  • Or get a single Xeon.

  • @MrHurricaneRetard Oh look, a fanboy of any other OS who can't stand it if we do not all have the same preferences, who then quickly realizes that his amazing substantiation doesn't work unless he adds an insult.

  • @jojotjuh No I agree with The Hurricane Retard. What will you do with 32 cores with Windows on it ? The scheduler in this OS is just plain SHIT ! You will lost a lot of CPU cycle just scheduling what task go to what core/CPU.

  • Nice toaster you recorded this with

  • Windows? Seriously.

  • wtf is that noise ,, o.o jeez i will never get myself a server machine! >,<

  • Why do you show us a 16-core setup in freaking 240p?

Furthermore, what type of motherboard and cpus are you using?

And what kind of applications do you run on this machine?

  • Souns like a jet turbine :P

  • such a expensiv thing, and u make a vid with ur calculator?

  • quality...

  • I wish we could have heard it on startup but a darn plane flew over your house :(

  • is your camera a Potatoe?

  • did you film that with your asshole?

  • Now replace all of them with 990x processors

    That would give you....erm 8x12 threads :P

  • Love the camera..

  • did you videotape with a blow dryer?

  • He isn't kidding about the ram go google server 2003 or 2008 data center req. !!!

  • at 0:41 you can clearly see that its two mobos! ahhahaa

  • Yes, really, how did you connect 2 mobos? I didn't imagine it could be done.

  • FAKE!! Theres no ram in it u cant be running this so called "windows stress test" WINDOWS WONT EVEN BOOT WITH OUT THE RAM... IN FACT WHEN U TURN THE DAMN THING ON THE ON BOARD SPEAKER IS GUNNA CONTINUOUSLY BEEP!! nice try tho :)

  • @Fr3nchFR135 I work with servers all day. theres more ram slots than that and it could also come with built on ram.

  • @Fr3nchFR135

Oh, come on! This isn't the video of the actual stress test, so you don't need RAM just to get the cpu fans spinning. Which is all it shows here. From how high the mobo sits I can tell there's another one underneath it with the same set of stuff. Incidentally, beep behavior is not standardized in practice, so if no RAM is installed it will most likely not beep at all, but just spin fans.

  • @parahumanoid at least you actually know something about computers lol! even if there wasn't another board under, which the author states in the comments, does he not realize CPU's can have multiple cores? plus he could have ram installed in the bottom board. idk much bout servers so it might be able to work like that

  • omg i dont understand how can u connect two motherboards togather ??

can someone show me some pics or video or something

    this is mind blowing

  • Run Crysis like a BOSS!

  • How did you connect two motherboards together?

  • NOISYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • the server was too expensive so couldnt get a bettar cam XD

  • Could he ever put the side panel back on the case? I mean look how close those heat sinks are to where the panel would be. It makes way too much noise to be useful. If you're really going for the gold with a custom build then make a better chassis too.

  • ... after spending $2000 on cpu's, Panos1981 suddenly realized he would not have enough for a camera over $100, ;-)

  • @eatingcatshit haha $100 are you joking? my calculator records better videos lol

  • lol got nice pc but bad cam

  • can i hookup 2 motherboards up using an IDE cable and bridge them?

id like to make a fast-ass computer

  • pano agori m ...pou einai i ram?

  • 1 beat him up

    2 steal the computer

    3 play pong

  • Now you just need some type of usable software that can actually use all the CPU's. The more CPU's you have, the complexity of the software you need to utilize it goes up exponentially. Unless you "only" have some huge mathematical equations you need to solve.

  • that shit cant run crysis on low!

  • @903harman cuz it has shitty onboard graphics and its not ment to play games.

  • But can it run crysis on max settings?

  • name of the mainboard?

  • all that processing power uve got there and u cant render a hd video

  • why its sounds like fiat 125p?

  • I may hope that the server is not of the same quality as the video.

  • how do u connect two motherboards together?

  • Jet engines, running normal...

    Wing flaps, operational...

    Wind velocity is minimal...

    Afterburners, now on...

    We're ready for takeoff!

    Fly safe and God speed.

  • That is a monster!

  • We've got some server like this at work. 8 Quad Core 3.6Ghz with 256GB RAM running VmWare ESX each. (i think there are 5/6 serv's like that, but i prefere our mainframe)

  • Is that an airplane?

  • You need an Operating System.

  • fuck that is they are the most beasty fans iv ever heard and iv head a lot

  • dual core is ja schon kraß, is das Amibios chipped ?

