The singing is wonderful but the acting isn't very good. For most of the time, you keep your arms to the sides and it looks awkward. You also don't give the words much feeling. From a singer's standpoint, it is perfect but as an actor and singer, it needs work.
Cool, me too actually. I recently did this play as the Beast and it was also my first lead role. Before I had only been the King in Cinderella and an extra in Annie. Again, your singing is wonderful but adding a bit more acting can greatly improve any song. I wish I could get a copy of my performances to post. I even got responses from several people saying it was better than some professional performances.
@TheRealUsoppuSama have uu watched the other performance on my account which is the opera that was my first lead and first opera and that had alot more tell me what you think...
I don´t think your acting was bad...I thought it was really god, in all of this, the costumes, the sets, you were the best...Beast is my dream role, and you were really god...
you have an amazing beautiful voice. I hope you keep developing your talent. You have an amazing deep baritone voice yet goes to a beautiful high F! I hope you are taking theater in university.
hey I saw your comment and wanted to let you know I watched your version of If I can't Love her. Thanks for the comment I'm glad you like my version. I actual more of a Baritone though. way to go on hitting and holding the last note of the song. that was a note I was sorta able to reach at the end, but I couldn't hold it that long. so props to you.
hey guys. it seems that experts are everywhere on youtube (or they like to act that way anyway). I'm also playing the role of the beast but i'm starting to stress because it requires a lot of shouting and which makes me lose my voice. and my singing isn't that great let alone with a sore throat. any help? and this dude is crazy good singer
You need need to get with a vocal coach right away that can show you how to use an elevated rough speaking voice without affecting your singing voice. If over 21 try Grand Marnier.
Not a fan of the costume, but I thought your singing was fantastic. I have a strange habit of searching for this song on YouTube from time to time, and your version -- vocally speaking -- was one of the best I've seen.
Also...with movement in singing and acting. Before you go on...go through your different movements. As an actor you should eventually have 100 movements in your arsenal of tricks. Be thinking of different movements to use on stage...observe your every day movements and connect every day life with your stage presence. Also, you're not telling the story with your hands..your hands (in acting) are movements of emotion. Be wary of that and don't overuse them. BE WISE! BEAUTIFUL singing voice!
Gorgeous job on the singing my friend. It was fantastic. One thing to help with the acting...you had some great energy and breath flow on the singing. Use that in your acting. Really spit those consonants out and treat the speaking line like a singing line. Stay connected with your breath when speaking too. Use your singing voice when acting. It'll save you're voice and transform your acting!
Very nice voice! Really impressive. that's a really full sound for a bass 2, and a really intense vibrato. Looks like a lot of work went into the show, and you definitely added to the experience. I know you said you haven't done a lot of acting, so all I can say is put more physical emotion into your music. (Though I know it's hard with a mask on, and i got drilled for not doing it myself.) Great job again!
ya that was the thing i didn't ever know what to do with my arms lol and when i did it without the mask i did use alot of facial expression and our director told me he wished i could do this without the mask bc i was using so much emotion but i had to wear the mask for the costume to work and it was so hot in that thing lol
O, I know the pain. lol. I had to wear a fat vest under the shirt to make me look bigger, and then the mask itself was rubber that fit really close to my face, and then of course it was covered in hair! We were double cast, so my double was backstage with a water bottle and a straw because I couldn't take the mask off to drink.
lol ya my mask was a 2 piece, the front was like a catchers mask then the top was being held on with some velcro and a dozen hair pins lol and i figured out how to drink something and i had a pillow-vest kinda of thing then black shirt with the fur on the front the my write shirt the then cape and then i could put my mask on and i had like 2 parents helping me put the mask on
lol, i eventually was able to put it on myself, but it took some practice. it was essentially one piece, but with several functioning parts - elastic, snaps, all kinds of stuff. I'm happy to say there were no pins used. :-)
WOW, freaking awesome Brandon!!!! I love that last note especially! The sound on this one was much better than the reprise. I should have watched this one first. You should have been in some big stage productions over the summer. I would think they'd hire you in a second! Best of luck on your music and keep posting these videos! LOVE IT!

Hey Brandon, what are the highest and lowest notes you can sing? I'm guessing you're a Bass 2, right?
CrescentFenix 1 year ago

I will start opera workshop next fall at Texas State. I have been taking voice this year and have learned so much in just 1 year here.

No pain could be deeper than holding a high F for over two measures as a low bass. But you pulled it off nicely. Good job!
btw you held onto it longer than you needed to.
Atreus42 3 years ago
What did I hold out too long?
BstGuy18 3 years ago
The last note is only two measures and one beat long and you held it around three extra measures! It sounds fine but I just thought I'd mention it.
Atreus42 3 years ago
ya our director wanted me to just hold it all the way through because he knew I could do it so why not ha! Thanks for your input.
