@Launderlife ...Ahhh I see. Mine isnt really that bad, and as weird as it may sound, I process the milk better when sugar is added, so I do well with Chocolate milk, icecreams, etc. But I will be looking for this book!! TYSM! Love, love, love your videos. I subscribed to your channel after Kelsey ( plus1please) did a shout out, and you and I have alot of the same views on things, some reviewed in you " The good, the bad and the ugly" video recently! Really enjoy watching you on your journey!
ok, so , a little confused.. what is the connection between milk and PCOS?? I have been pre diagonosed with PCOS, and I am also Lactose intolerance... can you explain that a little more?? Does that mean I should drink more whole milk. despite the intolerance?
@XXXMaritaLCogleXXX No, if you have an intolerance you def want to talk to a doctor about making a change such as this in your diet. Essentially, it is saying that "skim" or 1 and 2% milks are not good choices because they skim the fat out of the dairy. On those fats, some sex hormones are attached. There are also sex hormones in the watery part. So the skimming only takes out some of the hormones instead of the healthy balance found in whole milk. Def. talk to your doctor on this one!
@XXXMaritaLCogleXXX I'd highly recommend that you check out the book and read the chapter they have on this. It is very interesting. Something about the serving of whole milk dairy that increases fertility. But, again, you most likely will not be a candidate for this depending on the severity of your lactose intolerance. I am not a physician so cannot give you personalized advice. But I do highly recommend the book and the credibility of the science behind it.
@Chez2k3 Thanks! It is listed in the underbar now. Very good read and you can find it on Amazon quite cheap if your library doesn't have it. The Fertility Diet: Groundbreaking Research Reveals Natural Ways to Boost Ovulation and Improve Your Chances of Getting Pregnant
Jorge Chavarro (Author), Walter Willett (Author), Patrick Skerrett (Author)
The whole milk worked for me this month! My husband and I have been TTC for a while and as soon as I started including whole milk products into my diet-BAM. BFP. I'm a believer!
I got pregnant after stripping all dairy and sugar out of my diet for a little less than a couple weeks. Basically ate unprocessed fruit, veggies, organic meat and then the second week added in healthy whole grains like brown rice because a friend with PCOS became pregnant on that diet. I was craving the off limits foods so bad after 10 days that I quit....but I got pregnant in those 10 days! Also, read up on the low amylose (sp?) diet which has also worked well for others:)
Hey Laundy! Great video! This really excited me because I just went to our farmer's market last Friday and bought some milk that was straight from the cow (but pasturized). I've had about 1/4 cup of the milk a day and can tell I'm going to ovulate before CD40 this cycle. Woohoo!
Very interesting & completely makes sense. The only question I would have is the increase in fat intake associated with storage of additional estrogen. Maybe not much of a concern for an average wt woman, but more of a concern for a woman that is a bit over wt. But, ultimately everything in moderation..which from what it sounds like your saying would be extremely beneficial.
I have a question... In the book, does it talk about women being a healthy weight while taking these fertility boosters ? Reason why I am asking is that heavier women have more fat, and estrogen loves fat... It tends to get stored there... Now what happens if we incorporate more fat into our diet? Too much estrogen can be a problem too I'm thinking? What ya think?
@krystyne3434 I don't remember it addressing that specifically. BUT, I get what you are saying. My thoughts on the reading is that the "skimming" process is really the guilty culprit. Drinking/eating dairy that doesn't have a healthy balance from the skimming process complicates our own internal balance. Getting to the root of the issue, just like soy, etc, adding in hormones out of our body's natural balance certainly is going to impact our fertility. I think we need to be nerds and find
Yes, I am going to want to live a long life. I want to see my grandbabies! I ordered this book. I had breezed over it in the library and did read about the diary part. Which really was amazing to learn. Though I still drink fat free milk. LOL! Maybe that will change.
Thank you so much for that informative video. I only drink the organic whole milk because it has no additives plus it has a better taste to it. I will look for you other video on ways to boost fertility. Thanks again.
excellent video! could u go into more detail on the part where u talked about eating less trans fat and animal fats? (not the dairy but from the meat) thank u sooo much fore these vids I think it will be so helpful to tccers for the long term not just the short term like injections so many women are on.
