I disaggree about it being a good crossover from the animation, in the animation earth and humanity took a backseat to the transformers conflicts and adventures and the transformers themselves were the main characters, in these live-action movies the human and his pathetic friends are the main characters with the transformers simply being used as impressive action scenes and good cgi....pretty shabby, unfortunatly what has been seen cannot be unseen.....

The Original Transformers was fucking cool, even now watching it as an adult it's fucking cool. The new transformers is an impressive 3D animation reel but other than that it's fucking lame. Why are the producers obsessed with wanking over cgi rather than making a decent film? Come to think of it all films nowadays with special effects suck! Bring back transformers! Bring back Megatron's voice, I don't care if it sounds cartoonish it's a fucking kids film!

@Libervurto I agree with ya. the CGI effects of the transformers movies are top-fuckin-notch. Had my ass believing a car just turned into a 30 foot robot...all day, & of course credit must be given to the man himself, Peter Cullen; for reclaiming his rightful place. With that said, the TF movies are lacking badly. The writers churn out some shit that doesn't appear to even be proof-read, MB tricks Prime out w/ flames & absolutely bring Welker back if he would! @nitrodudezoom Depends on the mood. Sometimes I like Instruments of Destruction better, sometimes The Touch. Really, the whole soundtrack was pretty damn great. Hunger, Instruments of Destruction, Dare, The Touch, and of course the metal version of the TF theme. Add in a stellar score and you have yourself an undisputed top ten movie soundtrack.

NRG was a good band i use to see they play at the old living room in Providence years ago. They did a cover song by the group Nazerth the song was " Hair of the dog " they use to do it to a T . I use to party with Lee and the drummer from the band TOUCH Dave what great times.

@thexmario They both are good in their own ways. I think the live action versions have better edge of the seat action sequences than the movies, especially with Revenge of the Fallen. The only two real good action sequences in the 86' movie was Optimus Prime taking out all the Decepticons and all but beating Megatron. I was all too devastated when Optimus died and insulted when Rodimus took Optimus' mantle when that was because of his interference Optimus died.

@thexmario The score in the live action movies were far better than that of the original 86 movies even though I will admit that "unicron's theme", "You got the Touch", and "instruments of Destruction" were epic. However, with all due respect, Skorponok was more epic than all of them combined. The transformation of Megatron and Unicron were also high parts of the 86 movie. However, I would say the battle with scorponok and the epic battle scenes in Fallen far out did the 86 movie

@thexmario In closing, I would argue that the 86' version is better for nostolgic value for us original G1 fans. However, in terms of overall presentation, I would argue that the live action version was far from an insult to an original diehard G1 fan and in many ways better than the 86' version. I would even go so far to say that the battle sequence with Optimus before he died in fallen is like comparing apples and oranges with respect to the one in the 86' version.

I would like to point out that Megatron would not have been anything without Soundwave. Without the information the Decepticons ALWAYS got ahead of the Autobots, they would never have gotten half as far as they did. Megatron rocks, don't get me wrong, but Soundwave was the true force behind Decepticon power.
