum cannot intimidate me by posting me threatening letters and rude doorstep visitors as seen in this video.

  • wait, so in wat country do u need a license to own a tv?

  • @cryhvc

    NONE

  • @DumpYourTelevision Then what is the scam here? It doesn't make any sense

  • @TheAustiniho One visit is harrassment. If you tell the scum at TVL you don't need a licence they think you are a liar and send a goon round to check up on you. The public is not impressed with being called liars.

  • @onlywhenpissed

    Only because they usually are....

If you aren't then why are you so scared of their presence?

  • @TheAustiniho @onlywhenpissed

Perhaps this guy would prefer to live in a house made of glass, just so that everyone can see what he is up to, nothing to hide - nothing to fear.

I enjoy my privacy - esp in my own house, seems many are of the opinion they want houses made of glass - must be a market there!

(day dreams of glass houses - and laughs to ones self)

  • @Caladria88 They are called goons because goons are intimidators and heavies. This goon is no different. If the legal occupier hadn't got that camera trained on him the outcome could have been very different. Plenty of Youtube videos show the bad behaviour of the goons (aka powerless scum)

  • Why is he a goon? He's just a public worker, like half the country.

You need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast. This includes the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder.

  • @Caladria88

I never said he was a goon... YOU just did.

    And thanks for another "REMINDER"

btw, half the country is just country, people are people. Words are funny sometimes eh?

Do yourself and your family a BIG Favor! .. DUMP YOUR TELEVISION!

  • so you have a tv but its not connected to a satelite or box? or do you literaly have no tv at all for example the actual screen/monitor.

  • @ELFHUNTER50

Hi Paul, there's only one way to answer that question without causing offence.

    And I just did.

I only answered it that way because your question started with a presumption, if on the other hand you had worded it less "implying I had a TV" then I may have opened up a bit more :O)

("So you have a TV..." - replaced by - "Do you have a TV...")

    Words are funny things eh

  • @ELFHUNTER50 instead of asking "do you have a TV", they should be asking "do you watch live televised broadcasts".

"If you do not use your television set to watch or record live broadcast programmes you will NOT need a licence. This means that you would NOT need a licence if, for example, you only:

    - use the television set as a computer monitor

    - use it play electronic games

    - watch pre-recorded videos or DVDs."

You can watch "catch up" services on the PC legally when you want!

  • @smartarse001 thank you =).

  • Get over yourselves guys, The TV license people have a job to make sure that the people who use their tv's to watch tv pay for that service. Unfortunately not all people are as law abiding as yourself, therefore checks need to be made. 3 times is not harassment, Get over it!

  • @TheAustiniho

    Get over what?

You seem to be slightly annoyed?

Feeling a little angst toward something are we?

    Seems irony rules the day.

Thank you for your very valuable comment. :o)

  • @DumpYourTelevision

    Get over yourself.

Not angst, i pity you and the tv license guy trying to do his job.

You because you have been visited three times, at great detriment to your mental health.

And the guy, because he has come up against an obtuse prat while just trying to do his job.

If you weren't so self righteous and awkward, maybe the guy would trust that you did indeed just use the tv as a foot stool....

  • @TheAustiniho

    I have..

Isn't it about time you got over yourself.... here you are spouting off as if you had one of those horrid letters they send.. ha.. the irony!

You've just made my evening :o) thanks !

  • @DumpYourTelevision

    Horrid letters? rofl!

I have a tv license, so have not suffered such pain, hardship, and suffering.

I'm sorry if it offends you that i don't agree with your point of view. You bleet on as if you are on a par with the suffering of the women of Sierra Leone. Sorry to hurt your sensitive feelings, you're not!

I actually applaud you for not having a TV, but trying to be a martyr just makes you look silly.

I'm glad i brightened up your evening.

  • @TheAustiniho, I if I was a TV watcher I wouldn’t think twice about it, and would probably think exactly as you do. However, because I used to think like you and now I know better, I think it quite ironic that people try to justify their ignorance with comments just like yours. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I’m just being realistic.

Why dont you try giving up the TV and see what happens? you might like it.

But the intrusion of TVL might get on "your tits" after a few years.

    Are YOU a liar?
