I bought this in a bargain bin for 5p and it (and its two b-side songs) quickly became my favourite record. Fantastic, original, and playable again and again - interesting to see what they looked like and what a shame this wasn't a number one!
It's not a guitar playing that solo. A bowed guitar sounds VERY different to that. Did the girl play the piano on the recording? I doubt it watching her mime to it. Nevertheless.. a fantastic song and a great band.
Other websites (Wikipedia and the "official" website) credit Philomena with playing piano and Colum with playing bowed guitar. I agree that the "bowed" section here not sound like bowed guitar, but Colum is also "playing" an acoustic guitar line and the song was not recorded at a time when people were hung up on exactly replicating the instrument set on a mimed performance. The solo line definitely does have a "Brian May"-style guitar content, doubled with another instrument or two.
What a top song, I've loved it for years ever since owning the 7" vinyl. And now the video!! I never expected to see this! Top quality too, well done.
It's been years since I heard this song lived it then and live it now

Great tune, great band. Pity about the spat with the drummer

amazingly great to see this. These guys had bags of talent, and Philomena was the sexiest female vocalist ever from Northern Ireland!

At 2:22 that takes a lot of skill to play an guitar like that. I'm beginning to like this band! ^_^ Still like Petra better though.

Great Song too bad this band did not make it. Like a lot of other bands from Ireland talent wasted.

Wonder what the programme is? Strange how the band who produced Gypsy Girl and Drunken Uncle John could produce this.

Judging from the host outfits, Cruella's loveliest, sweetest song was the best fit for the show.
