  • When he was on the tank destroyer (during the winter) firing the machine gun, he said it was the first time that winter that his feet had been warm.

  • wasn't there snow on the ground during the battle with the tank machine gun? Awesome guy

  • after fighting in, and surviving 100 battles in ww2, the poor bastard died of a FUCKING PLANECRASH!! i mean how retarded is that?!?!?!

  • @thomas93498 He was considered for playing the villain in the first dirty harry movie too bad he died then the plane crashed into a mountain

  • the most decorated man in all of ww2

  • Always thought it strange how he could go through the real helll of war and then basically play dress up for Hollywood. He was supposedly having nightmares of his days in service which makes reliving the fighting so strange.

Same with actor Lee Marvin who served in the Pacific theatre and had a drink problem associated with his WW2 experiences.

Audie a true hero along with the likes of Lee Marvin and every man and woman who put their life on the line.

  • WOW im loving all the comments from a NON-military point of view

this guy wasnt full of himself

how the fuck do you think he got that medal?

hell the last time i was in combat the pure FEAR i felt is like nothing you movie critics will EVER feel

the medal of honor is about risking your life for others

he didnt even what to star in this movie

  • Well i've read a little about this guy and what he did seems really awesome. But i don't know. I have a little trouble getting that this guy did all the things he did and saw the things he saw and later write a book about it, star in the movie based on that same book and acting in 43 other movies and singing and stuff. Something tells me that this guy really really loved him self and thought he was the most awesome guy ever. I dont know i dont want to judge him but im feeling a little off i this

  • @KPisce89 he was exploited by those who didn't give a flying fuck about what he went through and became an alcoholic. he also possibly caused the urban legend of the lunatic who hides a .44 magnum under his pillar because he actually hid a .44 magnum under his pillar long after the war. he was an outstanding hero but the story of his life is nothing but sad. there are just one scandinavian and one german war hero who accomplished more and a lack of hollywood saved their post-war lives.

  • Audie Murphy did some amazing things, but that probably was because he was psychotic. He had no regard for his own life and luck was on his side. His 1955 biographical movie (where the footage for this video obviously comes from), was just 10 years after the war; but I suppose he forgot what a German uniform is supposed to look like. The movie was so cheesey; they used the WW1 steel helmets for the Germans and practically no field gear. The famous battle at the end was supposed to be in winter.

  • @M35kriegsmarine Critiquing movies from the 50's is your profession now huh? Again, quit obsessing about the movie and show some respect for a war heroe you stupid homo.

  • @beaman1981 No, but military uniforms are my profession. I don't like the movie, which doesn't mean that I'm "obsessing" about it. I'm no "homo", but you are probably a homo, who is in love with Audie Murphy.

  • fact the directors didnt allow some scenes because the TRUTH was to unrealistic oh and the tank he was on that one soldier said "that tank could blow up any minute" after it ran out of ammo and he was returning to his friends it blew up behind him btw he actualy lied about his age using a loophole so he was younger than 18 when he joined
