I would not say media matters should be seen as a news organization it is a watchdog group. I don't always agree with their position honestly. But they do make some good points. You said Rasmussen is independent but they have a history of conservative bias which is well known, Scott Rasmussen the president was a paid consultant for Bush's campaign in 2004. Also they collect there poll info from robo calls which is not a common polling practice for big poll groups.

They also use language that tends to add implication to the question. EX: (real question)
