@mackerel47 Its not that I feel down about the uk I just know its an ugly shithole compared to all the other amazing places I have been to. I find it sad how all you people impressed by a shitty boring cold countryside which is just the same as the ones anywhere else.
I find it hard to believe Americans especialy Californians actualy like the look of this horrid shithole of a country, they dont know how lucky they are. btw I am from Falmouth Cornwal not very nice.
@mrtamberineman123 I've been to other countries too but none of them have that magical quality to them that the English landscape so embodies. The landscape is quite the opposite of boring or cold, it is truly wonderful.
I'm not surprised that Americans love it as it is unique in its splendour. How can you possibly not like Cornwall? It is magnificent.
@mackerel47 I understand what you are saying, but from the way I see it is that, why should I be content in living in a country when I I know there are much much more better and beautiful places in this world??? it makes me unlucky, I mean when I came back from my holiday to Southern California (for 3 weeks) I felt like I was going decending from heaven to hell.
British landscapes are not just plain landscapes not beautiful nor dreadfull. I mean I live in Conwall I see coastlines ....
@mackerel47 and seascapes everyday and I am nor impressed one but, if I lived under a rock all my life and was mentaly retarded Cornwall and its coastlines and seascapes would impress me but I am not (thankfully) so they dont impress me.

This is the wonderful country that birthed the wonderful English language--the greatest, most sophisticated, most beauitful language in the world. All hail to the Mother country!!
England is radio four, cup ot tea, a naughty joke. A romantic counrtyside. The thwack of a cricket ball.It is a village green and a local pub. It is a cold winter, a warm spring, a summer of sun , yes we do have it, and an autumn of colour. This is my England, and I love it.
I literally have tears running down my face. This is beautiful. I've been dreaming of going to England since I was a little girl, and I still haven't been able to make it yet, but I WILL. I don't just dream of London and seeing the famous things, but seeing the truly miraculous things... like the countryside. Thank you for this video. I cried like a baby.
@kleigh4556 lol, there are alot more beutiful places than England. The italian countryside in Tuscany is absolutley astounding, equaled by the beaches and bluffs in Greece. But you dont even have to travel that far to see such sights; if you live in the United states there are many amzing places, especially in the south-western desert and Mexico. Thats if you like nature, but if you love ancient cities there are also far more attractive cities than London in Europe, Asia and the Americas :)
@Retro90Flashback I know, there are so many places I'd love to go, but for some reason England has always called to me. It's as if a part of me lived there before I really knew it. Cheesy to the max, I know. But every time I watch this, I ruin my makeup. I've just watched it again and now I look like KISS band member.
@KLtrvlr937 That guy is right most of the countries of Europe are beautiful, but England, in fact all of the UK has a hauntingly magical beauty about it, from the incredible landscapes in Scotland and the North of England down to the South with its beautiful lush green countryside, pretty thatched roof cottages and villages that are awash in greenery and colourful flowers. Throw in all the castles and ancient buildings and you have fairytale beauty. Checkout my channel videos. "Cotswolds".
@Retro90Flashback I've seen them all, and Britain is the most beautiful country in the world. Stately homes, castles, beautiful villages in the Cotswolds, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales. and no where is greener, and is bleesed with better gardens and beautiful flowers.
@claptonbrucebaker think what you want, but tuscany has alot more castles than england, and by far more impressive. England may be greener, but after a while that gets tiresome; nothing compares to the dirt paths lined with spruce trees and golden wheat across the hilly terrain. You can find places like this all across the medditerenian and middle east, and they are so much more attractive than plain old england :)
@Retro90Flashback There's nothing in baked dry Tuscany that compares with Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Hampton Court Palace, Blenheim Palace, or many of the stately homes we have, the architectural work, and the interiors of them places is incredible. Many parts of Tuscany are still like 3rd world countries

A lot of the world is oustandingly beautiful, friends, as beautiful and indeed more beautiful than anywhere in Britain. There is nothing stopping people going to the highlands or the fucking alps; nobody truly owns these places.
I am from California. I longed to see England and finally took the opportunity at age 30. I never felt so "at home" as I did there. The streets seemed familiar and many old buildings, especially one pub and a particular old flat, seemed very much like I'd been there before. When I left I felt homesick until I visited again. That was 20 yrs. ago and my experience was the same on 3 more visits. The people are grand and the sights are unequalled. Could be that my ancestral genes want to go home.
Beautiful England!! I just cross the road and im in the countryside, picking the wild fruits of Autumn the Cobnuts the wild Blackberries ,and of course the orchard ahh lovely
America as a continent was populated by a people that were in fact not europeans, therefore America was not founded by europeans, the USA was. America existed before we got there.

