@airgeek11 It really depends for what purpose you are going to use. With C# you need to work with Windows and the .NET framework while C++ is more multi-paltform and can also be used on Linux, Mac OSX and so on.

Generally I would say that C++ almost has the whole C# in it.So if you got the time to learn something than I would go for C++. On the other hand, C# is faster and easier to learn (not faster in the runtime, but faster to write a program with).

Your not frustrating. I have SAMS teach yourself 21 days PDF of C#, but I didn't like that because mine had errors when it is done exactly with VS2010. I chose Video tutorials because I have learned from them before and I can ask questions in comments. Go ahead and use Visual Studio, but erase everything it starts you with, and then go line by line, explaining everything, and any terminology. I get some, but not all, like what a function is. And also, try to actually zoom in.

One thing i am trying to do with this series is incorporate terminology that is actually used in the field. Like if you use Sams Teach yourself C# or other learn C# books it calls them Methods and then people get confused when a professional calls them Functions.

it is true that C++ is harder then C#, what gives C++ its power is that you have to do everything yourself. i do robotics as a hobby and i can't use C# at all (no framwork) but i can do it in C and C++

Visual Basic isnt that great in my opinion. I doubt alot of people use it in the profesional world. Use C# then move to C++

i would use C# for the same reason that JakJak said the only time i see Visual Basic used in the professional world is when they upgraded from VB6. And if you learn C# it will be much easier to learn C++ and C because they use the same syntax.