  • 4 cpu of 4 core each... just sick !! i love server hardware and much more advenced :) than home computer

  • Would rather not listen to that noise while using the pc lol. It's comparable to several vacuum cleaners running at once :P

  • Four cpus, huh? NICE. I want to build a system that has four cpus, preferably xeons or perhaps AMDs. With 5 quadro cards, 5 hard drives, shit loads of ram, and cooling so it doesn't melt itself. Mostly will be used for high end 3D modeling and renduring.

  • @Consumerofknowledge i want to build one with 67 cores so I can play Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  • @FireAce44 That would be fun.

  • i might be missing something... but i see 4 heatsinks.... for 4 cpu's. and NO ram installed cant see whats really under that pc...

  • yes 4 physical cpus, but he thinks because they are dual core that each cpu equals 2 cpus.

  • @xvirus2501

    In that case, I have 4 CPU's. :P

  • @secret00agent00man Nah you have 4 Cores in your CPU :D As do I!

  • @chainsaw2010 looks like a 4u chassis so might be a board under that as well?

  • @chainsaw2010 I've seen this motherboard before, if you look close, there are two levels, each containing 4 CPU's

  • @chainsaw2010 actually there are 2 ram stick installed !

  • @MrTRISTANCOOL pause the video @ 1:04 sec you will see all 8 slots they are all empty

  • Comment removed

  • too bad you had to use a cell phone for the video.

  • Two motherboards inside, right? Modded by yourself??

So it seems a 4+4 CPUs and 16 physical cores!

  • No mods there mate. There are two boards connected together. 16 Cores all up. Can run 1tb ram.

  • @Panos1981 how can you run 1tb ram ?

  • @1235242 It has the potential to run 1 tb when 16 gb ram sticks are available at the moment it can run 512gb 8x8x8

  • @Panos1981 so you have 64 times 8 gb of RAM ?

  • @Panos1981 :)

  • @Panos1981 want!!!!!!

  • @Panos1981 so it has 8 separate sets of dual 4 channel memory slots ?

  • @Panos1981 THIS IS INSANE!

  • @iirmantass3

    No This Is Sparta......

  • why?

  • @Panos1981 Based on a Tyan design!

  • @Panos1981 is this a Tyan solution?

  • but can it run CODmw2??...

  • yeah... and faster than your pc will ever be...

and now scram, pc's arent ALWAYS meant for gaming..

  • one word overkill

  • Sounds like a cat being put into a blender. Nice though.

  • lol it sure does

  • it sounds like a jet engine thats about to blow up

  • I've been in a real server room, in the back of a Wal-Mart store. Very loud.

  • who? the rednecks in walmart or the servers? jk jk jk but why would a walmart have servers?

  • Mainly for virtualization...

  • Why else? They need servers to interconnect their registers, their computers, their catalog systems. How else do you think they account for what is on the shelves... etc...

  • Wow

  • Wal-Mart actually does an impressive amount of computing for inventory management and whatnot. If an item has an upward purchase pattern, they systems to to make sure that it's always in stock.

  • cool ive been in the server room at out school very loud also it right next to the liabery lol

  • looks like you need to go read some more.... library!!!

  • lol

  • Wal-Mart is not a real server room. Sorry.

  • @DannyBoi56 how do you know he's in a walmart?

  • NICE SERVER bro damn,, haha i have an IBM eserver xSeries 335 with 2 xeons and 4 gb of ram :) just havent had the time to set it up... What do you use this server for??? im curious :)

  • My server has a bloody single core 32bit semperon and 1gig of ram >=(

You should build me one of these.

  • home supercomputer???OHH sever

    ok ok

  • nice server, but please, do get a better camera!

  • That sound is COOL

  • its so loud o_O

  • bullshit.

  • Yeah, and what games do you play with all 8MB of video ram.

  • I bet its rubbish.

  • revorocks123 = sucks big fuckin dick

  • WTF I never even made this comment! I didn't say this, it must of been one of my mates or something. I think thats a cool server, 8 dual cores! May be bloody noisy but I bet it pretty dam quick.

  • its a jet taking off?

  • no ram?

  • hehe, Saw that as weeeeeel.

  • Dont you mean 4 physical ?

  • no 8 cpu's, 4 on top and 4 on the bottom

  • ...Two mother boards ?

  • ..well the bottom board is the Main Mother board, with 4 chips and the ecc ram for those chips. Then theres a top daughter board that has a additional 4 chips and the ecc ram for those chips as well. I've worked on many of these. Its a Tyan Thunder K8QW 8 way AMD Opteron. It made a great mainstream server about 3 or 4 years ago, but the Opteron 800 series chips can be expensive.

