Backside rodeo is often confused with Ninety Roll, is all to do with axis of rotation. Ninety Roll is linear i.e. straight back flip then 180 rodeo is off axis. Check this out List_of_snowboard_tricks on wiki pedia (since that's always 100% lol). It's hard to tell in that vid because of the fish eye. Either way looks clean and good, nice skills!

@ftballah81 Rodeos aren't that hard, I even find them easier than backflips. Just don't ollie too much because it will fuck you up, go smooth, let yourself fall backside by bringing your front knee up and "dropping" your back shoulder. Grab with your front arm naturally. One the flip is done, the 180 comes naturally.

If you want to go for Rodeo 720, it's the same, except instead of throwing your head backwards, throw it backwards towards your back armpit, it will make you spin more horizontally.

@deadnremain Yeah this is a scary trick at first but really not that hard. If you are comfortable with your gainers from a diving board it is no problem. Just backflip straight up over your heel edge and spot the landing over your back shoulder and it will just happen.  I would be careful just "falling back" unless you are hitting a big jump. I suggest start small and flip hard, and be pretty darn good, at least real solid on regular backside 540's or you will have problems landing.

A rodeo 5 is still a rodeo 5 it is just stupid not to do it off heels cause that throws you into te trick. There is a 5 incorperated into it. The backflip = 360. The 180 at the end = 180. 360+180= 540. Look up Eric willet if you don't believe me he is a pro and he makes a tutorial on them. He does dub rodeo 9s which is 2 barrel rolls and a 180. 2(360)+180= 900. there ya go.

hey every body for doing a backside rodeo you need to take a little curv ( has if you were going to spin a backside 180 ) on the toes but not too much and then when you are praticely on the top of the jump you start doing your side flip rotation so, at the really end of the kicker you are on your flat base or heel, but because it's going fast we see has if he kick off his toes

the only way to do a bs rodeo is off the toes. I know it seems hard to think about, but its the only way. if you spun off your heels, you would be spinning front side, which would end up being an underflip. with a fs rodeo, you would have to pop off your heels even though your spinning to the right (if your regular)

Alright, so I'm trying to learn this trick. I only do barrel rolls thus far fro inverted tricks. When I do so I hit the jump and just kind of do what would feel like a standing backflip on a tramp. So I take off my heel edge. Were you coming off your heel edge too?  I just couldn't tell. Great Riding!

your half correct, a back flip is called a backflip. When you do the backflip it adds 360 degrees of rotation and that last backside 180 adds another 180 degrees of rotation and those together equal 540 degrees of rotation. there fore it is a backside rodeo 540. if you were to do a backflip and then 360 instead of 180 out of it, it would be a backside rodeo 7.

I have watched hundreds of snowboarding videos and not one fucking pro has ever called that ANYTHING else then a Rodeo 5. Do a youtube search for rodeo 7, rodeo 9.. and you see that the first flip is exactly the same, after the rodeo 5 is spinned. the spin goes straight to the side as if you were doing a regular spin. Just watch Andreas wiigs x games rodeo 9 or T rices.. the first flip is flattened jus a little bit out on the 9 to make it possible
