Hi I can do this by kicking up against the wall but cant lift my butt off the ground by myself. I have been practicing for over 10 days now. HELP !!!!!
Try the following: No matter how you get up in the pose, practice coming down as slowly as you can, with or without the wall, or with or without the chair at the wall.. (place a chair against the wall, come up by stepping onto the chair first, swing your legs up, one at a time, or both). Hamstring flexibility helps for kicking up with one leg; abdominal strength helps for coming up with two legs, but you develop the strength by attempting the pose, and by coming out slowly. rsvp, let me know..