  • Oh, ok. A daughter board that would explain it.

I'm looking at getting a 4 physical cpu MoBo that supports the new Xeons (X5500 I think ?) for a server desktop, one obviously with gpu slots. Know of one ?

Btw how many daughter boards can it manage ? Just one ?

  • Yes only one board. Those 2 boards and all the chips are very large and power consuming. I cant imagine having more with out being a blade server.

You want a 4 chip Xeon server, what for? Unless your running a company off it and you have room for a rack mount, thats kind of a over kill. The redundant PSU's and the case would be massive for a desktop. Two quad core Xeon's runs most of the projects i work on.

  • Well, the plan was to have it's going in a tower cube case or is I can find one, a micro server rack.

The idea was to get a Tyan for physical core mobo w/ gpu slots so as I can have massive perfomance when it comes to Rendering/Photoshop/Music production. Of course I would like to get some games running on it.

But yea I figure, Get the Mobo, one Xeon X5500, one PCI-E (Model depending on time).

As times goes on and things get cheaper fill it up.

  • What is that m/board?

  • I see 4 physical cpus

  • Same..

  • awesome!

  • Just a guess, but that rig looks like one of IBM's smp 8 way units. Two boards stacked on top of each other, 4 processors per board. With hyperthreading, it can really crunch some data!

  • what motherbord is that?

  • How did you build this? Are there any stock servers that support 8 CPU's? I know the DL700 supports 4. :S

  • WOW!! what the hell is that server for? must be a huge network

  • are the hard drives 15ks? :D that has some power :O nice! just fill them ram slots :P WOOOOOO!

  • hows it running with no ram?

  • rams on other board

  • Depending on the type, 400$-2000$

  • can we see if we can play CS on it LOL

  • Lol, Not enough money to buy the ram i see

  • how much would it cost to load a server with 16 to 32 gigs of ram

  • A380 warning ^^

  • This sounds like a rocket taking off. Awesome machine. Nice build!

...I wish I had your money...:)

  • cute...

  • Can't believe with all that processing power you're using an OS as bad as Windiss on there. A REAL computer like that needs a REAL OS running on it, like Linux, BSD, SUN's Solaris UNIX, etc.

  • Yeah, I love POWER-PCs at all.

  • thing sounds like an old alienware revving to take off

  • to loud , maybe? or is it just me...

  • hey y dont gamers just put 4 qwuads on these baord does that work? plz help

  • Because 2 or more physical CPUs make your PC slower but more powerful - if you have one CPU and its good it is much better for games.

  • wtf? fial, no memory in slots... what mainboard is it?

  • 2 memory modules are available on the video man!!

  • Fuck this man !!!

    great 5/5

  • holy shit!

  • Lets hope your not static (:-}

  • The machine that may have the power of running Vista *lol*

    Btw nice machine :)

  • Quiza le falten 16 procesadores de 4 nucleos mas para poder cargar windows vista sin problemas, no crees qpox? jajaja.

  • English please... my Spanish is not that good :)

    Or try in Danish...

  • it is loud at boot and gets laoder later because it is trying to stay cool

  • the noise is just on boot, see how it gets quiet toward the end? Most servers spin up high initially on bootup

  • i think im deaf!

  • haha no ram stick

  • Lift off!

  • aand.....LIFT OFF!!!!!! fuck thats loud

  • it sounds like it is possesed

  • Thats like a fucking Jet plus a Train, That is one loud motherfucker.

  • i thought the old athlon 600 was loud (the case fan was broken)

  • The brand is Tyan. they are a supplier of server and workstation boards. there are two boards linked together by a massive PCI type slot.

  • Thats insane what brand are the motherboards?

  • Oh I see now, RAM must be on the board underneath?

  • How does it run with no RAM? I didn't see any installed!

  • Panos1981 That is V impressive.

Please buy a chess engine and run that thing on chessbase server site for computer / engines. You may just win everything lol :)

  • sounds like a jet taking off

  • I need one of them for run windows! :P

  • wow..im guessin theres no wait time...lol

  • I've got only one question. For that money, do u actually USE it? For some purpose, which requires such a processing power? Or is it just for your pleasure to have at home? thx.

  • Im a server tech. The system is for a government department. I cant imagine using that much power at home.

  • ROFL!

  • Ooo how much did that cost you? :D

  • Barebone unit starts from 8k AU. Add HDD's, CPUS, Memory (32gb-64gb) Ur up for over 20k

  • fuck me lol!

Worth it tho id say xD

  • Cost is over $20,000 back then. now it would be cheaper. or higher spec. around the same.
