Excellent quality video and the perfect example to blue eyed soul! We placed as our video pick of the week here at Rock-it Radio Online -- Thank you for posting!
Dean& Marc also had a pretty good hit with a cover version of Travis and Bobs "Tell Him No". D&M on Bullseye and T&B on Sandy. T&B went to # 8 and D&M did not make top 40.
Their song "Run Baby Run (Back Into My Arms)" reached as high as number 12. The lead singer, Larry Henley, is probably now best known as the co-songwriter of "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler. Back-up singers are brothers Dean and Mark Mathis, and both are multi-instrumentalists. "Bread and Butter" was written in 1963 by Larry Parks and Jay Turnbow. (Parks was Roy Orbison's drummer on "Only the Lonely")
@RoboSlater Thanks for the background information, a reminder that even very minor cultural figures often have interesting twists and turns in their careers.
@ezbakeoven3 and you think their more advanced now? "Baby baby baby ohhhhhhh. Baby baby baby ohhhhhh. Baby baby baby ohhhhh." "It's friday friday gotta get down on friday."
@desert3347 Actually in the beginning there was a rumor the that really was a woman singing Hell, I thought it was a woman when the song first came out.
@desert3347 Yeah, i remember kids arguing about that. I wasn't none to sure myself. But, can you answer for me, is this an American group or were they from the UK? That part I don't remember.
@desert3347 You're probably right. Let me know,Okay? This was at the beginning of the British invasion. So that's why I assumed they were from the UK, I guess.
@gotch09 Hey gotch09. The"New Beats" were a "States" Band- Members, Lead singer, Larry Henley from TX, Brothers Dean & Mark Maths from Shreveport, Lousiana.
They exsisted as a band, from 1964-74. My personal favorite of theirs is "Run Baby Run". Bought that "45" & still have it.
@gotch09 Glad to give you some answers. Back years ago, we didn't have Utube, only little radios-only American Bandstand. Didn't know what they looked like. New Beats had a few other songs, not a popular as this, but I'm sure you know. Check out Run Baby Run. It's just as good, with more meaning.

That guy really does not want any more bread and butter. Next time I get asked if I want bread and butter, I will say "NOOOOO NOOOOO bread and butter, NOOOOO NOOOO toast and jam!
This is kinda awesome finding this. My grandpa actually wrote this song about my grandma divorcing him way back in the day, and how he was gonna miss her cooking. Funny to find it now and days I guess.
Thumbs up for "The brave little toaster goes to mars"
