Plus the Mercedes G55 has a slight delay in throttle because Mercedes set that up for off-road driving... If that's removed, the G wagon can get to 60 in under 5 seconds.
If you're blind, you won't be able to see in the video that yes it does reach 60 MPH in five seconds; even stock is well faster than 60 kmh in five seconds.
I come out about 30 HP higher than the Brabus, 120 less ft lb torque, but $90k more money in my wallet and a vehicle that any Benz dealer can still service, as long as I tell them to keep their hands off the ECU. :-)
I HAVE GOT TO TRY THAT!!!! i heard that you can still tune an amg engine? a friend told me that a klienman (not sure of the spelling) will get it up to 500+ bhp, but cats (the merc dealer here in manila) don't sell tunning parts (other than amg, or for repairs). anyway, mine will be a year old this october, and it still works & feels like when i first got it! i'm a little concerned about fuel costs, but it's an evil i'm willing to live with with my baby...
Really the fuel mileage didn't change much; I was averaging 11 mpg before the work, and 470 HP stock, then after cat delete, high flow muffler, Kleeman headers, downpipes, throttle body, ECU mods, pulley and a new water pump, I get 10.5 mpg and an extra 150 HP.
that's good to know, i've asked around and from what people told me, i can only get kleeman mods through importers (and they cost alot!) but i've already asked a friend whose the mechanic for my cars and he's going to get the stuff for me, other than changing oil, i don't really know what goes into the engine...
agreed. although the original Hummer is a beast and is truly an off road giant..the H2 / H3 well, I've heard many people try to say it's in the same league as G55??! um..no.
Might as well drive a BTR-70, costs the same & uses the same amount of gas.