White people have a right to exist, too, without being colonized out of existence. Probably the place in Australia most similar to that scenery would be in Tasmania. Unfortunatly, it was one of the first penal colonies set up. A long way fom home!
Oh me too- I am having a little prayer vigil this morning for England and my heart is filled with love for this heavenly place on earth,My son's granpa died four years ago and my beloved mother last year and it feels like it was just a few days ago I would sit with them both drinking tea and listening to their stories of their times in England. He loved his country till the day he died and now he is resting in peace here in a sleepy little churchyard in his beloved England.
Thank you. I can't put in to words what this means to me. I shared with everyone. My grandmother is dying right now and this gives me peace. I just returned from the UK and it truly is a wonderful place. Thank you again and God Bless.
Yes, it was written by the BBC's Howard Goodall for the Vicar of Dibley of all things. And this song is all the more beatiful for being a human creation. No God, supernaturalism or heavenly North Korea necessary to make this beautiful thank you very much.
With the exception of the persecuted Jews,I think you will find that the other Groups have been in Britain for 1,000 years or more!..Quite sufficient I would say :)
Now in many parts of London you do not hear ANY English spoken at all and only 21% of the 7 MILLION Londoners' schoolchildren are indigenous White(from 99.9% in 1963)..THATS what I call "swamped"...
Yes I feel swamped by all that foreign language too: all that weird Saxon and Latin and Nordic. We should stick to using Celtic words. My point is immigration has always been happening, there's nothing wrong with it, and it's not going threaten your imagined idyllical "white" Britain. Yes, immigrants make take up some jobs, but all that proves is that they're rather good at what they do, good for the economy and hey, other British people can just as well be taking your job too.
Joseph, when I saw your reply my first thought was that YOU could not possibly be disadvantaged by what IS happening. Then I saw "Netherlands"..LOL.Are you from Holland originally and would YOU feel if there were LITERALLY no Dutch people left in many pars of Holland INCLUDING where youwere Born and grew up?..Rather different,I heavily suspect!
It is NOT just"jobs" their "culture" takes over whole areas.Try visiting Leicester or Bradford,U.K...You would NEVER believe you were in ENGLAND!!

Beautiful as Bonnie Scotland is, there's just so much more in England: Peak and Lake Districts Yorkshire Moors and Dales Fens Malverns Cotswolds Kent:Garden of England and super Surrey. Mendips Devon/Cornwall North and South Downs, Sussex and the whole of "Middle England" etc:)
You've bever seen the malverns, peak district, yorkshire dales and moors, lake district, cotswolds, cornwall, devon and dorset, so keep your ignorant mouth closed, your the minority of ignorant scots.
PS : I go to the highlands every year and it always rains.
and also used to live in dorset, very nice place-but you can forget almost the rest of england, maybe the cotswalds as exception as that is also nice,
so i think maybe you and many many english need to be educated-scotland`s west coast grows some of the most spectacular exotic plants due to the strong benefit of the gulfstream!!
Could you please tell me what recording this is and where I could get it? It is very beautiful, even more beautiful than the original Vic of Dib theme (they are not the same, they have different solists).
I find this a real 'pick me up' when I am feeling down. It is one of the most beautiful arrangements of a hymn I have ever heard. Thanks to Howard Goodall and thanks Timothy for posting.
Nice video, it's nice to know England still has some beauty!

This hymn really chokes me up as I love sitting in the little English churches and the music is heavenly.
It reminds me of my mother and my son's grandfather as they loved the churches in England and the choirs.
This music comforts me when I am alone. The words make me realise our Lord my God is my saviour and he will be my strength.
I put my trust in my God and feel spiritually he is the one I serve now in all ways.
God will never forsake one - man may- but the Lord NEVER.

I'm not a church goer but wow! Music like that sounds like it's straight from heaven
dougtay65 3 years ago 8
Yes, it was written by the BBC's Howard Goodall for the Vicar of Dibley of all things. And this song is all the more beatiful for being a human creation. No God, supernaturalism or heavenly North Korea necessary to make this beautiful thank you very much.

I will die a proud Englishman one day.

Yes, damn them all those Celts, Romans Vikings, Saxons, Huguenots and persecuted Jews! Romans go home!
josephdrew87 3 years ago
With the exception of the persecuted Jews,I think you will find that the other Groups have been in Britain for 1,000 years or more!..Quite sufficient I would say :)
Now in many parts of London you do not hear ANY English spoken at all and only 21% of the 7 MILLION Londoners' schoolchildren are indigenous White(from 99.9% in 1963)..THATS what I call "swamped"...
Isleofskye 3 years ago 7

You've bever seen the malverns, peak district, yorkshire dales and moors, lake district, cotswolds, cornwall, devon and dorset, so keep your ignorant mouth closed, your the minority of ignorant scots.
PS : I go to the highlands every year and it always rains.
tom1984uk 2 years ago
depends when you go to the highlands?
during april and may it quite regurarly gets the highest temperatures in the british isles,
or do dou watch the biased broadcasting channel weather? commonly known as the (bbc),
maybe just give a wee couple of seconds of inverness or the moray firth as the warmest place on the day!!
usually if southeast england is the warmest place it takes up the majority of the weather (typical)
look-we just dont get on in this country so time for a change, INDEPENDENCE!
hoopybhoy74 2 years ago
and anyways does it not rain in england?
and also used to live in dorset, very nice place-but you can forget almost the rest of england, maybe the cotswalds as exception as that is also nice,
so i think maybe you and many many english need to be educated-scotland`s west coast grows some of the most spectacular exotic plants due to the strong benefit of the gulfstream!!
or did you not know that?
google "logan botanic gardens" and you will see.

surely the singer of this song has a family that really loves him

Could you please tell me what recording this is and where I could get it? It is very beautiful, even more beautiful than the original Vic of Dib theme (they are not the same, they have different solists).

I find this a real 'pick me up' when I am feeling down. It is one of the most beautiful arrangements of a hymn I have ever heard. Thanks to Howard Goodall and thanks Timothy for posting.
