what i meant was my truck is running on 2 wheels the front the i talked to losi they said tighten the rearset screw did your truck ever just get power just 2 wheels
Yes I stripped several of the stock wheels and losi did warranty them for me but I ended up upgrading to lst2 parts and used losi 17mm wheel hexes with truggy wheels and that fixed the problem for me. I also broke 2 or 3 stock axles. The lst2 upgrade pack is an excellent upgrade for the lst platform. It comes with WAY beefier axles as well as several other upgrades that are well worth the hundred bucks it cost.
did u test the original shoes in the ram clutch? im using the original clutch on a O.S max 30vg engine in my ram and it seems like i loose allot of torque.. Do u think the alu shoes would give me better torque?
Yes I actually did use the stock shoes for a little while. They are of a cheaper carbon material and don't grab nearly as well as the aluminum shoes. I would get you a set of the hardened losi aluminum shoes with 1.0mm springs and have at it... :-)
changed the engine as well as the shoes yesterday, now its a dynamite platinum .28 SG new alu shoes and a Losi sport pipe. the car changed totally and im really happy with the result.
gotta say i love losi
i got the xxl, ram, muggy and the 8ight-t currently using a kyosho mp 777 wc buggy but im bying a 8ight-b when i get the cash=)
thnx 4 the reply.. im not sure what size the springs are think they are from the original muggy clutch, but they work =)
Killer Raminator ! Looks Good, Sounds Good ! What all hop-ups have you done to it besides the LRP ? You should defnately get the RPM A-arms for it......TRUST ME ! LOSI RUKES !!!!
hi joe try undoing the little allen bolt that pulls the brakes and move it slightly further towards the end to make sure the truck isnt running with the brakes on.
hi can you help me i just got my raminator and the cluch bell is smoking verry bad and has a burn mark around it where its got hot i just ran in it and it sound like the break is jammed on but its not the engine revs but no movement
you might want to check all your pinions and spur gears for damage or if there loose, i dont exactly understand what your problem is but id suggest tuning it so you get more acceleration.
hi dude 1 day till i get my raminator LOL as i have got the pipe before i have the truck and i got it half price for spending £ ill leave the stock exahaust for break in and run it i wana see differences CHEERS DUDE 5*
If I were you I would start with buying a losi HT pipe and header for the truck. After that upgrade to a complete lst2 spur gear and two speed assembly.
i have a ? can u raise the body higher and tighen the shocks at all i am in it for the looks of raminator is it a lot of fun or just a waste of cash im just wondering if its good for the 520.00 or just go eles where
It really depends on what your plans are as to which would fit you best. If you plan on lots of open area high speed passes the jato would fit you better. But if you want to do more jumps and race it on the track I would pick the Revo PE for sure. And remember you will need to buy a starter box for the Revo PE. Either one you choose just have fun with it..... :-)
It's best to install the pipe and then run the truck for a few minutes to get it up to operating temps. Then tune from there. Make sure you have a nice trail of smoke at all rpms. Some pipes will require you richen it and some will require leaning. It all depends on factors like what engine your using, outside temps, fuel used, tuned pipe being used....etc... So I honestly can't tell you which way to go. If you need help feel free to send me a message on here and I'll try my best to help.
This was the first time my wife used the camcorder. I just assumed she knew where the zoom was but it took her a minute or so to figure it out.....lol.
You got me thinking when you were talking about getting the hi speed gears for low pro tires. I got the 40 series bow ties not to long after getting my axial. I tried to remove my orginal tires and put them on my axial rims, but that ended up in trashing them. So anyways, I went and got some mashers and that made a huge difference. When you get a chance check out the new vid I did.
dude mine wont i state "WONT" do wheelies ive hardend the suspension and tuned it to 25%nito tryed on grass long, short and road wtf is it like mine or what look at my posted video
A good pipe and aluminum clutch shoes should have you doing wheelies no problem. Is your slipper clutch tightened down enough? Go about 1/4 to 1/2 turn out.
Be sure to also seal your carb, pipe, & backplate.(I still need to do my backplate) And you will need a clutch shoe tool. There are alot of help vids that go over how do these. I'm sure you've come across alot of Squirrel vids while on Youtube, He's got a vid for just about everything and comments back pretty quick when asked for help.
Tigerfan3905 is right. Getting rid of the stock pipe is going to help you the most. I suggest the Losi HT pipe that comes stock on the lst2 truck. Also upgrading from the stock teflon/carbon clutch shoes to a good set of aluminum shoes will help the truck as well. Be sure if you get aluminum shoes to clean the clutch bell good with scotch brite or fine sandpaper before assembly. This will help the new shoes wear in correctly and prevent slipping.
That's a really good reving engine then! I love my axial 32, but I should have went with the lrp. I see they just come out with the lrp 30zr spec2 non pull start 4.2hp, 38,500rpm. It doesn't seem to be available yet though AE. What is the difference between the pull start & non pull start engines from lrp? The specs are much lower on the pull start engines.
I honestly wouldn't bother with the new lrp .30 just yet. I would let others get it and make sure all the bugs are worked out first before dropping any cash for one. All pullstart engines are rated lower hp because of the parasitic loss due to the added oneway bearing and pull start assembly on the rear of the crank. Also mfg. hp ratings are WAY overrated. No dyno has ever shown the mfg. hp rating to be even close to what they really put out.
Actually a good tuned pipe like the losi HT pipe and header will make your engine have more power and not really affect your fuel mileage much if all. Sometimes people get better mileage with a good tuned pipe on the stock m26 engine. The losi HT pipe will definitely wake up your stock engine!
I finally got in touch with axial and they told me to use the mccoy 9, and it is running perfectly. And yes I definitly got it sealed, learned about that messing around with high temps on my m26. I like the engine alot, but a friend of mine told me to wait and order the lrp .28 spec3, but the hobby shop had one of these in stock. (axial .32) It does have alot of power, but not quite the rpm's that you seem to have. But it looks pretty cool too. I have green fuel tubing, and yellow shocks.
Right now I am using the O'Donnell Medium Monster Truck Glow Plugs(Part#ODO100). They are under $6 a piece and work great. I have been using their plugs in other engines and had good luck with them lasting a long time so I figured I would give them a try with the LRP as well. So far so good.
Looks and sounds great! I just about got mine like I want it. I got some advise from you on one of your other vids. It was alot of help and got me going in the right direction. Because I buy from my hobby shop, I ended up with a jp-4, losi aluminum shoes, & the axial .32. I just broke it in on 20%, and am going today to get some 30%. My turbo button head should be in in a few days and I will be posting a vid. I hoping to get around the same preformance.
The Axial .32 is a solid engine that has a bunch of bottom end torque with a mild top end. If you start having any tuning issues be sure to remove the engine and seal up the carb and backplate with some good quality sealant if you haven't done that already as it will eliminate the chances of having an air leak. I've used the copper RTV engine gasket maker and had good luck with it. Glad you got it almost done.... :-)

Are you using the hi-speed conversion gears?
tigerfan3905 3 years ago
No it is all stock gears. Stock clutch bell with lst2 two speed and spur gears.
I probably need to go with a high speed set because with a set of lpr tires and wheels the truck is too low geared and tops out extremely quick.
Losiracer4life 3 years ago
That's a really good reving engine then! I love my axial 32, but I should have went with the lrp. I see they just come out with the lrp 30zr spec2 non pull start 4.2hp, 38,500rpm.
