I'm a huge opeth fan from early ages, i saw them live twice here in portugal and the last one it was only with clean voices by mikael, although it was so damn heavy, they finished the concert with this song, and my oh my this all album works so well live... after the concert i gave this album another listen and believe me, it is different, hard to digest at some points, but truly a masterpiece, the weakest album from opeth, although one of the best albuns i've eard in years
Not typical heavy Opeth, but I fell in love with this album within a day of listening to it! This song is definitely the best song on the album! HAIL OPETH!!!
what an EPIC song man!!! what an EPIC album!!!!!! its just blown me away... a lot of ppl dont like this album... well to all you naysayers!! you got this one wrong!!!!!!!
@CountShadow Quran is the source of all sceinces, Allah gives his resourceful knowledge about everything in this and next world! Muhommad was a scientists too, he knew how to treat camels and he made good swords for Islam!
@siliyemoodislam Quran has nothing to do with science, this is why west is better than you in science. I know all of you muslims are sick because i live in a muslim country. I hate you all. Now gtfo you close minded bastard, we dont need comments like that on an opeth video
@siliyemoodislam No it doesn't silly goatfucker, no country belongs to you. Now how about you go back to playing in the sand while we take care of more important things like Opeth.
Indeed, that outro is fucking sick! Every time I start to lose faith in this band, they rescue themselves and recapture my undivided attention. There are entertainers....and there are musicians. Without question, Opeth are musicians, and they make the rest of us musicians better every time they strike a note. Thanks boys. (hits repeat) =)
This is benign and irrelevant claptrap; an utterly nugatory fusion of 70s prog and black metal that the Hot Topic kids will just gobble up. If you listen to this band, do the world a favor: buy a chain wallet with skulls on it and hang yourself.
I don't care what anyone says... Heritage is an AMAZING album. This goes to show everyone that they can do it all, and they have the balls to do it as well.
@coempa i disagree with Opeth changing their sound. This is just one of the many examples of Mikael and co's musical range and style. Not once have they stated they're solely one genre of music. And Heritage is that outcome.
I like the older Opeth material just a bit better. This is great musicianship, it's just less appealing to me, I think they've changed their sound quite a lot.
Which alone is really not a bad thing, it's just that I like it less.
This still proves Mikael being a great musician though!
I know I must be the fan no. 1000000 to say it,... but after listening to this album for a couple of weeks, and despite the initial dissapointment about expecting a heavier harder death proggy album (as usual from them)... HERITAGE IS THE SHIT.
Has anyone noticed that in the cover art, Per's head is falling from the tree, as he left the band during the making of this album, and that the number of skulls is equal to the number of people who have played in Opeth? (remember the band started off as a six-piece without Akerfeldt)
@BraydonSzafranski me not. THX!!! interesting detail. I think opeth allways goes away from music and makes the entire album as an art. not only the music!!!
First time hearing the new album. Loved Opeth for a long time. Gotta say, this album's amazing. I never get tired of this band. They have a way of staying interesting...

Hey you, will you be true When you can see through what I do Feel the pain in your brain, insane Will I see my name in your scars And you will see what you mean to me
Ahh good old Steven Wilson. I can see his shades all over the album. Especially this song. Notice how similar are the outros of this and Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape of Porcupine Tree.
@krieghunter Yeah, I can see Steven Wilson's touch all over this album. His new solo album, and Heritage, are my favourite releases of this year, bar none
@TheAdam159 i totally agree. sometimes wilsons clear and seraphic voice gives me a headache but these two records are pure gold (and i definitely consider myself as a big fan of the old death metal stuff)
There is something about that outro to this song that is awesome! I don't know what it is. And when I saw them at San Francisco last week, the last 3 songs they played had that infamous Opeth EPIC endings- A Fair Judgement, Hex Omega, and of course as an encore, Folklore. Amazing!
Oh my.. That outro.. Outstanding is not the word.. Probably one the best Opeth moments.. This is not music.. This is far and beyond.. It's simply Opeth.. Mikael <3
Hearing old swedish folk tunes intermingled with Opeth's unique style of 70's-like progginess is quite possibly one of the best things one can 'feel' during music.
