Being 27 it's kinda' hard to imagine what people like Cobain, Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin , etc. went through to have done all this and already be gone.
while i will not rate because you asked, i will comment. this song is too punk for a dumpster. fuck all you people who say kurt sucks. fuck all the people who say he was a junkie, fuck all the people who don't like this. he lived a life. left us a beautiful memory and departed. we should be grateful. he was a human, and that's all.
read SHADOWLAND, THE BIOGRAPHY OF FRANCES FARMER WAY AHEAD OF HER TIME AND SHE WAS DESTROYED BYHER MOTHER AND THE HORRENDOUS STATE MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM IN WASHINGTON AT THE TIME OR IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ SEE THE FILM FRANCES WITH JESSICA LANGE
great film though very painful to watch i could only watch it once Lange is amazing in it could tell she identified totally with frances
guys that seether band is apose to be like nirvana, but its not as apeeling as real 1990 grunge... : \ wheres the Depressed vocalist? wheres the 100 feet tall bass player! where the SADGASM! lol had to make a movement!
rofl, yeah seriously. when i saw in the description that its "a great version of the song" i thought i was in for a treat, like it was a really good live version or something. nope, just the same old album version.
I'm Coabain's age (born 1967), have three young kids, and so am TOTALLY "out of it." Nirvana is still my favorite band. So what alternative/grunge-type bands out there now would be good for us Gen-Xers to try out?
well weezer are really good and puddle of mudd and stone temple pilots are back and alice in chains (not with layne obimento) and pearl jam is always good. i am not as old as you but my stepdad likes theses bands too and u are close in age
i just recently started listening to sloan, and you should definitely try out the screaming trees and the lemonheads. these arent new bands though. they were around when nirvana was. just figured id mention them in case you missed them.
actually everyone sais that bitch courtney killed kurt but it hurts me everytime i think about it thats why if anyone wants to come at the anaheim angels stadium in 4 days where playing the whole CD on utero as a tribute to nirvana
Around the time of my birth, Nirvana was on tour for Bleach, and I still remember when my mother told me that he had died. It never stops hurting, you know? We all owe something to Nirvana for the music our generation grew up with. If only it could've reched out to more of us when we were young.
thats what im saying...i live in downtown seattle and not many kids listen to nirvana or grunge in general, everyone listens to gay goth scream grindcore metal or some fucking gay ass rap...it sucks
OMG one of my favorite Nirvana songs got In utero greatest hits and bleach...Kurt changed my life so much I'm only 14 but i would love to have met this guy
ah these new generations of Nirvana fans. I was a teenager when this came out...."I've never heard this song" is kind of funnny for me to see I forget how fucking old I'm getting
at the risk of sounding like a complete moron, ive never heard this song...but think its rather fitting for such a tortured woman (not by her own account)...
the song's lyrics are about a specific article that ran in Vanity Fair about Courtney doing drugs when she was pregnant. But the lyrics also have some very overt references to Frances Farmer.
Actually...Frances Farmer's story is one that touched Kurt on a level that could be concieved as metaphorical, but in Farmer he saw a sort of kindred spirit who was affected by fame and her disdain towards being famous was matched by Kurt.
masterpiece divine song and album love this

She's actually a metaphor for his feelings on fame. Its not about her directly.
RideonRunnersHigh82 4 years ago 2
Probably...but the "she'll come back as fire and burn all the liars" line could very well have been about FF
florange00 3 years ago
It could be about her, when it talks about 'Our favourite paient' I think it refers to her when she was put in an institution.
