Actually I hate the random rooftop things.. even more so coz I found out the real reasons for them in the book. A friend told me that whenever Jack stands on a roof, he always tries to jump off, hence trying to kill himself. But BBC didn't want to do that, so I guess they were merely implying it.

But good god their way of implying was bad as how anyone could guess that is beyond me... Maybe if they actually had shown him moving towards the edge before they cut to the next scene.
