@michaelw2711 A lot of people watch it simply for the story, or a mix of gore and storytelling. The first Saw doesn't even have a lot of gore, and is more focused on suspense. It's the later films that are filled with gore (after Saw III) because the studio wanted to cash in on the money.

This is the start of a great series. Me and my friends made a film franchise called "Minstrel", by the 3rd installment it was boring, to be revamped by the return which was the 8th film! Saw 3 was poor but the rest are fantastic. The 1st one and 6th one are the best.

I don't know why they called this one saw. It seemed to fit the motion picture, because they had to saw through their feet to live. That's what I thought the title meant at least. I think that Leigh did a better job playing Adam, and Shawnee Smith played a better Amanda.

Although I did enjoy this video seeing James Wan's origonal idea, I do agree with you, it is pretty bad, its got bad editing, bad acting, bad directing and a bad script, but this was very low-budget, and so is the feature lenth movie, but this is the very early work of a great director's work. So yeah, it sucks, but its the origonal work of a brilliant movie.
