Mr, FYI. I understand one's national pride, as such I have to tread lightly with my words. I've done a little homework and you are correct about Vietnam. With regard to today, however.... I just sat in the cockpit of a French Mirage. I should note that I've also ridden in an American T38 (trainer). You guys should find Jaque and slap him for letting the military go in such disrepair. I think the world of the pilots I met, but your equipment is a little out dated.

I totally agree, that's why I went really bored of the French army, despite I remain loyal to my country. Besides the silly France's politics, there is so lack of means... All our politics since the 70s should be slapped for letting our military get in the state it is now. Outdated assault riffles, outdated airplanes, outdated choppers, poor logistic support. That makes me sick and regret that there isnt an American Foreign Legion...

Economic crisis of 1936 + WW2. In 36, workers unions & communist ideas started to seduce more and more people in France. Then in WW2, a high number of resistants were communists, or socialists so the left took advantage of the situation soon after the war, as they had won the hearts in France due to their acts during the war. Dramatic error that continues to impact us today. Hopefully lately French tend to be back to reality so these bastards keep talking but dont exercise power anymore, thx god

I hate say it but the french did save us from the british in 1812 and revolution so we thank the french for that.But that was when they were a powerful country now we have been doing the saving(ww2)

The thing is that never after the american revolution or 1812 war, had France been insulting the US military or used to make jokes like "ah look the US soldiers, they cant win alone, we always need to help them finish a war and protect them against the brits, etc..." while since WW2, americans enjoy to picture us as surrendering monkeys. So boring! If you wanna get a picture of today's french soldier, think to Dien Bien Phu, Algeria, African conflicts, not WW2 only.

@Nogger86Germany u dont know what you speak about fool. Legion is tough right, but isnt the best French troop. They dont even have 1 unit part of the COS (Special Ops Command). Legion was created by the French, all officers are French since its creation (foreigners cant become officers). Many French join as Legionnaires under francophone nationality. Legion isnt better than our Troupes de Marines for example, its just a myth for foreigners like you....

Good soldiers come from every nationality. Stereotypes are a waste of time and a sign of shortsightedness not to mention poor judgement. Every soldier fighting the taliban, regardless of origin, deserve our respect and support. Feeling pride for your own country does not require that you disrespect another.

Who are the French? They are cowards, always complaining and finding ways not to fight. If a small country invaded France, with no support they would fall in a week, The only reason you fight is because you know the USA has your back. USA fights and never backs down, do not ever compare the USA military to the French, you have not earned the right.

i didn't know americans didn't know their own history either... its funny cause i studied american independance war : you had a small army who coudn't do anything against the brits. So with your milicia you fought in the woods and trapped the brits. The brits didn't know you would do that and never fought the french would came, so theylet themsellves circled by your forces near the copast, and were preparing to send a lot mmore soldiers to kill you all and circle you again.

As far as your comments on the American Revolutionary war, America had no real Army and we still took care of business, we have heart and always will. The French again came into this war because they new we took control and they wanted a alliance. You see the French never start wars they go to side that is winning. (that's something to be proud of, way to go) LOL
